    Its actually been listed there for quite some time now.

    Lets hope it dosnt turn out to be a pile of crap like the other games also listed there.

    Sony is publishing the game. I'm sure they want to make the game box sells go up so they will advertize the game.



    That doesn't mean it's going to be a station pass.

    first off let me say, .. im not a God's and hero's basher ...

    and let me say this .. i too would enjoy NOT seeing God's and Hero's on station pass .. that would definitely be a negative notch for me in my decision to possibly buy and play this game ....

    BUT ... words at this point from either company can not be trusted .. its all bullshyt PR at this point designed to keep interest and a positive atmosphere around the game ... dont think a company wont change their tune the last minute with a decision going against statements they've made in the past ...then try to spin it in a positive way ...

    again my only vested interest in this topic IS NOT to in fact , BASH SOE and their upcoming games ...but to discuss steps that i find positive, in trying to preserve the pre-emptive success of this game ( even though i Doubt these posts will matter, since developers may not read them, and if they do may not be swayed by them)

    i think as little involvement with SOE as possible at this and future points, is the only way to preserve the possibility of a successfull launch

    i mailed RedwoodSap a few days ago to see if he would correct his misrepresentation to the title of his thread. he has not

     

    for those who do not do their own research, the situation is as follows... GnH is listed on Sony station (because of their publishing involvement), but not on STATION PASS

    SOE are joint publishers with PE, their responsibilities will be...

    • printing CD and boxes
    • distribution
    • advertising

    SOE are NOT involved with...

    • server hosting
    • billing
    • game development
    • customer service

    This will not be a station game, PE have consistently stated they will run operations! Thankfully!

    i have two problems ..

    number one the NAME SOE scares away a lot of VET MMOG'ers ... the mature types whom i enjoy playing with ... sure the kids dont know anything about SOE or SWG, but the people who actually read do, and their distrust for SOE is so great they boycott anything soe has interest in ...

    number two ..

    i dont think SOE is such a great distributor anymore, at least here in NY ...

    i barely see any SOE games on the shelves anymore, and everquest 2 is rated so high? vanguard here was overlooked at my local gameshops as well

    and three ..

    SOE HAS A HISTORY, of lying to its consumer base, AND enlisting the help of any partner developers to lie for them as well ... people like Lucas arts, monolith, sigil ... maybe even PE ...

    so just because SOE is involved i dont completely trust PE ... i only believe action that i see ...

    knowing how bad the PR is for SOE i cant see PE coming out and saying anything BUT, " SOE HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH GODS AND HEROS"

    this is not to say im not still following the game ... i will just be more cautious before buying it,  cautious as in, buying AFTER release .. and how long after  (weeks,  months maybe a year ) depends on the reports i hear ... if of course im still interested ...

    just as a sidenote to people thinking im bashing this game .. im not,  i still listed it in my top 5 most anticipated at the pub forum

    Samuraisword now announces he will not play it, even though it has been known for well over a year that SOE is a co-publisher

    I didn't realize it was going to be on stationpass. That suggests a lot more influence ala Vanguard.

    I think the name of this thread is whats throwing people off,

    This game has never been announced to be on the station access pass, the station access pass is  a collective list of games you pay x amount of money for to play x amount of games. G&H is only listed on the station website, G&H subs will be done through P.E.,  because they will be hosting thier own servers for thier own games, Gods and Heroes: Rome Rising and Star Trek Online.

    Thanks for the confusion Op, but it's easily cleared up by anyone who will simply look it up or ask about it on the G&H site.

    You know what i find funny is that everyone hates on soe thats fine by me everyone has their opinion i respect everyones decisions and what they do or don't do it is youre choice but i don't hate soe at all fort the fact i've never once had a problem with anything that has to do with sony.....

    1. I never call cservice with any company on anything i justr don't

    2. I've never played swg....for the fact every movie that became a game or a game become a movie always becomes shit almost everytime i can't even think of one game that became a movie was even good

    Anyone who has taken the time to sign up at the GnH website knows the true story.  The only thing SOE is doing with GnH is publishing.  Everything else is being done by Perpetual.  That's what the devs have been saying all along.

    Well, I know quite a few, but I will continue on the SW tangent... A recent game... SW Lego 2 freakin owns. So there :P



    Also, as it has been stated many times, this will not be a station pass game. And we have known for A LONG TIME this game was being published by SoE, it shouldn't suprise anyone.

    well, for me it doesn't matter, IF it's involved with SOE in any way, I won't buy it,   There are too many mmos coming anyways.

    Mah, whats with people these days, always looking for someway to attack other games.



    When I saw the title I thought hell had frozen over! But no, just another person noticing that its on the list. Why wouldn't it be there, SOE are advertising for the game, whats so hard to accept about that.

    I'm not going to try to force anyone to play any game, if they like it fine if not o well seeya. not my problem.

    No game needs stubborn close minded people anyhow, they need people who wanna have fun and those people are the ones I'll encourage to come on out. :)

    I have some small hope for GnH.Its one of the few mmos i have any hope for at all.Its being tied to sony in anyway though ,is a negative to me.

    And dont kid yourself.Sony most likely has some control ,or will soon,over when the game gets pushed out the door.This game will most likely follow the same old history that almost all mmos have.

    Im sure all too soon the conversation will change from "Sony wont affect the game" to "Its sony's fault, they forced it out the door"

    The  whole station pass thing, doesnt worry me either way.While they may not now plan on being part of that,Sony has a way of eating up things that it touches,BUT i wouldnt pay for a station pass to play a game anway.Id simply sub to the game.

     

    So again, dont kid youself,the Publisher usually has ALOT of power over the developer.And its power the developer usaully agrees to, if not with.

    cracks me up how narrow-minded people are... you're not gonna play what looks to be probably one of the best and definitely most unique games out there just because SOE is printing the cds/boxes and handling advertising? yeah... i'll see ya there once it comes out and you realize what you're missing lol.

    You won't see me and many others as long as SOE is involved. A lot of us have enough sense to know that anything SOE touches becomes tainted.

    good .looking for a game to pair with EQ2 since vanguard has not been what i wanted.

    Maybe G&H will justify me going back to station all pass.
