WoW is not that good because the $15 a month fee!
the game play isent even that good because when u get 2 lvl 60 u have 2 by BC to get 2 lvl 70 and after u get 2 lvl 70 u dont have anything 2 do xcept start over with a new char!

Thats all you can do in any MMO....everquest releases an expansion...you get more gear blah blah till the next one. DAOC releases an expansion you get more gear and pvp until the next expansion....so on and so on. That whats MMO's are. Doing dungeons for gear and pvping if its availible. It is ALWAYS more of the same when an expansion comes out. Nothing makes WoW different than that

In other words, the "Highest Ranked MMORPGs" list is not in any particular order.
If you want to pretend World of Warcraft is above Everquest II on the list, go right ahead. It makes no difference because they have the same rating.
To have so many games supposedly tied is rather suspicious, but that's another topic.
i love how every wow fanboi thinks every game has stolen everything from wow and wow is totaly original.
daoc completly demolishes wow in the rvr aspect of the game and people say daoc stole wow's instancing system, daocs instancing system was implimented before wow even came out.
anyways daoc is a much better game then wow, although wow has brought some stuff to the mmo world, it is still a very boring game
good things from wow are only that it has a very clean UI and slightly changed how quests work. Instanced rvr is retarded tho, straight up

some games attempt crafting, correct me if im wrong but WoW use to have crafting too, did they remove it?

Crafting goes hand in hand with PVE and instancing. Can't really do one without the others.

I have recently given up wow, but I have played lots of other MMO's, and thats all you do at the max 'level' of any game in this genre. Some games coat it over with player housing, or some other complete waste of time but the fact is. If your playing WoW or any other MMORPG and your at the max level you probably have plenty of free time to GRIND becuase MMO's come down to that. GRINDING, your grinding an instance, a select few mobs, a node for your precious mats whatever. If you cant accept that in an endless game your going to be doing the same things over and over to move on in your character progression you shouldn't be playing mmo's. Yes, every game will have a few things that the game is built around as what your going to be doing at max level, like it or not in wow it's those, and it wont change no matter how many expansions come out.
Back on subject, the OP is right to the extent that WoW does deserve to be over a few of the games rated higher then it.
Anyway, I am done with this thread....I hate what WoW has done to the mmo community. I still can't say that it isn't the best out there right now in terms of programming and implementation. You WoW fanbois can continue to say 'OMG EVERYTHING WAS STOLEN FROM WOW WOW WAS THE FIRST GAME EVER' and you anti-wowers can be like 'OMG WOW SUCKS ITS BORING YOU DO THE SAME THINGS ALL THE TIME' and I will sit back and play WoW because I enjoy playing with my friends.
No one is winning here.

I must say, I've actually seen the light. WoW players are so busy having no life, playing the game non-stop (many dieing in the process), that they can't even come to a site to vote for "the best game." But wait, that makes no sense. If it's so wonderful and everyone is supposedly all-for it, what's the OP even doing on here? What are any of the WoW players doing on here?! Wake up call! Your game isn't rated the best, deal with it.
First of laddy WoW is a close of every other succesful PvE game that came before it. Low score on both originality and creativity.
Its fun if you dont mind the tedious and threadmill like gameplay. Low score for gameplay there IMO. There are millions of people playing it so it gets high marks for that. But the gameplay itself will also one day be its undoing. So I would give it a mid level score for that.
The mmorpg poll isnt based on what is the most popular, its based on what people think of the game in question's quality.

And no one has ever played an mmo non stop. Only WoW players do that? I had a friend almost die by playing EQ. Seriously.
And to be perfectly honest with you, like I said, I vist this site while I am at work. I also visit this site while traveling between cities. SO I guess only WoW players use alt+tab now.
I did not say it should be rated the best. I can deal with that. I am just tired of all the hate and trolling on both sides, but mostly the hate WoW side.
Maybe you should try reading comprehension.
If you feel WoW has more, well what might that be because of? Because more people are involved around WoW than any other MMORPG. So there's the reason.
