I know some people won't be satisfied until their favorite game is rated at 10.0, with glowing numbers, gold medals, and a choir of angels, but 8.2 is still a very high rating.
ok...first off u make a hell of alot of assumptions. Blizzard hasnt tried to do anything new at all. BC was fun untill a month after 70. After that it was the same old bullshit I was doing. How much more grinding can people take? At least make the grind fun! You can say that the honor system change was good... but what was the point? You got all you great PVP epics and BC comes out and then what (I'll admit a lot of my GM gear lasted a long time)? You replace it with some blue shit. If you wanted to BG for good gear at 70, tough luck. You get a bunch of shitty GM gear and a few epics. Arena is fun but takes WAAAAY too long to obtain anything. If you want full epics from pvp grind BGs and and do arenas. You'll have full epics in about 6 months if you got a decent team. Everybody knows the deal about instances. Run that shit over and over and hope the item you want drops THEN hope you get it. Repeat untill you have everything you want. How long is that gonna take? How boring is that gonna be?
I understand all the BS people talk about when it comes to working for gear. Honestly I dont mind working for gear if the grind is fun. I dont like doing the exact same thing over and over. IMO I'm far from casual... I just get fed up after a while. I've reached Rank 10 and quit both times when I was just about to get the next rank. It was just ridiculous. I also busted my ass to get the whole GM set when the arena points came out. I grinded aldor and consortium rep during BC and got both of them done in less than a week. That's when I said fuck this bullshit and just stopped playing. IMO none of these games should be top 10. Where the hell is the innovation? What can I say tho, different strokes for different folks!

The reason why the developers of GW1 will make GW2 is because there are major improvements they want to employ that would take rewriting the whole system. So they decided to make GW2. Successful elements from GW1 and some new features that would make it a less ordinary game and not a copycat of games of something we know about today will be implemented. You can read articles about this from other sites and magazines(e.g. PC Gamer)
If selling over 3 million copies isn't "successful" enough then I think we both have different definitions of the said word. And the same business model that got GW1 here today will still remain in GW2. It would be their secret sauce

WoW would not cut it. It has 3 million subscribers in the US, yes, but that doesn't mean its a good game. It did nothing new at all. It took parts from better games, watered them down, polished them up,and re-released it with bad graphics. A lot of ignorant people/new people play it, which makes it seem better than it is. Their view is so dillusional, someone actually game it a 9 for graphics, over Vanguard, which got like, a 7. 9-10 for graphics... on WoW...now that's fanboyism.

Just found that earlier in the thread... and THAT is one of my number one complaints about WoW, and I think almost everyone will agree with me. I don't like WoW, in fact, I hate WoW. I hate its graphics, I hate its gameplay, I HATE the community, I hate its end game(or lack there of) I hate its character models, and I hate how everyone thinks its such an amazing game, when in reality, it just took GOOD and ORIGINAL games like AC, EQ, DAoC, and the like, put them in a blender, added 50 gallons of water, and released it to the public.
I don't WANT to play simple kiddie designed games that guide you by the hand, and try to please everyone at the same time, and don't have one ounce of challenge in them, because GOD FORBID people get frustrated and angry! Level up by non stop griding quests? Great! What are the quests? Kill 10 boars... ok... kill 10 bears, ok great, any other quests? Sure! kill 5 snakes! Ok... any others? Hmm... go on this great epic quest to find a sword that's been lost of a thousand years! Wait, let me mark it on your map and create a bright yellow road to it before you head out.

Response/Common Sense: No such thing as a "WoW-like" game... that just doesn't exist as WoW is a generic polished copy of older MMO's.
