    Keep in mind that AO was their very first MMO, they are now a Power House gaming company with alot of money to throw around to get things done correctly.  Even with them being a small company when ao was being developed, they did a great job in my opinion.  I've felt screwed over by FunCom many times, but it seems like they are getting things right this time, delaying the game to make sure they get everything right instead of trying to rush things like they did with ao is an example that they have matured and learned from their prior mistakes.

    Funcom had issues with AO's release, I dont think anyone disputes that.

    However, they dealt with issues quickly, far quicker in fact that most other developer/publishers have. They also made steady progress, and in the process, turned out one of the better MMORPG's in recent years. It's innovating, it's interesting, and they did a nice job after a poor start. Not too many other companies can make the same claim.

    I've got no reason to doubt that AoC would be anything less than a high quality product, and if Funcom stays true to existing form, then I'd be willing to bet on their ability to make rapid corrections if they are needed.

    Will it be perfect? Heck no, but I've got more faith in Funcom's ability to turn out a winner than many other developers, Sigil anyone?

       I played Ao for a number of years I am fully aware of how funcom works and how they handle there player base and have handled there player base for years.I have heard lie after lie after lie told to there customers,I have seen expansion packs released like AI with the main feature of the expansion pack(player shops) not even added into the game till 6 months after ppl paid them for the expansion.

      Just curious to you AoC fans if you really think given Funcom's track record that they will somehow manage to do this game right and actually treat there customers better than they have the last 6 years.

    I'm sorry, but I can't take your post seriously.....

    It looks like the American school system has failed yet another.

    This is a sequence of characters intended to produce some profound mental effect, but it has failed.

    We can only be so lucky to have this game being made by Funcom.   They have hands down the best in game customer support in an MMORPG.   Whenever I had a problem in AO, my petitions were answered within 10 minutes, and the person who contacted me always had the power to fix the problem very quickly.  Other companies could only be so lucky to to provide what Funcom does to its customers.   AO is a great game, and whether you liked Shadowlands or not, that expansion was probably the largest MMO expansion of any game ever.

    Also take into consideration that Age of Conan is supposed to be one of the Flagship games for Vista and Directx 10 technology.   Do you honestly think Microsoft would lay down such a bold claim if they didn't think it would deliver?  They are staking the reputation of their new operating system in the eyes of gamers on this game, which they understand is an enourmous market.   History shows us that if Microsoft didn't think this game was great, they would drop it like a hot steaming deuce in the toilet like Vanguard.

    Iwe been with AO on and off since release and while the game was released way too early, iwe never heard anyone complain like this about funcom. They never had a huge blizzard size team or anything even remotely like it, yet there is more creativity and unique things is AO than any other game released mmorpgwise. Sure you can complain and troll about small things that should have been released as planned, but no game is released with everything in it... hero classes anyone !?!

    People have been able to play AO for free for near 2 years... horrible treatment aint it... meeeh 0/10 on a troll scale.

    I feel that Funcom will bring the Conan legacy into the MMO world without too much trouble. I also feel that Funcom is fit to serve as owner to the Conan name. Regardless of what they have done in the past, Funcom still at least put in player shops (albeit after six months) they could've never put them in or worse. I personally would rather see an expansion promise player shops, not be in it with a note saying why and then later seeing them in a patch as opposed to having a player shop that was full of bugs and ruined my gaming experience just by walking into it (from either  crashing, getting stuck in the world, the machine eating me ect.). Needless to say I have played Anarchy Online for a few years and enjoyed Funcom's work. I did have problems with the game (some of the bugs are still quite enjoyable to watch and laugh at) and I feel that they will bring justice to this type of game.

    Actually,  NO, I do not trust Funcom to make a good game.

    I have read many posts here about how (in summary) it is possible for a company to change.

    However, I base my judgement on what Funcom has done, and is doing now, with Anarchy Online.

    Bugs still abound in the game.  Performance, even on new systems, is still problematic.  Content is still skewed.  PvP is a joke.  And support is left to the community to provide.  And years have passed.

    A prime example of the Funcom "We don't care attitude" is their Client Download.  They spam my e-mail every week or two to come and try AO again.  So, I go to get the Client and what do I find?  Funcom has NO in-house servers to support Client download.  You must either :

    *   Use a dog-slow free service (45k download on a 1.8gig file is a looooong download)  (I have 1meg cable)

    *   Use a premium pay-to download service

    *   Use a Bit-Torrent downloader (Bit-Torrent uses other players computers for service)

    I do not think that Funcom gets the fact that it is MY money.  It is MY time.  It is MY choice.

    I, for one, am going to wait for 6 months or so *after* the release of this game to judge if I should give Funcom a dime.  I suspect I will not.  Based on past history and performance of the company, and their support of the *only* game they have had in play for the past years.

    Buyer beware on this one.

    Yes, i trust funcom to make a good game after AO, i played AO for three years. I didnt like the expansions that much, but AO will remain as one of the best mmorpg's ive played.

    I wasted 20 minutes thinking about my signature.

    looks to me like they have poured their heart and soul into this game to beat the other MMORPG's.  i really have no clue yet on how any of the new "big" MMO's will turn out (WAR, LOTRO and Age of conan) so its all a waiting game.  my vote is that Age of Conan will be wonderful and get good support, LOTRO will not be as popular as WAR or Age of conan.  WAR is looking good but EA does cast some doubts.

    MMO wish list:

    -Changeable worlds
    -Solid non level based game
    -Sharks with lasers attached to their heads
