How pathetic if thats the case.  Dumb arse developers never learn. Always shooting the messenger.
Well Mr. Brad (full of crap) Whateveryourlastnameis this is exactly why you are in the situation you are in right now.  No we don't even need to know your last name. All we have to say is that moron Brad who pissed away 35 million dollars. Oh yeah I know who you mean.
And it couldn't have happen to a better idiot.
One last time ... Censorship is bad ... Free speach is good.

I'm pretty sure that if terrorist Falafal would stand in your street, not doing any harm physicly but shouting "Alah is the greatest", "All none beleivers must die". I truly do not think that many in your street would agree on free speech always being good. And would take actions upon such a person. Now from my experiance its mostly when it fits people's agenda then they will always say free speech is good untill something is said that doesn't fit their agenda then suddenly its all wrong.....just saying....

And to be honost people that speak in such a way as in disrespect (see red text) should be censored.

This response shows how little understanding you have of the 1st Amendment.

Also to equate that with criticism of a video game developer (who IS an ASS for spending 30 mil only to have the game launch in the shape it did) to terrorism is pure idiocy.

Sorry but what he said about Brad is NOT disrespectful its the truth. The mmo industry is the only one I know that you can spend 30 mil on a project, launch it half-assed and not be booted on your ass faster than you can say "white on rice". That comment in red should in no way be censored AND is not disrespectful. It's the damn truth.

Its not the thruth  but it is his and maybe your opinion, sure makes it thruth for you afcourse and for those that have equely problems like you have with the game. But if this was the absolute thruth then you abviously would know that no one would play the game and that the game was indeed completly unplayeble, but somehow some of you can not and will not accept that there are people that might have some isseus with Vanguard but they are far from what some people try and make others believe. Would i say go buy this game, nope never i will always say try it with a buddy key or if money isn't that much of a issue which shouldn't be with mmorpg gamers atleast not those i know.

And come on you know better then that what i have meant with the terrorist thing, really you do if not then i'm sorry if you where not able to understand what it is i meant to say.

You seriously need to get some perspective if you are comparing an opinion about a video game to what someone making terrorist threats.

The fact is for 30 mil the game should not have had the number of issues it had when it launched. (It has gotten better, but THAT is NOT the point. For the amount of money spent by Brad, we should be NO WHERE near the idea that SOE is talking with them about a buyout, bailout, or whatever. That is just idioicy.)  That is the most expensive launch of an MMO to date.

And sorry it IS a fact. Brad himself came and posted that they needed more time to make it the launch it should have been.

Everyone has seen that post and that link, so I'm not going to post it again for you.

For the amount of money spent by Brad, Which we have absolute no clue whatsoever how that money is spend or if its all spend we should be NO WHERE near the idea that SOE is talking with them about a buyout, bailout, or whatever. And sorry it IS a fact. Brad himself came and posted that they needed more time to make it the launch it should have been. Yeah that is indeed fact don't know why to point that out as its common sense for everyone playing or knowing about Vanguard Everyone has seen that post and that link, so I'm not going to post it again for you. No need, but then again some people will continue to be ignorant and only understand things how they want to understand it without understanding how it is actualy meant. Sorry for the confusion but next time try and read abit better and also try and understand why someone makes a comment about terrorist. If you had understood that you would not have come back thinking i compared those two. Read the context and understand it next time you reply.

I'd prefer the users on this site to know both my personal and professional stances on games. If you feel that is unacceptable, than I'd advise you to simply ignore me.

That's all I'm going to say about it.
Some sites have their staff out in the open more than others. Gamespy for instance showed what their staff was playing whenever they had an article. Every single one was playing WOW for a long period of time. the staff didn't post anything negative that I saw,  but in general if you we're looking for a opinion that some other game was "better" than WOW then you didn't go to that site.  I personally want people to have opinions. I want to see reviewers ask "WTF were you thinking?" in a review. I want to see praise when warranted and codemnation where needed. To do that these guys have to play these games. Not just the two weeks they breeze thru a beta test for a review but really play the games. That means they are going to have opinions that might grate at some but also means we can see by  them honestly posting that they have more investment in the videogame community than just a paycheck. I think it's refreshing by comparison to some sites who seldom give descent reviews.  Most MMORPGs get anywhere from a 7.5-8.5 rating on most sites. When you look at the list of released games it is rather obvious to anyone with half a brain that not all of those game we're all above average games with only 1 point of quality difference between them.

If you're going to talk about freedom of speech, it might help to actually understand what the First Amendment does and doesn't do.

No, I've been OK'd on posting my opinion.

As I stated earlier, I said all I have to say about my posting styles.

I think I do realize why my colleagues avoid posting as much though. The frequent backlash and defending of your position is exhausting, and rather irritating.

This topic has dwindled way off-topic into a discussion on Freedom of Speech though. I find it entertaining.

Waiting for something fresh to arrive on the MMO scene...

MMORPG.COM knows crap when they see it!

Cymdai, the last line of this post is a fine example of why employees of a website that is supposed to be objective should not post opinion under thier site name, and should instead use anonymous psuedonyms.

Guy, this is the only review site I check on a daily basis, and enjoy for thier unbiased and objective articles for the past 3 years.  Money is made off of game companies that pay to advertise on this site.  What message does it send them when employees of that site post on a regular bases thier dislike and opinion that people shouldn't play a particular game?

I don't have to get paid to be objective to have an opinion, and I'm of the opinion that you preserve proffesionalism on your site when you'r employees don't post thier opinion under thier work name.  Newspapers have editorial sections so that thier employees have the oportunity to make thier opinion heard; they don't write it in the opinions section.  It's called journalistic integrety.  It's something I expect from any news site, regradless of the sort of news they write, but that's just me and my opinion.

Back to the add thing.  More hits translates to better oportunities for selling add space at a higher rate.  Considering this is possibly the most hostile site for fans of VG you'd think an effort would be made to make it less hostile to encourage more fans of the game to load this site on a more regular basis resulting in more hits to the site.  As it currently stands, this site dedicates resources to maintaning a forum for people to simply spread negetivety, and potentially drive fans of the game away from this site.  Kind of the  counter to a sucessfull business model I would think, and possibly why other sites don't allow thier employees to post thier opinion under thier employee site name.  Don't believe those sites have so much trouble with viruses and don't rely on the same few adds week after week, and instead have higher demand for add space.

Just saying, my opinion if I'm running a business and trying to make money I would do what I could to encourage the people that are going to make me the money to come to my site; not discourage.

The same could be said for you if you're only going to lie about Vanguard to potential customers.  I'm not a staff writer.  I have no interest whether it flops or is a hit, but I also know this game was NOT what it was hyped up to be when I bought it.  It's boring as hell and needs a TON of work.  Anyone who says otherwise is lying through their teeth.

I'd rather see a site, staff writer or whatever, tell the truth rather then lie like everyone else does these days for the Almighty buck.  It seems you have no problem with those types of people but see a problem with him.

Then you mention kids being swayed into not buying due to "bad influences" in your prior posts.  So you'd rather them get sucked into buying it just because it's business?  I'm not doing that.  I'm just a gamer.  I could care less who is losing money or making it.  The truth is what it is.  No use lying about it at this point or shutting up because of the "business market".  WTH???

And how old are you anyway?  Your spelling is atrocious for someone who is so worried about children being influenced not to buy it.

This is a sequence of characters intended to produce some profound mental effect, but it has failed.
