Not bashing, but just curious. Why did you have to label it your "gay marriage" and not just your marriage?

EQ1 plane of growth raid which i started as a 2 guild thing(back when pog opened) and then logged off after nearly 12 hrs to log back next day to see it was still going on just recycling members .Went on for nearly 3 days in total and saw loads of corpse retrievals

Typing out "What do you mean, 'Dorn incoming'?" only to be slaughtered before I could hit enter in North Ro, EQ. Oh, those noob days. :)

Maybe he was just pointing out that it was a merry and/or lively marriage? ;)

    People want more GM events.

I think any game that provided these would benefit from doing so.  I like the GM controlled Dragon or Skeleton Lord, but EVERYONE participating in the event receiving a reward.  I think people would appreciate things such as this.

Falling off the boat to Kunark halfway out in EQ1 and not wanting to pay for a corpse summon from drowning .. swam for WELL over an hour to get back to shore only to get eaten by that sea dragon thing in sight of land. That burns into my brain the hardest.

I have a few.  Mostly they are minor things, but they stick out for some reason.

Nearly getting murdered by a hill giant in the commonlands of EQ.  At the time it was the biggest MoB I had ever seen in a game.  Scary!

My first Dragon fight in PSO (yes, the regular dragon fight at the end of the forest).

The first time I got attacked by a tree in LotRO.

Driving around in my red landspeeder in SWG.

Making my first Adept level spell scroll in EQ II and summoning a spider instead of a beetle. WooT!

Stepping through the great portal on the night BC launched in WoW.  Very well done.

My first night of RvR in DAoC.

The first time I got super speed in COH.

I don't want to write this, and you don't want to read it. But now it's too late for both of us.

My most memorable moments was back in 1999 when Everquest came out and I was exploring the Commonlands it gave a sense of adventure, exploration and excitement that no games has ever successfully replicated so far. When I completed forging my first set of banded armor in the original Everquest I was overjoyed and actually felt accomplishment.

I've got a lot of fun memories from SWG, but there is one from WoW that sticks out above all other MMO moments.

I believe I was around level 44 Paladin at the time.  I was heading through Feralass when a 47 horde warrior started chasing me (PvP server).  I ran onto the boat heading to the Night Elf outpost, hoping the horde guy would either miss the boat or wouldn't follow.  No such luck though as he did follow.  I then decided to hop onto the beam and run the very edge of the bow (front of the boat).  I hoped he wouldn't be able to figure out how to jump onto the front plank before we landed at the night elf outpost.  Again no such luck as he figured it out.  So we stood facing each other on this tiny plank at the front of the boat for a few seconds.  I decided what the hell I might as well give him a run for his money.  I did a /beckon to the horde player and we had at it.  To my suprise I promptly owned him.

It was without a doubt the coolest PvP kill I have ever had in any MMO.

Well, I am not allowed to marry a man here, so it was special to me to be able there. We were both gay males in RL who played gay chars. (I mean, most straights play straight chars as well, so.) It was special as marriage, but in this it was especially special for us.

Or the time me and my friend single handedly killed a full group of 8 in daoc Molvik battleground by luring them into the water when we had water breathing pots and they didnt, circled and picked them off like sharks one by one lol.

Killing Onyxia in WoW for the first time, and a 3am relic raid in DAoC, are by far my most memorable mmorpg moments.

UO, pre-trammel. Sneaking into peoples' houses when they forgot to lock the doors, then stealing anything not locked down. Then inviting my brothers and friends over to my tower and running around talking smack to my neighbors until it was a full-on battle between them and us. I finally killed him, took his favorite t-shirt and locked it down on my front porch where he had to see it every day he went home to his house.

Of all the games I've played, UO was the best MMO because it had the most options, freedom, and consequences.

LOL, i'd have to say my first experience is my most memorable.....

I bought EQ1, installed it while reading the manual... and created a half elf.  I spawned in Surefall glade and ventured outside.  The huge world outside the door took my breath away, and rather then start killing I decided to explore a bit.  The first thing of interest I spotted was what looked kind of like stonehenge up on a hill.... so I walked up to it (no monsters in sight!) and as soon as I stepped inside the bones on the ground jumped up and formed skeletons!  The skeletons raped me and I found myself on my first corpse run....  It took me at least two more deaths to realized that I didn't have any need to get my level one corpse back out of stonehenge, and until I came to that realization I was terrified!

Next thing I remember was a few weeks later it was holloween.  Playing the same toon in Qeynos Hills on holloween the sky turned blood red and there were "high level" undead everywhere!!! What a rush that gave me.  During that holloween event I found a quest in Qeynos (possibly my first quest!) to deliver a piece of mail to High Hold Keep.  I was about level 11, and had no clue what I was getting into.. and it was during the holloween event no less!  The only thing I remember was making the trek up the deserted mountain ramp leading up into HHK.. then the sky went blood red again and a big black phantom squished me.... that was the end of that quest!  I managed to retrieve my corpse and get my but back to safe-ish territory.

    Good times!

(AC1) Hunting with my blademaster at the Mosswort Fort next to Hebian-to. It was fun, especially when you had a dozen other folks grinding out the same area against what would be next to impossible alone. :) I haven't found an experience quite like that in any other MMO.

I remember one of the roleplaying server of DAoC had the lurikeen uprise (or something like that dunno the exact name anymore). A whole guild of lurikeen that was lvling as fast as the could. When a large group of them was lvl30 they went RvRing in the normal RvR zones. About 4 lvl50 got swarmed by this lurikeen invasion force (think it was about 300 lvl30) and actaully won the battle. It was a blast, especially because the one of the lvl50 guys we got down reported he couldn't stop lauging for 10 minutes so because of all those little lurikeen comming at him

My first day playing PlanetSide...Nothing can compare to your first time playing an FPS with 400 other people...

Grouping:  Too many of them, would be unfair to try to relate any here, I will just give you my lesser memorables moment below.

Solo: Pre-I3...a 15 minutes fight, where Battle Maiden kills me twice...but I eventually solo her!  Was great fun.  I actually spit for real when she kills me as I hit Revive...meaaahhhh  spitting in da house...never did that ever before or again.  I was quite in.

PvP: 3 gankers jump me as I am about to turn for my nuke in Warbug (CoV)...I activate Power Surge prior since I am a paranoid and after they attack me I activate, Demonic, 4 purples, runs a little around, come back and somehow land in a very improbable area that you can't attack from land, so they have to either fly or jump while I activate the computer...and I was able to get my nuke in front of them...and leave unscatched.

Raiding: Way back in time...before I aggro against raiding...in Kael, we where just noobs...and the GL was sure it was going to be a wipe...and I just start working my charms and slow...and save the day.  Good memory...the clerics all refuse to camp when ordered to...yet a ranger did camp!  The GL was furious!

PvP: (CoV), a MM try to TP me, I tease him cause I am immune to TP.  He comes rushing me with his pets...funny MM, attacking a elec/ela brute...results he tries to flee and got pwned by some arachnoids on the way out!  He decides to run as he saw his pets dying...dying...dying...and his health bar was problematic...he try to run...in front of Arachnoids.  Hehe, knowing he lost XP because he runs like a school girl make my day.  When you choose a fight and attack in PvP, don't run...you run when you are attacked, not when you attack!

My most memorable moment in an MMO: discovering that a female-serving-male oral intercourse icon is coded into UO: Age of Shadows and possible to show on the screen.

Really weird, ain't it? But I just can't get it off my mind.

Man i was really hoping you were gonna say you /beckon him and he stepped forward and fell off the boat lol

Lol do any other UO'ers remember how you'd hear from someone that a house might decay and fall soon, so youd get there as fast as possible only to find 200 other people standing perfectly around it waiting for 2 hours till it fell and all the loot on the inside would be lootable.

    Great thread.

My most memorable moment was while playing my Troll Shaman in EQ1 (Bloorgg Stinkfist) and waiting for those damn boats.  We were waiting for the little ferry to carry us out to the Bloated Belly from Ro, and my brother and I hated... no despised, waiting on boats.  Finally we get on this little raft and somehow I manage to fall off about 3/4 of the way to the zone line.  SHIT!

Quickly as I could, I cast levitate, SOW, and started SPRINTING across the water towards the ferry, or else it would zone without me.  You guys remember the old Troll skins and animations, where the trolls would lean forward and run on those squat little legs?  Wearing a giant horned helmet that stuck way out?

My brother was dying laughing, jumping and taunting me, and the raft was juuuust a little slower than me + SOW + LEV, so I ended up catching it in a split-nanosecond tie between the zone line and my foot hitting the raft, and I managed to zone in on the raft.  I'm not sure why I always had a hard time staying on board all those ships... maybe because I was so bored.
