still drooling in anticipation for this game after so long, maybe 2007 will be the year our hopes come true! There is still a strong demand for a game like this for so long you would think they would capitalize on it this year and get some money for there product atlast.
wow this thread is really old...i didnt really know that they said it was going to be released in 04...i have just recently started lookin at darkfall and i cant wait for it to come out...i like the way the game sounds and all the stuff i heard about it is nothing but good things....as for the release date i know that it wont be this year for sure i mean they havent even started beta testing with the clans but it might be a good thing cause burning crusade is bout to come out and thats a lot of competition...someone earlier said that it might come out 2nd quarter of 07...i think that would be a really good time cause burning crusade would just have enough time for ppl to want a change
I have real life friends that have been waiting since 2001..and they did never tell me about it
One of my friends is a clan leader from Shadowbane..and they will have a "object" in DF with their clan name on it. He played with the devs (DF) and become friends.
i feel sorry for the people that have waited 6-7 years for this game to come out. But im just glad i only discovered it 1 year ago now i hopefully wont have to wait 3-5 years. But in any case in the next 3-4 years well know if DFO was a fake or we will learn the release date. ( the real release date not a "maybe sometime next year")

The main development phase began at the beginning of 2003, this game has been in development under the umbrella of Aventurine since they absorbed Razorwax. This has been going on for some 4 1/2 years, and not 7 years like some morons keep bringing up; I am curious what they do at E3 last year they showed a playable DF demo that was over a year ago. Aventurine is the publisher, but they need probably a distributor/publisher to launch advertising and create the boxes and mass produce the gameing softwere that wil be ready for shipping.
One of the better thing about the devlopment cycle of this game that we have been able to witness the evolution of the game, going from Alpha video to the recently released vid. But we still don't know exactly how long till release; technically speaking we have never been given a firm date, just a general indication of when and as we know that changed within the development cycle.
The good thing is that the January update confirming that they're in the process of polishing and finishing content and getting ready; but It would be nice to know how much in terms of % wise is done. I don't think the beta will be before E3, though I think theyre will be quite a bit of surprises released at E3 and we might possibly get a firm date on beta and release at least I hope so.

Its a good thing that the graphics are the most important thing also, I wouldnt' want to play a game with "decent" graphics and "amazing unbelievable free and open" gameplay anyways.
I hope it lives up to what it states, believe me when I say that. I just gave up on this game about a year ago and recently quit VSoH because it sucks and got REPISSED off about this one not being ready. Maybe I'll go check out "you tube" and see if it looks good now. I obviously havent checked anything out about this game in a couple months now. Man this has to be the oldest thread on MMORPG I have ever read. Sorry to say this gang but not as a hater just as a curious player looking in Darkfall is very much te deffinention of vaporware. Still I hope I'm wrong more games to play is generally a good thing. Though by now one would think the Base engine for Darkfall would be almost ancient (in computer tech)
Basing that number on nothing except for the fact i'll be finished highschool by then -.-

Age of Conan is looking into looting, and separating PVE gear from PvP gear. As PVE gear will suck in PvP.

No wonder it's taking so long to finish DarkFall; probably pretty difficult to find willing interanal testers.
