My prediction is that this expansion will suck big time (as it seems quite rushed) and could mark the beginning of the slow, slow loss of subbers.
They won't lose subs. Their current tactic is when they lose subs in one area they open up the game in another. Just look at their newly listed 9mil number. Notice how they opened up to china (the worlds largest population) and it only went up 500k? It went up probly around 2mil, but they didn't record the loss of the other areas leaving the game.
Hopefully the new expansion will do something innovative since they have yet to do that with this game.
they didnt just open up to china, they did that quite a while ago.. and it didnt go up 3 mill, its closer to 5 mill.. and it was back when subs were at like 5 or 6 million.. but yo uare still right.. i think subs are dropping in NA/EU, but they are going up enough in asia that the total keeps rising.. too bad they hardly make any money off them..

Sweet. Gear will be outdated again and you'll have to level again! Only a few more times of this happening and you can actually stop raiding 40 hours a day for upgrades!

I dont know anything about new expansions. But I was thinking it would be cool if the undead cookie monster dropped a shield called Oatmeal Raisin

Hey man, Blizzard needs to do something to make this game fun. For once.
One thing that is essential, though. The Death Knight HAS to have an undead horse. Anything else would be blasphemy.

Not only do I believe that this is fake, I sincerely hope that it is fake. Right now the last thing WoW needs is more of the same. And that is exactly what this perceived expansion is. Its more and more of the same thing which made WoW in the first place. The problem is I don't want that. I'm sick of it. I've played your instance for two years, I've done your battlegrounds, I've done your raiding, I've played your arenas. And I am sick of it. You need new blood in your game. You need more classes, you need more varied types of gameplay. You need something that will be new and original and not just more of the same old stuff we got two years ago. And people are going to quit, if everything they worked for, for the past year becomes completely useless once greens the next zones drop that have better stats then your epics. I've seen people quit because of this before and I'm sure more will again. I know I will.

Well there you have it. I'm a bit scepticle on the Death Knight class myself. It's another goal to work towards but I imagine a Druid becoming a Death Knight to be rather wierd. It would take more work but I would rather have an Alpha class for each class that gains a handful of additional abilities along with a new class title.
Edit: Actually reading the faq is enlightening. I guess you can unlock the ability to create a new character as a Death Knight that plays at a high level.
Well, looks like I'm gonna be returning to WoW. Was planning on picking up AoC or Warhammer but when I saw the trailer and the features... man I slapped myself for having quit 3 months ago. Now I gotta see if my guild will take me back.

WAR will score big, but wont destroy WoW, plus Wow expansion gets some RvR, theres a zone thats 100% PvP with towns and outposts that can be taken by force inc siege weapons and the results of the zone will effect the game world of Northrend. Thats all the info we got so far but sounds like a step in the right direction, staying PvE at the core but adding more PvP.
But as always want PvE go WoW, want PvP go WAR (if it lives up to the hype).

They talk about the northlands which is something Guild Wars is basing their new exapnsion on (can we say ripoff of GW ?). They are also adding inscriptions which is another GW feature lol. Wrath of the Lich King ? (can we say Lotr title ripoff) it just keeps getting worse. When will Blizzard actually become original? Also the Lich King looks like chaos in Warhammer. It just keeps getting worse. I will not buy this but for those who like it have fun.

All the people who are saying wow is "copying" other games, please read this thread i opened a while ago. It explains why this can not be called copying! It's business strategy and ALL developers are doing it.
Well the expansion details really don't excite me and I can probably free myself up 5 GB on my computer now! It could be good with the pvp siege and that- if this is anything like Dota, but I did kind of expect more.

*sighs* Some of you are over the top. I don't even play WoW much anymore as EQ 2 has my interest at this point. Still...your points are a bit of a stretch. They didn't just make up Northrend. It has always been a part of Warcraft's lore before Guild Wars was even a thought. So no they weren't copying...and quite honestly if you know anything about fantasy whether through books or whatever they forever have the bad asses coming from the north. This is nothing new. And the lich king has always been part of their lore as well. Did the writers way back when get the idea from Tolkien's Lord of the Rings writing? Umm....all fantasy did. Where have you been? But they didn't see the game and say 'Wow let's have a Lich King too!' He was that before their was a WoW in the Warcraft console games. I never even played their console games and I know this already...sheesh.
And as someone stated all these games copy other games in some extent. In fact it is this way in the business world period. It bothers you that much don't touch that Pepsi, 7up, Burger King, Popeyes and blah blah blah. Nothing new people so get over that fact. What should bother most more is it seems like it will be for the most part be the same game play as before. But to each their own. Not enough to make it my full time MMO right now. They would have reveal something new in regards to their gameplay. Can care less if they get the idea from another game. It's about how they implement into their own.
