I haven't voted on Aion but if I did it would be zero. All I've seen are some videos of people running around. I have friends who do computer animation and texturing work that can make videos that good, so seeing good videos for a game means zilch to me. I need to see something about, y'know, actual gameplay before there's any reason for me to hype a game. I think a lot of people feel similarly. The game isn't even in beta yet...there's no reason to be hyped about it.

ER..anyway, the only thing I look at hype on this site for, is that generally if a game has over a 6 the graphics are decent enough to bother checking the game out, other than that the ratings are unfortunately useless.

* It helps showing you're right when you speak only good of the game, as others are likely to do so aswell.
* It's a ridiculous part of the ever-going "which game is better?" feud, even though it doesnt indicate anything worth noticing.
* It shows that others are following and anticipating the game too.
* It shows that other people have seen the good things about the game.
* It could help the developers realize "heck, we must be doing something right".
...and probably many more reasons.

You know, all of those rating are nothing. Why? Because EQ2 has high ratings if you look at the "good" game ratings. I hate everything about EQ2, I played this game for a 2 monthes in the beginning and another 2 few times ago with all addons and I really hate this game, it annoys me very much.
Other ppl like this game. That's why all of those ratings mean nothing for me.
If you want to find a good game, don't listen to others and check it by yourself to be sure for 100%.

So you're saying western games can't fail? What happened to Vanguard? Matrix Online? Auto Assault? Dark & Light? Generalizing eastern developed games is as bad as generalizing western games.
The only thing that is important here is that Aion is developed also for a western, casual audience, whereas the most (I would believe all) of the ones you mentioned above were not. The developers have stated time after time how they have been made aware of modern players' demands on content, story and depth in games. Because RF Online was a shallow "cookie cutter" grinder, doesn't mean Aion will be. Just as Dark & Light which was a buggy horror from hell doesn't mean Age of Conan will be. Perpetual made the not-very-successful DDO, but returned with LOTRO. Despite of what we think of the individual cases presented by me here, generalization is bad. So let's refrain from it. I hope we're better than that.

some of the video are the actual gameplay, the graphic is very nice, but however graphic isn't everything, just wait till it launched.

they're not going to tokyo this year, dont think they did last year either (i read it on aionsource). That show is mostly about console games anyway.
