    Hellgate

SWG because I never looked forward to any of the other titles.

  • StellosStellos Member UncommonPosts: 1,491

I would say SWG for the changes that made it such a poor game, but orgininally when it came out I loved it!  VSoH is the biggest let down for releases because it was so buggy and laggy that it wasn't even playable.  I heard there have been improvements, but it still only runs perfectly on extremely high priced machines.

SWG, god it could have been brilliant.

Tho never tried vanguard but dunno, what I keep reading from it it's kinda a second SWG: Lot's of potential but we'll never see it at it's fullest. (Want to trial it tho! So hurry up with that island allready! :p)

Easily Tabula Rasa followed closely by Hellgate.  Those two games looked to be more than just the typical crap we've already played.

Maybe I'm just getting older because it seems impossible that all these new mmo's I try really do suck as bad as they seem.  Frankly now not a single mmo besides Huxley in development interest me anymore.  Thank God the fps scene is still pumping out good games like TF2 and Crysis just to name a couple.

  • turnipzturnipz Member Posts: 531

And even huxley will probably suck if it has a crappy skillset like hellgate does.

At least the world will be interesting to explore unlike hellgate, thats for sure.

Hellgate for me. Came in below expectations... way below.

All Asian MMO's - their all the same - it's sickening.

It reminds me of factory workers - little ants - all huddled around their work stations doing the same mindless repetitive thing day after day after day....

WOW.... a game I had a lot of fun with while leveling up characters and grew to hate once I immersed myself in the raid centric end game.....

I never again will play a game that has a PVE centric focus......  (WOW was first I really ran into that btw.... as my previous games had included Lineage 1/2, DAOC, Shadowbane)

    I know better now...

    D&D Online

I never could imagine that such a perfect game system could be destroyed so easily as an MMO

SWG because even in its better state (pre-cu) I still didn't feel in the middle of the galactic civil war.

  • herculeshercules Member UncommonPosts: 4,925

Though most never tried it but roma victor for me because i was actually very intrested in playing it.Next i guess would be D&L

  • dirtyjoe78dirtyjoe78 Member Posts: 400

I would have to say that all of the above for not delivering what they promised, DDO would probably be the worst one considering how much they had to work with as far as lore and rule sets and such i mean jesus they just had to translate it from paper to video and they managed to screw that up, followed closely by SWG again with a huge amount of lore and such to draw on for the making and it came up short, vanguard...well the craptasticness speaks for itself, TR was different but nothing spactacular just didn't get my attention and hold it.  the sest B&W and roma i never had any interest in.

You complain that all asian MMO's  all the same, yet if one were to look at your posts it becomes quite obvious that almost all of your posts are the same: bashing anything that comes from asia.

    The irony is just overwhelming.

anyway, the biggest dissapointment was Dark & light. the quality is so low, it's downright criminal.

  • PyndaPynda Member UncommonPosts: 856

Dark & Light was a game that sounded fantastic to me on paper. But I never invested any of my time (or much less importantly, my money) into it, so it was no huge loss.

SWG, on the other hand, was a MMORPG I played and truly liked - the first time I had felt that good about a MMORPG since AC1. I just knew SWG was going to be 'it'. But nevertheless I quit just a few months after launch fully intending to return when the bugs were ironed out, and when the devs had settled down with their completely mindless spree of reactionary style nerfing (I was a CH).

As I remember I was reading the various SWG forums and manuals again, getting ready to push the subscribe button the very week the NGE came out. What a huge letdown. It was clear the game was being flushed down the crapper. But I still have hope I'll soon be playing pre-NGE SWG once more. However on this site I'm not permitted to tell you why, although a lot of you already know.

    Hellgate london

  • mehhemmehhem Member Posts: 653

SWG, its by far the only game that has really pissed me off.  Vanguard and others were disappointing, but I felt like I lost a friend when the CU and then the NGE hit...

  • JonnyBigBossJonnyBigBoss Member UncommonPosts: 702

There have been a lot of disappointments. The one I keep hearing about is Vanguard. I personally didn't plan on playing it but I've heard it was a huge letdown.

For me it would have to be DDO. D&D has so much content and history, but yet completely destroyed. They could have made a nice explorable world like Forgotten Realms, or Greyhawk, and built a nice set of adventures and quests within the world, and had a nice overall story to add to it (like I said lots of existing content and history). But no..... Lets turn DDO into a bunch of metaphors. The DDO equivalent of the kitchen table is now called Stormreach, and the paper adventure module is now turned into an instance...... Don't know about you, but there ain't much to explore on a kitchen table.

    The Matrix Online

It was a sad day in MMO history when that game was released. Played it for a week than stopped. I was pissed off that I wasted my money on it.

I stopped expecting to much from MMO's. Most are a let down anyway. I want W.A.R and A.O.C to be great games. On the other hand I expect to be disappointed.

  • osc8rosc8r Member UncommonPosts: 688

    WOW.

Actually, every MMO since AC1 now that I think of it.

  • GotredeGotrede Member UncommonPosts: 46

Vanguard, easily. Although I've never really met any big disappointments till the buggy V came around. I'm one of the lucky ones who bought the collectors edition..
