WOW is difinitely not one of my favorites. Game is just repetive. Main reason is have do the same instance over and over to move to the next one. Guess some people like raiding same zone over and over before they can do next one. Felt more like a job than EQ 1 where i was in a raid guild but at least could raid different stuff in any order for good loots when i played pre luclin.
SWG had best crafting I ever seen, When i played rest of game sucked. No good quests at all.
Playing LOTRO right now and its better than alot of other MMOs i played.
Everquest 2 was a pretty good game too when i played. Its one of better MMORPGs that has released in last few years i played.
Warhammer Online is my number 1 as next game I am going to difinitely try. I may try AOC but videos of in game footage of gameplay just don't impress me at all.
I tried a bunch more but none was too impressive. So hopefully next wave of MMORPGs will at least have a few fun ones in the future.
PvP, PvE for loot or creature harvesting, Crafting, base busting, totally open Faction combat system, great social options, guild activities, space combat, badge hunting, trading, mining. Always something to do, and always something different to do.
Nothing like that now or since the NGE killed SWG.
Abyss had like a 6 team capture the flag ruleset with the flag right in the middle of each teams castle. I remember polying into a chicken and running in to cap the flag good times. When the server was removed I cried it was a horrible day in UO history!
and
Daoc was awesome I love the whole RvR thing taking keeps and killing every lurikeen around.
The next mmo on my list has to be WAR.
Reading what the devs have to say and what they are adding to the game just brings back the good memories of daoc. Just hope it lives up to my own personal hype.
For me it's Asheron's Call. It's complexity and openness remain tough to match. While there were always storylines one could follow (some absolutely colossal) , one didn't have to participate in them to enjoy or progress in the game.
In terms of PvP, I would say DAoC's realm vs realm combat. It combined the challenge of competeing against other live players with the thrill of knowing that your actions were affecting the larger (pve) world as well.

Pre-Trammel Ultima Online. Best game ever, period. If they ever rolled back the ruleset to that time then Ultima would see a boom of subscribers. I don't know why EA is so stupid and just doesn't do it. I would pay for some sort of lifetime subscription if that is what it took. I would pay $200 up front for them to have to server up for life. I am desperate for what I consider to be the best ever... EA, just fucking make it already!
Yes! You speak the truth.
Pre-Trammel UO was it. The game to end all games. Closer to being "real" and feeling like your character was actually you then ANYTHING released since. If you died with your best weapon, then oops you may not have it anymore. It kept people focused on gaming and playing and socializing because you weren't trying to get the next cool epic items.
And you could dress up your character to how you wanted, change hair cuts, dye hair and clothes, remember when the true black dye tubs surfaced!!! DAMNNNNNN
It was a great game... Pre-Trammel UO with WoW graphics and polish and it would be a multi million subscriber game. No companies want to balls up and make a game like it because if the game is not carebear then you lose a large majority of the market. If they die once and lose their sweet sword they will quit. Really sad but true.
Oh and I didn't know that many people like EQ... I played it for 6 months to a year and it was really not all that good...
Old Skool Ultima Online Junky Bring back the OLD UO so I can play again
if wow didn't have factions or battlegrounds it would be a tough call
it's funny how EVE is fun because of the pvp and wow is a worse game cause of the pvp
Which Final Fantasy Character Are You? if I were to kill a titan tomorrow and no CCP employees showed up to say grats I would petition it. Waiting for: the next MMO that lets me make this macro if hp < 30 then CastSpell("heal") SpellTargetUnit("player") else CastSpell("smite") end
AC1 Darktide - will never forget the intensity of the PVP fights in this game, and the world immersion it brought. Hands down the best GAME I have ever played bar none.
UO pre-tram would be second, followed by swg-pre cu + pre jedi.
Everquest is the MMO I enjoyed the most. I played it for over 3 years.
Unless Everquest has changed, I would not recommend it for new players. The lower level zones were empty and it is impossible to level many of the classes as they cannot solo and there are no low level groups.

DDO
EQ Pre Rise Of Kunark.
DAOC
D.
Favourite mmo of all time is Myth of Soma, just a shame it got hacked or I would still be playing it today. WoW is a close 2nd.
DAOC is most fun I had. RVR is always fun.
Everquest 1 would be my only second.

Easily Dark Age of Camelot
Pre-CU SWG

the best online game i ever played was guild wars.
Best I've played would have to be a tie between
UO - Abyss server

MMORPG's aren't really that fun... but I'd have to say instant 70 private server for WoW.

Diablo 3 and
Starcraft 2 are
At our Doorsteps!
We can only hope that they
will come really soon.
Pre-nge swg, though I preferred pre-cu to the cu. WoW is second just because of how well its made.
Is a man not entitled to the herp of his derp?
Remember, I live in a world where juggalos and yugioh players are real things.

Pre CU/NGE SWG. I really miss that game.

Remember man that passes by,
as you are now so once was I.
And as I am so must you be,
prepare yourself to follow me.
EQ without a doubt. Pre POK Books and Bazaar EQ to be more precise.

Another vote for Pre-CU SWG here.
