Hey warhammer WHERE is your black people at?

sorry if the title sounds abrupt, but iam a proud black man. It pains me to see that games like warhammer will be release any dark skinned color races, or have any true black people in the game, like for instance Vanguard and guildwars both have REAL black people with real black features, not just a white character with a dark shade skin option. This is what happens in warhammer, i know the old argument "Because its in medivel times or what ever but there were black people then and very dark skinned color people then.
This is not a medivel mmorpg its a mmorpg set in a different universe why cant black people or other races reside in Warhammer? This isnt trying to make a argument post but its ashame in most mmorpgs i can only play one race a human.

The game may be in another universe, but it is in Warhammer's universe. If such a universe has no black people, then it makes no sense to insert them into the game.
I don't know, this seems to be more about being politically correct than being true to an intellectual property, and I am always against being PC for the sake of being PC.
I predict this thread is going to degrade into an all-out flame war, by the way.
Warhammer has lore thats been written decades ago, everything they put in now, they do so at the whim of Games Workshop. Even if they wanted to, Mythic couldnt make the decision to add a race of african physiology.
This is something you need to to take to Games Workshop.

Like the other poster said, this post seems about being PC than being loyal to the IP. I prefer they be loyal to the IP, if you love Warhammer and 40k as much as other people you would probably feel the same way.
I love a good game as the next but IPs can change for the better look at lord of the rings they give you different race options as well not just white everything. Id like to play some one of my race in a mmo for a change.

Yes it would, since the African continent of Warhammer's world is filled with undead. Or rather, the northen parts of Africa are owned by the Tomb Kings, an former Egyptian civilization turned undead while the middle/southern part is inhabitated by Lizardmen. Oh, Lizardmen are similar to the Aztec/Inca indian tribes in South America.
There's though a small arabic population living by the Mediterranean (or what is the Mediterranean on the WH map), not sure that helps though.
And, for the love of god, this is a game, don't bring your pride here.

LOTRO doesn't add races that weren't in the IP.
Being an Arab American, I understand where you're coming from. What game gives you an arab race to choose from (besides Vanguard of course)? I always have to be a white, black, or asian dude.
But, I also agree that games should stay true to their ip's. If that means no Arab race, then I must deal with it I guess. If such a Race already exists in an ip, then fine, but I don't think that devs should turn their projects into politically correct playgrounds. Just 2cents from a fellow U.S Minority.

I seriously doubt any game developer (leave out for a moment how races work in the actual IP) thinks its worth their while to try and include all ethnicities in a game just for the sake of being race balanced. I know if I saw such a game I would think "cripes, more PC nonsense...when will it end?"
I am white but even if I were black, arab, korean, or whatever, I wouldn't be obsessing over such a thing. I would first and foremost be concerned with if it was another Vanguard or, God forbid, another Sword of the New World.

Before this thread turns into the devil in games thing I'm going to throw in my IBTL. It's my "I was here" stamp which probably isn't a good idea since more then likely this whole thread will get deleted and none of this will count toward my post count or rank.
I have presonally never looked at games this way. I never cared what most of the people on the other end looked like. I have friends from all races/religions/creeds/colors and none of them have ever given a damn. What set you off? I just want to know.
A good portion of the games out there now give you the ability to change your appearance which includes skin color. Some even allow you to morph the face to make it look like whatever you want. But every so often you can't always get what you want.
Now lets see how long this thread will fester before it becomes one giant cespool of flames, racial slurs and what not.

Who cares, this is a fantasy game. I certainly don't roll up a human system admin when I play these things.
Besides, we don't even know what options you get a character creation for sure at this point. For all we know they could have a skin colour slider by release.

Okay I hate to say it but the original poster obviously just wasn't thinking this through, and didn't do any research. Not to mention most importantly, the OP is using a double standard. If you want equality, you get what everyone else gets. Honestly I think he was just trying to create some controversy (troll even?).
First of all, he didn't state what he wanted, other than basically "black people" which doesn't narrow it down at all. Does he want zulu-style warriors? Does he want voodoo practicioners? Does he want people who are the same as everyone else but of "black" descent? You won't get the first two, there really aren't any in Warhammer lore, which is what the main subject is. It's just the way the world has evolved. Notice I use "black" instead of "african" because in warhammer, there's no Africa. Perhaps there's african-style landscapes, but maybe humans don't live there. Maybe Lizardmen do. Maybe it's the part of the deserted lands where the skaven have tunneled under and infected with the volatile warpstone. Maybe it's part of the lands where the Lich King has since snuffed out all life and is only inhabited by the bleached bones of the walking undead. As far as I know, there's no true asian themed characters in the game. Why? Likely because there doesn't happen to be Asia in the game. It stands to reason that it's simply because no asian style culture rose to power at this point in the mythology. To stress the point, it's a FANTASY game. It's defined by the fact that it is NOT REAL. Get over it.
I'm guessing what the original poster wants is someone who has the facial features and body-type of a real life african-descended person. This goes back to the equality thing. You get what everyone else gets. Everyone else gets a character that looks like he's from ONE OF THE AREAS IN THE LORE. Everyone gets a generic model for the race of their chosen side, and then whatever skin colours or faces etc they put in the game. Maybe I want a character who looks scottish, or irish. Does that mean I'm gonna get it? I doubt it. If I'm from the empire, I look like everyone else from the empire. If my skin is white or dark, I'm still just someone from the empire. But lets say we should get our own real life race represented in the fantasy game by claiming racial insensitivity. They're gonna put in a scottish model, a saxon model, an irish model, an anglo model, an african model, a carribean model, a latino model, a greek model, a russian model a japanese model, a chinese model, a korean model, an australian model, etc. Great right? Oh by the way for them to do all that, they have to push the game back two more years while they make those models for every race and class combo. But it sure will be nice to have a Dark Elf that looks like he's Native American, or an Orc that looks like he's Russian, right?
For anyone who's actually done research, there are other "racial styles" in the game. There are arabic styled characters. Does that mean we're gonna get to play them from the start? Absolutely not. We might, but we'll likely have to wait for them just as we'll have to wait for undead, or skaven, or lizardmen.
In the end, it all comes back to the lore. If there are no "black" people in the Warhammer lore, that's too bad. That's just the way the lore and game happened to evolve. When you want to try to change that lore, you are trying to change the intellectual property of others which has made the game what it is today. Wanting to do that is absolutely despicable. Games Workshop has been living and breathing this world for 25 years, that's longer than half of us have been alive. It's their baby and their property, and they can do with it what they like.
And Shame on you for wanting to change their intellectual property to suit your whims.

Gotta say, I absolutely agree with the OP on this one. they should add an African race to WAR. And while they are at it, add French and Canadian to WoW. And Everquest I think is completely racist for not adding Mexicans to the list in between cat people and lizards. I am disappointed in the closed mindedness of people these days. How day they come up with completely fantastical universes, separated apart from the real world and all of its political (and politically correct) BS? I am so personally offended.

I find games that lack evidence of the reality we live in are some of the best you will ever play in your life. Though, not fitted to your particular style of what you may find "right", still, its a game, and a game has to make the majority happy before the individual, unless there is only one person playing, then you can do whatever and however you please to keep that customer.
I'm amazed that men like you can be so shallow, thick and slow. There is not a man among you who will care whether I come or go....not one...not one of you
