Lol, to get 2000 rating you have to not suck.. That's a good one. Except WoW pvp is just based on class and talents before it is gear. I remember my paladin would punch warriors to death (no weapon equipped) without having to cast any spells except seal of righteousness. Lots of skill in that. How about how warlocks are the most overpowered class and they always have been.. Lots of skill there too I see. You're a joke, saying that PvE warriors don't need stamina. Who do you think tanks NPCs? rogues?
I've never seen such idiotic comments as the ones you just posted. Lol the PvE gear has LESS stamina because PvE warriors just need to DPS. Did you think your dumb explanations would actually not be noticed? You may think there is some purpose to putting "PvE stats on PvP items", but I just see it as a lack of thought. You can't say that their stats should be mutually exclusive. It's a pathetic attempt by blizzard to try and design 2 sets of gear but they failed miserably because the PvP gear is far superior. Agi is simply worthless for a warrior so you basically raid a very difficult instance for worse gear (more difficult than getting the pvp shoulders). lol @ u and lol @ wow
Wow dude. Chill out.
2000 personal arena rating means you have to win over (i think) it's 40-50 games in a row because you start at 1500. Then you have to maintain that rating by not losing. Yes, you do have to not suck to maintain a 2000 personal Arena rating. You fail.
PvE warriors do need stamina. You misread because you only see what you want to hear. PvE warriors don't need AS MUCH stamina because a GOOD dps warrior shouldn't be taking much damage if any. Tanking warrior OBVIOUSLY need stamina in PvE. PvP is all about surviving the fight for longer then 3 seconds, hence, why EVERY piece of PvP gear has stamina and resilience on it. Stamina so that you can last the duration of the fight, and resilience to prevent yourself from getting crit to death very quickly. You fail.
PvP gear is NOT far superior. If you actually play WoW, which I doubt, you could ask ANYONE how well someone in full PvE gear does in PvP. Or ask ANYONE how well someone in full PvP gear does in PvE.
BG gear is easier to get only because it requires less support from other people. You can enter every BG solo and get Season 1 arena gear and OK weapons, rings, trinkets etc. If you really want to be "good" at PvP you have to do Arena, because the gear is SO much better. If you think it's easy to maintain a 2000 personal Arena rating, tell me what your WoW characters name is and what server you play on, I'll look you up in the Armory. It's all about the team and group composition in Arena, especially 5vs5.
If you actually have season 2 and 3 gear and a personal rating of 2000 or over, I'll shut my mouth. Unfortunately, someone with your maturity will probably just browse the armory till you find a random character that has these things, and then post a link here and tell me it's you, but I won't believe you.
You need to chill out man. I'm not trying to personally attack you, but you are personally attacking me. Over a game. A silly game.
You wanted "facts" so I give them to you and come back with childish insults and NO facts to support your arguments.
You fail. Sorry.
Honestly, the PvP gear and PvE gear is designed to work well with certain talent builds. PvP gear for PvP talent builds, PvE gear for PvE talent builds. Proof? Do you see any protection warrior PvP gear? No.
I could wear full Season 3 Arena PvP gear and try and go DPS a high level instance while Arms spec (PvP warrior build) , but I won't even come close to the same DPS as a Fury spec warrior in Tier 6 PvE gear.
I could also wear full Tier 6 PvE DPS gear and I would get my *ss handed to me by people with PvP talent builds and Season 3 Arena gear.
I am seeing alot of these sorts of threads lately across the gaming board. Its a valid point and a good discussion. When discussed amicably that is. But the fact so many of these have shown up lately speaks volumes.
For one I beleive it always happens. In any art form or business the trend is to start off fresh and new then as soon as its possible go for the mass market sell. Which means watering down innovation and copycats. No matter what you look at. Music, movies and art. What happens then is the good stuff stays underground while the big business do their best to keep their products in the light and even keep the quality things in the dark. So the good innovation doesnt get the recognition it deserves. In this case good games have low sub turnouts and sales. Its unfortunate and maybe even unjust.
But the problem doesnt just lie with the sell out devs and greedy big businesses. No many consumers of these games impulse buy for one. And often allow themselves to be carried along with the hype. I used to DJ at a club and played in a small room upstairs. We played less established music and had alot of compliments. ut only a few regulars. And even my friends who much preferred our music stayed downstairs with occasional visits. Why? Because everyone else was down there. And its a similar thing with gaming. Classic sheep mentality. And as global corporatisation grows ever bigger and faster we see how its influance grows tighter. ence the game market fell under the big business control and became so comercialised faster than music or movies did.
Take World of Warcraft. Huge commercial success. But it comes under fire alot because for one, we have "wrenchers" people who always attack whats popular. Even though half the time they take part. But more important of all are the other reasons WoW gets criticised. Its not innovative or have a great gameplay. Even the graphics are sub par. It is by no means a great game. In fact it mainly steals from earlier games. The bettter quality are criticised for not being as big yet they have a better product and better communities.
Another example is how a good game can turn more generic as devlopmet gets on. Age of Conan being a good case in point here. Forum posts littered with "what happened ot the origninal innovative design?". And as I mentioned eaqrlier a slightly decrease in the quality of the community. And Funcom like Blizzard openly covert them using sensationlist marketing.
So we as customers have to accept our role to vote with our feet and our wallets if we wish for the kind of games we really wish to see. If these people and movie and tv producers for that matter can get away with making cheap prodcuts for high turnouts they will. And this usually means cutting costs and time which in turn sacrifices innovation and passion.
Thats that aspect of the discussion but I have a little more to say which I beleive is relevent here. I immagine many of us here have played a fair few games and lots of us are veterans. And veterans have a tendancy to become bored quicly and in short very jaded. Its also worthy of note that we could be overlooking good development. Or just plain feeling like it resmebles something we have done before. In this respect the only thing that can break this up for us is more development in ground breaking ideas. No more repeat quests and kill x of type scenarios we have all seen too many times. Among other things many of us could mention.
And there also is another obsticle against veteran gamers. As I already said producers and even alot of developers would often rather not do this. And why should they when they can get the same stuff done before, rehash it and give it to the kids who impulse buy? Or the consumers suseptible to sensationalist marketing. Age of Conans "Mature" motif imediately springs to mind. We can protest but all in all we have to act or simply be wiser with our money.
