The theoretical scenario was that you have two test dummies (ie. gamers) equally skilled in any game.
Scenario 1: Get them both in WoW, one level 30, other level 60. See who wins.
Scenario 2: Get them both in UO (since you mention it), one with skills around 80, the other maxed. See who wins.
Given equally skilled players the MMO systems do make an impact, otherwise they would be pointless, regardless of whether the game system is level or skilled based. Only FPS (as far as I can think of) can have two players of equal skill but unequally equipped and still have a chance to beat the odds.
Scenario 1 : lvl 60 whins with 2 hit(okay, maybe 3 hit:P) Even when the lvl 60 player is a noob and the lvl 30 player is a 3 years vet, the lvl 60 player kicks his ass. Just with normal attack a lvl 60 kicks a lvl 30 char.
Scenario 2 : When both chars have the same skills just one has lower, and both players have exactly the same playerskill, the maxed player whins after a "long" duell. But when the player whis the "bad" char has more playerskill than the player with maxed char, he could win. Cause no one hase 10 times more HP or deals 30 times more DMG.
so. hae? i think i missunderstand something.
Why should they be equally skilled(player skill)?
When this is the fakt, its normal and good that the charskill decides who whins.(not complete).
The szenario is, that a good player can kill a lesser good player with a crap char.
