its bulls**t anways, i signed up for the beta 2 years ago, fill all the form, dxdiag, a resume of 200 chars, updated my information when i changed configs, ebing somewhat active in their forums and they dont even send any mail when its open
when it says "first come first serve for early access" does that meant there is a limited number of people who can buy the early access?

I was able to get my key and create a funcom account but I couldn't download the client in time before they stopped giving out keys. I can't find the download page so is it impossible for me to download the game?
started the DL @ like 0800 this morn and am 47.8% done with it. has been 13 hours so far lol
but, the counter says like 3 days 22 hours is way wrong im guessin. I think by noon tomorrow i should have the DL complete. Whach this prick be screwed up and have to get another copy. If that happens Im
All of this has proven to me how absolutely fantastic Funcom's sense of marketting is... I know I wouldn't care this much if I didn't have an OB key at this point to try getting one for over 3 hours just for 13 levels when you could just wait two weeks...
FC literally has it's consumers by the balls... really smart company when it comes to getting their game across.

meh I'm ok being over excited about what will probably be a disappointment. Taking a lot of effort to play the game even for a couple levels kills time and I can keep looking forward to release, distracts me for the last few weeks of school.
I have a key from my friend, but he changed his mind and doesn't want to play. I started downloading the client today, but it's slow.. takes probably more than 6 days to finish. ^^ (~30-40 kb/s from Fileplanet)
I would like to test it before the OB is over.
If you can help me get the client faster, I will give you one key (in exchange for access to a fast client, lol) ^_^

While I now get the full Fileplanet membership (Founders Club/IGN Insider) for free through my Comcast Game Invasion level of service, it is well worth the monthly fee. You are paying for a lot more than just access to the AoC beta. Fileplanet members get access to several exclusive betas throughout the year, as you could easily see by looking at my beta key folder on my account page there. Furthermore, you can turn off ads on GameSpy, Fileplanet, Sportplanet, IGN, and just about any affiliated site -- the Vault sites and so on. You get the faster downloads. And, on the IGN side there are exclusive forums, plus access to the strategy guide section.
As someone said earlier, you wasted money if you bought a membership just to beta test a game.

Im DL ing at an average of 150-185 kbps if that helps.
The links off internode are going a lot faster for me, downloading all 6 at the same time combined speed of 450-500kb/sec, whereas on Fileplanet it was 25kb/sec - 100kb/sec, says i'll have it finished within 8 hours, and fileplanet was saying 3-4 days 0.0

Don't feel bad I just got the closed/general beta key and I paid for the FailPlanet beta.
download speeds were slower than the fileplanet download manager for me. I would say that it would be safer and more reliable to just download from fileplanet. no chance of pesky viruses or keyloggers. also if something were to go wrong you would have a stable starting point to troubleshoot from. even if it takes a couple of days you'll still be playing the beta a couple of weeks before its retail release.

I am downloading from this site, is this the open beta? I am getting 500kb/s from this site, whereas at FP I waited 3 hours in line, and then for some stupid reason reset me to the back of the que when I down to spot 5. The bit torrents I get about 100kb/s, but at the site I get around 500kb/s and the files are split into 6 packages. I am downloading to at a time so I am technically downloading around 1mb a sec, much quicker lol. But is this the open beta version?

Anyone able to confirm if the links at gamenode are for the FP open beta or for PvP weekend open beta?

I'm pretty sure it's not PvP one, as I've heard that the PvP one is 7gb, and this one is 13gb which is the same as the Open BETA client.
