Well it's the first day of the OFFICIAL launch, and with the exception of a small delay bringing the servers up the game is running great. I stayed conected all day with no crashes or discos. I only ran into 1 quest bug and a guide answered my /petition and helped fix it. I've been playing since Saturday and dinged 47 about noon. I had a hunch that gankers would be waiting on the new batch of players so I went to Wild Lands of Zelata and stealthed around and played the guardian angel for all the new players zoning in to start there quests. I killed 27 people trying to gank lowbies. Made my day

Lotro was a touch smoother at launch but that is because lotro dosn't have anything (j/k). After some hyped failures it is nice to see something that more or less meets the expectations.
Aoc isn't a revolution but it's a hell of alot of fun. My period of beeing mmo 'dry' is now over.

Your level 47 already? Either your very sad or the game is far too easy to level.
These new MMO's make me sick, EQ1 was a challenge to level, but at the same time it was rewarding. Wheres the reward in being max level in less than a couple of weeks?
Casualy market>hardcore nerds. Casual people don't want to spend an entire weekend to go from 49 to 49.5
It shouldn't matter, if the game is enjoyable and entertaining then i wouldn't mind if it takes a month to level. Instead, games are now dull and uninspiring until you get to max level then you end up playing the end game content to death, or level up dozens of alts. Yawn
And I am pissed off with people that don't know Wow anymore since patch 2.3.
WoW/TBC has changed so much it is now in a whole other ball game than the other MMO's.
TBC launched so much more than 'just another 10 levels".
Wow is no longer a lineair traditional MMORPG that goes from dungeon to dungeon like it used to be like in Vanilla Wow. In that respect yes Wow was a copy of what existed.
But times change and read why Eurogamer gave 10/10 in a recent re-review of present day Wow.
I DO agree that LOTRO had the smoothest launch, but it launched 4 months after TBC and therefore only was a copy cat of the old Wow (those without BG's, competitve Arena's, seamless flying worlds you could land everywhere, 25 dailies , heroic dungeons and professions that were profitable,...).
LOTRO also PROVED you could have better graphics and STIIL have seamless open worlds.
Something on which Conan completely fails (big!). Both in loading screens AND "death by loading zones ganks"
Patch 2.3 did what exactly?
Oh yes, made levelling from 20 to 60 even easier than it already was, thus placating the people levelling tank and healer alts or muppets who wanted the game even easier.
Zulaman - ground breaking that place. Guild banks as well - serious stuff that, Alterac valley got turned upside down on it's head again and a hat full of random changes and addons to various things. It changed very little , just like 2.4.
I really don't know where you get this stuff from - most entertaining to read
The game just launched today.. You can't really say it had a smooth launch until a month or so after. For all we know the servers could go kaput.
If you r going to play AoC, they have a server just for you...its called DOOMSAYER
Aw ofcourse I'm going to play AoC.. I'm just speaking the truth though I remember the first day of SWG was smooth sailing, and then a week later the servers went nuclear.

yeah, cause we can't say something happened that clearly already happened, now can we?
We all know that launch lasts several weeks, right?
An MMO's "launch" is typically regarded as the entire first month or so, but clearly you don't have much experience playing MMOs to actually know that..

I don't know if you've noticed, but I have 5 years on this site, and over 1k posts. I've played almost every game listed here, and beta tested quite a few. I've also been at the "launch" of several of them. Seen the good, and the bad.
Today is launch....the first month is...the first month.
from reading the new posts, this launch is sinking rather rapidly ....
not sure wehat you're talking about there, other than the trolls are starting to poke their heads out.
Don't forget, the majority of people who have the game are playing it, not here complaining.
I would be playing myself, but still waiting on my damn box to get here. It had better be here tomorrow, or I'll be picking up a copy locally and returning my pre-order when it gets here.
The reason it's going to have a smooth launch is because they opened the servers early. If you didn't notice, the servers have been down constantly for like two days. Plus, everything in AOC is instanced. Guild Wars, and LOTRO both had smooth launches.

We'll have to see, tomorrow will be a huge day in MMORPG history.
you techincally cannot say its the smoothest launch in 10 years because the launch hasn't happened yet. We'll know tomorrow.
People who have to create conspiracy and hate threads to further a cause lacks in intellectual comprehension of diversity.
Yeah, Ive heard and read alot of good things about the game. I am headed to get my copy first thing in the morning!

MMO's in general are time consuming.
This game sounds pretty interesting, I think I'll pick it up this weekend.

I am happy to see that the launch went so smooth and that the client seems to be running well on so many different setups.
This looks promising for the EU launch and the first few days.
