So, if let's say there are 35,000 players (I don't know the numbers) and 1000 players found this poll then 70% of these players aren't happy with it.
Doesn't take into account the players who found the poll and thought it was useless and didn't want to answer, or the players who are just having fun in game and don't really care about such things, etc.
So in the end it's a bit misleading.

Doesn't take into account the players who found the poll and thought it was useless and didn't want to answer, or the players who are just having fun in game and don't really care about such things, etc.

The fact that it is voluntary makes it not representitive of the population from which it was sampled. You cannot have a voluntary sample that is representative, so I am not sure what your disagreement is.
