I won't say how I voted, but I will say that I voted based on what's best for the mmorpg genre. If more people make their voices heard about how this game is grossly unfinished, buggy, or un-fun then more developers will see that. Honestly, take a step back and look at this game as a whole, from level 1-80. Ask yourself is this something you want to see again with another mmorpg? If you answer yes then keep subscribing and keep playing, and let them know. If you answer no then keep posting and let the developers know and unsubcribe. Let people know how you feel. Don't lie it will only hurt this genre, and more developers will continue this path of releasing games in the future.

Excellent post!!! wish there were more like you around this website. We need to keep this genre moving in the right direction, i.e. a direction that each of us personally want. That may conflict with others but all we can do is try to keep things moving in what we consider to be the right direction.

it's wrong.
Do people expect an MMO to release without flaws? I need a serious answer here.

I don't see where he said NO FLAWS, but rather, he said, "unimplemented features ON THE BOX".

Completely disagree. I'd MUCH rather a buggy but more original games like AoC than wow clones with no bugs such as LotRO.
subscribing to AoC tells developers you are bored of generic mmos and helps the genre move out of stagnation its currently in.

Hardly. All mmos are generic, Hint -> Mass Multi Player (RPG), yeah okie - Some people seems to enjoy RPG. Thats why mmos target a large players. But what new does Age of Conan offer there is brand new?
Yeah because McDonalds is the best food in the world because it's the most popular? idiot.

Why the hell not?
Do you expect to rent a recently-built office building to have working bathrooms, electricity, working doors? a few broken door handles is one thing, but entire sub-systems not present or not working?
Moreover, do you expect to pay the rent on said office building while the builders fix it? Esepcially when the builders said on the lease that all features were working.
The software industry should be held to the same levels of basic accountability & merchantable quality that every other industry has.

Agreed. The more people forgive shoddy games and use the "It will be patched" mentality, the more the companies willing the companies are to release broken games. The apologists are doing nothing more than bending over and letting the companies have their way with them. Hell, it has gotten so bad that even console games are being released in poor states with a promise of a patch to fix them.
A few bugs here and there are expected, like maybe trees showing the wrong texture in a certain area or maybe like my poor ranger going bald sometimes when she changes zones. But to be missing complete aspects of the game when its listed on the box or touted by the devs as a major selling point is not acceptable and should not be accepted no matter what excuse they come up with.

at least the online gaming industry wont give you aids, lead or glass lol
I dunno, a game box could give you a paper cut and it could get infected....

I'm playing, but a bit disappointed they released with as many missing features as they did. Sure, no game releases completely done, but I wish they had completed some things like DX10, sieging and spellweaving before releasing.

Aye, at least make sure that what you sell on the box is in the game.
Then again when I first bought DAoC it had everything it promised on the box, just didnt have a CD in it....
(I blame walmart for that - they always seem to have stuff that someone managed to steal from and no one notices...)

I'm only playing the free month because to me the game like I said came 5 years too late and feels like more of the same and somehow just isn't as fun as WOW and all the loading times piss me off.
---------------------------------------- Talking about SWG much?
I have to say no - to this online action-rpg called Age of Lolan. This game will live only few months and it will die instantly when Warhammer Online and Wrath of The Lich King comes out.
I cancelled my subscription after I reached lvl 51 and I won't come back to this game after my free month ends.
So after 50 lvl's I have absolutely enough of this game, absolutely no motivation to log in again, this is the first time i felt that way and I've played few mmos already.
I belive this is the reason why I feel that way:
- Poor or no economy
- Constantly hyped (by funcom) Cieges - not working
- Spellweaving not working
- Lack of content past 50 lvl
- Poor performance even on very good machines
- Poor race and class design (most melee classes are just different variations of the same mechanic)
- Poor PVP (no penalty for killing/dying, can't lvl through pvp, no pvp rewards and generally lack of any pvp ruleset)
- Instances, instances, instances (heck, there are even instances inside of an instance!)
- Poor animations (seems that everyone like iceskating in Hyboria)
- No DX10 support
- One of the worst UI and chat ever created
- 70% of character skills/talents not working
This is really looking bad, considering that AOC was in developement for 5 long years (not to mention that it was pushed back 3-4 times).
hint: polls conducted on a site that doesn't require a subscription to vote on the poll are likely to be more accurate than polls that do require a paid subscription - since by definition, if you're subscribing, you're probably happy with the game.
It is by far the most shallow, broken (not client, but skills, feats, itemization etc..) unfinished pile of crap excuse for a MMORPG I have ever played.
(I voted Wow, what a failure. I'm pissed and I'm out!!)

Very disappointed and didn't buy the game but played in the closed beta up until last week.

Having a real nice time in Conan and it has a great community too.
Just some more work on patching and stuff and it will be even more fun !

Not surprised by the result so far, after 610 votes. If you sums up the result you get this :
24% thinks it's GREAT (First 2 poll options)
24% thinks it's AVERAGE (3rd and 4th option)
32% thinks it's BAD. (5th and 6th option)
The rest did'nt tried the game.
