3 days into SWG after returning to the game.

1st of all I am on the bloodfin server and found it to be extremly populated, I see people running around playing the game everywhere I go,I am not sure about other servers, but Bloodfin seem to be doing real well to my surprise. The game still looks great even after 5 years. From what I can tell every aspect of the game is a 100 times better than what it was when the NGE first launched and I am actually enjoying myself after starting a new charactor from scratch. The NGE interface still sucks and is clunky and just plain aweful. I am with time starting to get used to it ,but still having fun playing the game. The community has been excellant so far and seem to be willing to help you if you need it. Thats all for now,I will post some more about the game as I play it further, But as a Pre-CU vet the game in its current state is not bad at all and its a welcome change to playing wow. If you have been thinking about trying the game out again now is a good time. I went into this game with a positive attitude and by doing so I have seen some good improvements to many things. I am currently playing SWG and EQ2 and I would like to make a seperate post about EQ2 at a later date, but from what I have seen so far of it I really wonder why EQ2 is not the WoW of mmos right now its absolutly Phenomenal right now. I think if SWG had the interface EQ2 has it would be alot better. Thats all for now:P

Ummm, funny, I found Bloodfin to be quite dead, not 100%, but at least 90%...  Most I saw online at one time was 75 or so people.

SWG is as bad as ever, nothing has really changed.

That would be a massive group of people. I never saw more than three people in any one place.

Do you guys just wake up one morning and be like:

"Oh gee, how should I waste my life? Oh, I know, i'll go spam the SWG boards to make my e-peen look bigger."

Honestly, do you guys have anything better to do?

I play on Eclipse. Yes its quiet. Yes it can be hard to find people if all you do is look. However I found if i start talking to people thats right talking I'll find out where the action is. I've also found quite alot of people on the server. Seems people ar emore scattered now.

Tbh I'm at that point now where I dont care too much about numbers aslong as I'm having fun. I played on one of EU's biggest WoW servers. Hundreds of people running about...did I speak to all of them? Nope. Did they effect my gameplay apart from their player model rendering on my screen...nope.

When I look back,  Pre-CU was busier. But I only really hung out with a handful of people.

    Quality over Quantity.

I'd rather play with 20 cool people and do things then be surrounded by hundreds who I have no reason to speak to.

Be sure to make use of the new search tool, I've been finding it rather useful for organizing group activites during my NZ prime time when most of my server is sleeping :)

If you're not aware of it, open up the Community window and go to the Search tool.  Expand the categories on the left side of the window and tick the interests that that are appealing to you.  After you've done that, click the Search button towards the top on the right side of the window.  It'll give you a list of people that aren't /anon and match the interests you searched for :)

He was posting his own opinion about what he saw.  Just like the OP did.  You are reading too much into it, it looks like.  Or are opinions you find favorably the only ones that count?

I suppose they are blind or something Obraik because I saw tons of people playing the game. I started a brand new toon early in the morning and I saw people in the tutorial,on the planet doing the quests, all over ther star ports in multiple cities. They were pvping,Roleplaying,Hanging out in some of the Cantina's etc. The game is not dead and it does not matter to me what people think about SWG now its not a bad game anymore. I still prefer EQ2 over it right now,but I will play both games and it sure as hell beats wow for me.

Then why don't you post some screenshots of these "tons" of people you've seen playing then?  Because we have posted tons that show empty servers, we've made videos, and challenged you fanbois outright to prove us wrong.

The servers are dead, everyone knows it.  Obraik is PAID to tell you they aren't...  Reliable source there.  If you have seen tons of people then a screenshot or 2 proving this shouldn't be hard to muster up, right?

Until then it's nothing more than the ongoing bombardment of viral lies.

Would you please refrain from spreading lies please? He is not paid he is a player like I am, SOE does not have an office in New Zealand where he is from. I guess it's hard to think that someone who enjoys the game might comment positive things about a game he enjoys playing with friends.

Gutboy, it's 2008.  SOE doesn't need an office in New Zealand to employ Obraik.  How do you know he isn't a paid employee?  How does anyone know that?  He sure acts like one.  He blindly ignores any fault in SWG, and there's a lot of fault.

You don't know anymore about Obraik than anyone else.  SOE could very easily offer him free game time to viral market on their behalf.  Read his posts, they are worded like PR statements and only post this game and SOE in a positive manner.

I really could care less who he works for, all I ask from the OP is to offer up some proof of the "tons" of players on Bloodfin...  He wants all of us to go out and subscribe and spend money on this game, so offer up some evidence, if not proof, of his accuracy.

Because I was on Bloodfin last month and it was nearly impossible to find ANYONE outside of the 60 or so in Mos Eisley.  So I know for a fact he is lying.

I doubt he is paid, but the dude is the biggest fanboi since Wepps. SOE can do no wrong in his book. It's almost as sad as that one guy in Austin who still swears Brad is going to turn Vanguard around. You just watch.

and wepps became cool cuz he saw that all $OE did was lie to us and now he supports a rollback to the pre-cu system of swg.

I doubt Obraik is a paid, viral marketer but SONY has been suspected of doing just that -- paying people to claim to be players of SONY products on the web. No tinfoil hat needed.

Obraik however is a real player; I've met his armorsmith Kikas in game. I disagree with most of his opinions, but I believe they are his.

  • FishermageFishermage Member Posts: 7,562

And as to what the OP says and to the state of Bugfin; it IS the busiest server I play on (sadly my main server Intrepid is dead), I belong to a pretty active 250 or so man guild and there's always people to do things with.

That's not to say there are NEARLY as many players as we used to have; just that it's oneof the better servers left in the wasteland.

Honestly, doesn't make me feel a bit better about wepps as a player or a human being. The guy was a complete bleeding heart NGE nut-job from it's inception. While the vast majority of the player-base was in complete shock, and I mean SHOCK over what had just gone live, he had the gall to push a 5K post count on how great it all was. I mean, lets get this straight - nothing worked...absolutely nothing...and here this guy was saying how we should all just stfu and quit if we didn't like the great new system. This was in NOVEMBER. We couldn't quit, we had already paid our subs. Heaven forbid you be a annual subscriber.

Wepps can burn in MMO hell.

Obraik is just wepps in training, he'll never be that bad (even though, he's really full of it .

Yes we donate our time and effort for a good cause while the fanbois are just apologists for a seedy corporation. Smed probably laughs at them every night before he sacrifices babies and howls at the moon.
