1) WoW, when it was new and fresh (I loved the first month)
2) Planetside (back in its day, it had great teamwork and really epic battles with game mechanics which favoured skill and not who had the highest level ... brilliant)
3) D&DO (fun group questing, character customization up the whazoo, great community ... what more could you want?)
1) WoW, was definitely the most fun I had until the very end. End game bored me.
2) Eve, no other MMO can compare to Eve.
3) EQ, the classic
4) LotRO, family friendly, story driven and just overall fun to play.
5) WAR, yes I know it's still in beta

I can't believe this is the thread that brings me back here.
It's nice to see I'm not the only one that thought of Horizons. Best community I've ever seen in any game. I listed WoW for both the good and the bad reasons. I only ever played the beta and I never wanted to go back, but this was the game that gave the MMO genre the shot in the arm (for better or worse) that it needed. I just hope that someday it'll finally fall to the wayside and I can come back from beta test hell and niche games. Meh.

I hate gold farmers. Do not follow the link, it leads to your typical gold farming site.

Nothing since then has entertained me for more than a month so I'm hoping WAR will be as good.
