Why Wow's Time will decline and other MMO's will Shine

Warcraft the most successfull MMO to date.
I am writing this post to highlight issues that will lead to other MMO's push for dominance in this market
The Blizzard boys have been very adaptive in their approach to try to keep their subscrbers in face of challenging competition from Lotro, Eve, and the upcoming WAR, to name a few.
In each release of new content (however limited) they have changed the speed in the time it takes to level a toon from 1-70. The experience gained is increased from completing quests in lower levels. They have tried to adapt a pvp environment in Warcraft too, with some success. PVP has many limitations, but they are trying to improve it somewhat. With WOTLK new talents are opened up to certain disadvantaged classes to address balancing issues from a pvp perspective.
Before TBC came out, there were 40 man raids in Azeroth like Naxrammas, which was challening to organise and fun to do. Since TBC, the raid composition has been lowered to 25 man raids to reach Black Temple and Sunwell. With WOTLK, the raid compositoin will be lowered to 10 mans as well as maintaing the usual 25 man raids, to allow more players to reach end game content and experience it.
10 man raids can be pugged, not requiring a full guild run to do. This may kind of defeat the purpose of requiring a guild membership to reach these instances. These changes in raid composition will continue to simplify the game and lead to its eventual decline. All MMO's are about building up a character with dedication and hard work to be the most well geared it can be. Simplyfing the game to adapt will make the game dull. In Wotlk they are implementing more titals as they see this as what players like. Many of these titals will be achieved with ease. There is no challenge to it.
Wow's subsriber base will only have growth options now in Asia and Latin America it seems, as many in the western countries are tired and are looking for other MMO's with better content and that provide a new focus and challenge. PVP'ers in WOW are certainly tired of its lack of any new content besides 1 extra BG in WOLTK.
Wow is facing the same problems an aging man has, trying to make himself look young , and fresh to impress the girls another year or 2. This can only go on for so long.
With War coming, the ability to take over enemy capital cities is challenging and appealing. The fact that once an enemy captial falls, the inhabitants are placed in a refugee camp outside to liase with their factions NPC's whilst they try to ratake their capital again. This is truly amazing, refugee camps.!!!
Perhaps the most unique thing War has to offer as truly innovative is its Tome of knowledge which will have absolutly everything in it. It will even have a record (as i understand it) of the actual names of enemy players who you have killed or that have killed you, and how many times they have done this.
There is much more that can be added on this topic, but let me say that Blizzard have really opened up the MMO market with Warcraft and attracted so many players that otherwsie may have not played MMO's. Now sitting on all that revenue, they know that Warcraft can only grow so much, and they are planning for the future with a new and fresh MMO. What that will be,, we will need to wait.
As to Wars success,, there is no doubt about it. It will be successfull. There is a lot of hype about it, but that is understanable when you consider how many people are eagerly looking and hoping for a fresh new MMO that caters to their needs, and not the same old dull simplified old one with limited additions added from time to time.

It is the best game i ve played live or beta period. And i ve tried literally them all.
WoW is reaching the top of the mountain. Sooner or later they will go down...and who knows what waits on the other side.

if the few people who went to the darkfall studio arnt payed to say what they did then darkfall will create new standards but everyother game will fail to reach them kind of how WoW did to everything else......if darkfall doesnt then there will never be another king of MMO's again....until blizzard releases an MMO that defines the genre again....hopefully in a good way

As much as i hate to admit it you are probably right there although i would not say Darkfall to be the ONE MY heart is with Aion and i think it personally can deliver a nice blow to the MMO market. It may not be the next big thing but it will be big. i guess what we need is something old school revamped, we need the roots to this genre relived even if it means just the same old game as before but prettied up to meet todays graphicl standards, i mean let's face it we can sit here all we want and say graphics dont matter so long as the gameplay is good.. well that is true to an extent but graphics in a game these days plays a major role,
WoW did not have the best graphics but they were pleasing to look at as cartoonish as they are it was a colourful vibrant world that had easy gameplay that any 1 could adapt to and unfortunately Darkfall does not have this so therefore will not break WoW's dominant cycle in this market.Darkfall as good as it does sound has some unique and interesting features but will only hold true to a certain style of gaming which a lot of us dont really care for, dont get me wrong i will play Darkfall When it releases but not with hopes of it being crowned the next best thing.

Thats fine and im just saying be prepare for another record breaking sales of wow's next expansion. YOU heard from me first. As far as warhamer, its not going to dent wrath of the lich king's sale. warhammer is just a pvp game, its a totally different game then wow. enough said. Please i grow tired of people constantly saying wow will die or wow will decline because of this and that. Seriously? I suggest youi put some money in blizzard stock before the wrath of expansion comes out.
Lol i will NOT be buying wotlk , simply because i know whats wwaiting for me if i do so . Lvl 70-80 farm some instance for blue start raiding , get bored after 2 week , try pvp get bored again after 2 week , quit and cry about the money i waste on wotlk.
Thats what happend with TBC and back then i was VERYYYY excited about TBC now im not even looking at wotlk new and stuff cause i dont give shit its going to be the same old boring thing .

It's making raid content more accessable beacuse only 1% of the player population got to play fun instances like Naxx...if anything, this will make people play the game even longer.

Alright... There's no doubt that WotLK is going to sell well... There's also no doubt that WAR is going to sell well. However, WotLK already has its giant fanbase with those who are going to stick with WoW despite anything else that releases. It's not my cup of tea anymore, but it's a big enough cup for everyone to jump into. Hell, I was one of the few people in my guild in WoW that seemed to want to switch to WAR... But I wasn't the only one.
I kinda want to compare WoW to the Wii... By that, I mean they both sell to all sorts of people. They sell to children, to adults, to families, to the casual gamers, and to the bigger gamers. But now that the Wii has such a giant fanbase to sit upon, it's releasing more things to appeal to a broader audience and less for the more serious gamer. WoW is kinda the same way... What I mean is that it's simplifying down stuff such as the raids and the bg's to appeal to a broad audience. Meanwhile, the people who liked the massive raids and the more epic battles (original Alterac Valley, anyone?) are watching the stuff they enjoyed most become muddied or disappear completely. And when that happens, they look elsewhere.
Maybe that comparison wasn't the best... It made sense to me, but I'm not exactly what you'd call fully rested. Anyways, the point I'm trying to make hear is that WoW appeals to a much broader audience who want a more casual/simple/grindtastic MMO (granted, all MMO's have grinds up the bum) while WAR is able to appeal to those who want something different and hopefully more in-depth.
That makes sense, right?

Another stupid post, If you want play WAR or any other MMO over WOW play them. Why worry about a game you don't want to play. Be a fan of WAR but why bash other games or talk about other games on the WAR forums. I plan on playing WAR and could care less about how WOW is doing or any other MMO for that fact. Shouldn't matter when WOW dies to anyone who don't like WOW or anyopne who finds another MMO in the future play what is fun to you and worry about that game.
I see WoW as beginning MMO school. After you learn enough there are two decisions: to get out of the school or continue in higher school...
Where themepark games try to hide that they are copying WOW, games like Mortal Online and Darkfall make no attempt to hide their inspiration

Well, all I can say is that the WotLK beta is excellent. Some of the PvP features in WotLK exceeded my expectations far and wide both in terms of creativety and immersion into the game world.
However, I have no experience with WAR beta so its hard to compare the two.
Wow Is like the fastest kid in a P.e class Where its 1 lap ahead of everyone and other mmos like war and aoc (and any game coming out) are a lap behind but think they are winning the race beacuse wow is behind them.

Hah, wow will top the MMO charts in terms of longetivity as well, so I guess that means the WoW kid isn't on steroids and the kids he is lapping have a genetic history of fatal diseases.

To the guy who said that warhammer has more pre-orders until a few weeks ago ...that is ONLY because the CE edition promised open Beta play - it is way fallen back since then btw (and the normal edition of Warhammer is at position ....180 in PC sales on the American Amazon.com)

WAR is up to WotLK.
You won't even recoginze the PVE and PVP of old Wow.
Air Land Sea battles, manned combat Tanks. Full Siege open world PvP (even on full PVE servers). Destructable keeps and Sieg warfare.
The FULL arsenal of Siege equipment of Warcraft 3, airplanes (have a look at the IronForge launchpads ...)
Underwaters worlds, Full 3D world you fly over without LOADING screens ...
... add to this the pre sellings and a user base of 4.5 million ACTIVE paid accounts
