I have played DIABLO2X STARCRAFT WARCRAFT SHADOWBANE DAOC SWG WWIIONLINE RUNESCAPE FF CITY OF HEROES. I would have to say SWG has the worst customer service out of all these games I have played. Half the csr respones are automated or say "Sorry we cannot help you with your problem blah blah blah.
Galaxies (notice the lack of STAR WARS) CS blows... freaking... chunks.
The only reason you don't see Galaxies servers with 1000+ tickets outstanding is because their policy is to simply open your ticket and copy and paste a "tough noogies" message into it.
The absolute worst support I have ever seen has to be hands down UO. The staff may answer you but unless its a wedding request, you can FORGET about getting help. Satan himself could be jacking accounts and using server lines to dupe silver katana's of vanquising and they would just say "We are sorry, there is nothing we can do".
After that I would say Everquest POST Luclin, when Verrant was still seperate from SOE everquest had atleast 1 gm and 3 guides in at ALL times. Anymore and its a lost cause, they will nail you with template email after template email and string it for weeks til finally you just gave up or chalked up the loss.

I've played a whole slew of games, but never Lineage 2 or SWG :P However, the worst support for me was Horizons. I couldn't even make an account correctly due to a bug on their end, and my attempts to correct it only resulted in template email after template email. When I finally got a real person looking at my problems, all he did was write nasty emails back to me claiming it was all my problem and I should stop bugging him. Yeah...I would have given up right there, but I couldn't return the game because I'd already opened it. Eventually, they fixed the problem on their side, because so many people had it. I never received an apology for the mouthing off, either.
Well I must say i tried many games so far and all in all they all suck ...
The best version i seen so far was counselors on uo back in the day ..... it was a player to can be a counselor and all they got was a free account.... but alot of people did it to help and escalated the real hardcore problems to a gm..
but some lame ass people filed a lawsuit to have them get paid for it saying they were working on it and deserved min wage... so there went the counselor program and there went all the new paid conselors to india .... needless to say there was no help whatsoever... thats when the game went to hell....
but from what i played it takes forever to get any help but the absolute worse i must say is swg been playing for a year now and never once seen a csr .... the game uscks too dont bother getting it unless ya like to have mindless repetitive fun... I prefer watching my toaster get hot then shutting it off then getting it hot again
SWG, swg is the only game ever to kill players who protested somthing the devs did.
also SWG is the only game ive played that actually had protests agaisned to CSR's
as well the CSR's are like little children, they abuse there power so much, and if you have an actually problem, often you will have 3 CSRs ditch you before one actually stays and helps you, and ever then, its like talking to an answering machine.
after 6 or so years, I had to change it a little...

Dude, that had nothing to do with the SWG game. Any player can say "my friend sent me 1 billion credits and all I got was 1 thousand. Can you game moderater give me the rest?". Common Sense dictates if anyone is going to give someone else a HUGE substancial amount of ingame money - that you both have your characters MEET each other face to face.
Last, is he your Real Life friend? Or just a friend over the internet? Because the ONLY way you, him, and the SWG game moderators can be 100% sure no one is making it up is if you know him in real life. There is NO f---- way the game moderators can tell if you are making it up, or your friend is making it up, or both of you are making it up. Imagine if EVERY player in the game starts saying "So-and-so sent me X amount of money but I never got it. Can you give it to me?" basically you are asking the GM to credit dupe for you and your friend. LOOK AT IT FROM THE GM's VIEW. Before you go posting a rant that common sense shoots holes through.

If anyone in ANY MMORPG has ANY valuable items that are not easily replaced (like a House, a fortune in gold/credits/money, high level loot/armor/weapons/cloths, guild halls, high level machines, etc...etc....) take SCREENSHOTS of them! Then store them on CD, your harddrive, your computer, or anyone of the free online image/file/record storage/harddrive places (like Yahoo Briefcase at yahoo.com, geocities at yahoo.com (you have to login every 2 months though), Imagedump.com, webshots.com). If you do not mind paying a small fee, also use zdrive.com
If you have your own paid for website online, you can even store your screenshots there.
2. This way YOU will have 100% PROOF what you have BEFORE you lose it from in game bugs, exploits, hacks, server-resets, etc...
JUST LIKE IN REAL LIFE! Insurance companies require people to TAKE PICTURES as 100% PROOF of what they have - jewelery, expesive cars (they TOLD me I had to take 8 pictures of my car at different angles, and which angles, the first time I got insurance for it!), expesive home stero systems, etc... etc...
3. The reason I mention this EASY IDEA, and EASY THING TO DO is that if you first look at things from the game company point of view, HOW THE HECK CAN THEY TELL WHAT YOU HAVE? How can they tell if you are telling the truth? Part of the truth? Or are trying to get over on them? If you have screenshots of items, chat logs, other player characters as witnesses, then you have MORE WEIGHT on YOUR SIDE.
On the first page of this here thread was a post by someone lamenting about how a Black American player in EQ was being harrassed. He, the guy, and their guild, and friends all KEPT RECORDS, and NOTES. Screenshots of the offender, of the chat logs, etc... This gave more weight to their side. THAT is WHAT ALL OF YOU NEED TO DO! Make records! Make screenshots for starters!
I've played Everquest, DAoC, Ryzom, Legend of Mir, Pristontale, Lineage 2, and FFXI.
Hands down the WORST customer service was Lineage 2 - I played thru closed & open beta, and for about 3 months into retail. They did nothing about bots, cheaters, rampant sales of adena online, or bugs. The worst part was the GM's were horrible..some couldn't speak english, and all I had contact with gave a pre-written response to your situation..you could just tell they were typing from a script. They were short, rude, and refused to do ANYTHING about the cheaters and botters which were just about everywhere. Multiple players would report the same cheaters/botters for weeks and they would still be online doing their thing. Many times the GM's on the forums would promise you one thing and later went back on it....the worst CS ever

It's not their fault, your just an idiot. I remember them having a huge thing before you log in saying trials have a cap of 50k.

There were multiple /petitions and /reports put in. In EQ if you aren't online when the GM comes to your server he deletes the petition. He had his character logged in for 20 hours the first day. 16 the next day and the day after, all in hopes of catching a GM. Then 12 hours a day after that. he never once heard from a GM. He e-mailed the server GM who's response he got 38 days after this all occoured was to tell him to /report and then /petition and that a GM ingame would take care of it. Basically after almost 2 weeks straight of racial slurs without any action by the staff of EQ he had enough and cancelled his subscrition. From corrospondence on our message boards he relayed to us that the legal department of SoE has asked that he sign documentation stating that SoE was in no way shape or form responsible for what occoured etc. By this I'm guessing he is pursuing legal action. Imagine if those of us whop played MMORPGS weren't such rabid fans? Imagine if we could take companies to task for horrible CS. Imagine if your bank treated you the way that most game companies do? I'd bet that bank would go belly up within a month. Only the rabid fanatisism of the MMORPG player has kept games like EQ that have shown repeatedly to have such shoddy CS; alive. I persoanlly will never play another SoE game. Also CS has become for me a VERY important part of any future game I play online.
Did this guy pursue SoE by calling them or sending emails with these screenshots? If all he ever did was /petition or /report he didn't use all his resources to get this taken care of.
Personally I've never had problems with SoE CS .. But then again, I've never had anything serious happen..
From experience of my friends on SWG I would have to say that their support is the worst .. It would take a month for them to get back with you to tell you that they won't do anything about what was lost, etc.

dude you need to chill with the soe fanboism because its really annoying....damn 1 small paragraph about my expereince with soe and you post a fucking book.....and the point of my posts was about the way the gm's handeled the situation....
In all of the MMORPGs i have played, screenshots aren't accepted by Customer Service. Why? Well the screenshots can be edited and thats why most don't accept screenshots.
Usually they keep logs of everything any ways and they know what really happened.
Most of the older games kept good logs of stuff that happened in game....Yet most of the newer games comeing out are NOT keeping those logs....Why?
Money.
It's all very well and good to keep those logs so that players can 'prove' X and Y happend...But you have to train and pay someone capable of looking through those logs.
Similar to the /report function in EQ...It was added back in a time when customer service reps were free. Since the UO / AOL lawsuits CS isn't free anymore....People have to be paid and paid well, especially if you expect to hire people who are capable of analyzeing those logs(I.E. not the 2.50/hour they pay their current CSRs in India).
So yes...They keep logs. So what? They still don't want to pay someone to look into your complaint...Nevermind weather there's proof it's valid or not. Which is why your complaints are ignored or replied to by CS reps who can't speak english and work from China.
I found Shadowbane to have the worst customer service. Their servers were hacked and people posted some rather hilarious videos of what they did while in control of the server. As it is a pure pvp game, cheating sort of ruins it for the fair players, so you pretty much had to complain about it; but when you did, rather than investigate and maybe try to fix the problems, they sent out a form letter [wonder why they had one of those pre-written?] about how there was no cheating, we were imagining things. Thats the point you just cant play anymore, when you are owned by cheaters, people who fully admit cheating and laugh in your face, and the company just denies it.
Not to mention, the GMs also played games with the guilds with favoritism and bald faced cheating. And it wasn't just GMs helping thier friends out, no it was clearly a policy by the company to promote tension between guilds. If one guild truly did conquer a server there wouldnt be much fun in playing, so they hedged here and there. Not so bad except supposedly anybody was able to start a guild, but the shenanigans played by the GMs and the cheaters combined made the game a complete joke.
And finally of course, the game was full of bugs. It was death by a million papercuts and a couple of large axes. Its too bad too, since the gameplay and GvG were well designed.
It got so bad that penny arcade actually did a comic about it.

I was unable to type any message at all, however I was able to do anything in the game, except chatting, I was feeling hopeless at that point, having wait like 30 minutes and then unable to chat...
Then the GM send me a tell. I am pretty sure in almost every game a GM with no answer would have assume I was afk, uninterested or something and bum off
The GM pop in front of me! I start using the many emotes the game offer! The GM figured my problem(from reading my petition alone, which is a feat by GM standards) AND once it was resolve ask me to log and come back and see if I can chat. I was just back in, trying to type the GM name and I receive his tell, despite the fact I took a few moments to reload the game!
I dont say it is perfect! I wish we dont need to use CS. But in CoH, they impress me well!
But I am LOOOOVING the game more then ever, maybe it biaised my judgment!

You make statements in complete denial of the truth so I normally just ignore you. However it warmed my heart to see others here agree with me.
Want proof SOE sucks ? I've given you thousands of pieces of evidence but here's more... check out swg forums under In Live section... they have a post going that tells players if they gather for protests they will be banned LOL. What other game has ever had to post a threat to its player base telling them to stop protesting stuff ???? What other game for that matter do you see literally THOUSANDS of players on several different servers gathering to shout protests because they have no other choice (since their postings get deleted). Of course Explorer would have you believe SOE never deletes postings.
There are regular threads over at swg (before they get removed) that reach 100+ pages after each publish because things are so bad over there. But I guess you're right Explorer and thousands of players are wrong. Hell, just a week ago (before they removed it) there was a 177+ page posting complaining about publish 10 jedi revamp and the bugs that resulted from it. Of course Explorer would demand a link to said posting (even though it was common knowledge however already deleted by SOE). Its got so bad for players after pub 10 that they decided to gather at starports and protest since SOE continued to ignore their customer service tickets and deleted their posts. Now how good can SOE customer service be when players who've dedicated a year to a game have to actually stage a protest because there's no ther way to get some action from SOE. Of course, typical of SOE... they gave the players an answer to their demands for help... they told them to disperse or get banned.
I guess its pointless though with Explorer. I occasionally post links about the ridiculous things SOE is doing over there and immediately Explorer is there posting stuff againts it. I recently postyed on swg forum section about how SOE overhyped the game back before launch. Of course Explorer wanted screenies (like I keep screenies from 14 months ago and links) Also you usually misread stuff like asking where these alleged screenshots were for stormtroopers questioning cantina owners. I never said that happened, I said that in an ADVERTISEMENT SOE showed stormtroopers questioning shop owners which gave the impression (and wrong one) that npcs would be actively engaging and hunting us. (you need to read my other post closer). So even when you TRY and disagree and counterpoint my points you totally miss the point. SOE overhyped the game, misled its player base, flat out lied in most cases, you still dont see it = fanboy. We could have GOD, the president, and Albert Einstein say SOE sucks and you'd still argue against it.
Fact is SOE has awful CS and always has. Nobody else here would say SOE has good cs besides you explorer. And saying to keep screenshots so you can get items reinmbursed just shows your ignorance. SOE's policy has always been to NOT replace missing or lost items. SOE has told players it will never replace missing items no matter what repeatedly. Of course I dont have a link wth me so it must not be true right Explorer.

Hands down the WORST customer service was Lineage 2 - I played thru closed & open beta, and for about 3 months into retail. They did nothing about bots, cheaters, rampant sales of adena online, or bugs. The worst part was the GM's were horrible..some couldn't speak english, and all I had contact with gave a pre-written response to your situation..you could just tell they were typing from a script. They were short, rude, and refused to do ANYTHING about the cheaters and botters which were just about everywhere. Multiple players would report the same cheaters/botters for weeks and they would still be online doing their thing. Many times the GM's on the forums would promise you one thing and later went back on it....the worst CS ever
It's not their fault, your just an idiot. I remember them having a huge thing before you log in saying trials have a cap of 50k.

Did this guy pursue SoE by calling them or sending emails with these screenshots? If all he ever did was /petition or /report he didn't use all his resources to get this taken care of.
Personally I've never had problems with SoE CS .. But then again, I've never had anything serious happen..
From experience of my friends on SWG I would have to say that their support is the worst .. It would take a month for them to get back with you to tell you that they won't do anything about what was lost, etc.

In all of the MMORPGs i have played, screenshots aren't accepted by Customer Service. Why? Well the screenshots can be edited and thats why most don't accept screenshots.
Usually they keep logs of everything any ways and they know what really happened.

Most of the older games kept good logs of stuff that happened in game....Yet most of the newer games comeing out are NOT keeping those logs....Why?
Money.
It's all very well and good to keep those logs so that players can 'prove' X and Y happend...But you have to train and pay someone capable of looking through those logs.
Similar to the /report function in EQ...It was added back in a time when customer service reps were free. Since the UO / AOL lawsuits CS isn't free anymore....People have to be paid and paid well, especially if you expect to hire people who are capable of analyzeing those logs(I.E. not the 2.50/hour they pay their current CSRs in India).
So yes...They keep logs. So what? They still don't want to pay someone to look into your complaint...Nevermind weather there's proof it's valid or not. Which is why your complaints are ignored or replied to by CS reps who can't speak english and work from China.

I found Shadowbane to have the worst customer service. Their servers were hacked and people posted some rather hilarious videos of what they did while in control of the server. As it is a pure pvp game, cheating sort of ruins it for the fair players, so you pretty much had to complain about it; but when you did, rather than investigate and maybe try to fix the problems, they sent out a form letter [wonder why they had one of those pre-written?] about how there was no cheating, we were imagining things. Thats the point you just cant play anymore, when you are owned by cheaters, people who fully admit cheating and laugh in your face, and the company just denies it.
Not to mention, the GMs also played games with the guilds with favoritism and bald faced cheating. And it wasn't just GMs helping thier friends out, no it was clearly a policy by the company to promote tension between guilds. If one guild truly did conquer a server there wouldnt be much fun in playing, so they hedged here and there. Not so bad except supposedly anybody was able to start a guild, but the shenanigans played by the GMs and the cheaters combined made the game a complete joke.
And finally of course, the game was full of bugs. It was death by a million papercuts and a couple of large axes. Its too bad too, since the gameplay and GvG were well designed.

Don't know about some other games but Lineage 2 has the worst that I have played with! SOME GM PLEASE STOP THE ADENA FARMERS, EBAYERS, BOTTERS, AND DELEVELERS! no gm does

CoH surprised me nicely the other days.
Of course we all hope there would be no need to petition ever.
They answer within the hour.
I was unable to type any message at all, however I was able to do anything in the game, except chatting, I was feeling hopeless at that point, having wait like 30 minutes and then unable to chat...
Then the GM send me a tell. I am pretty sure in almost every game a GM with no answer would have assume I was afk, uninterested or something and bum off
The GM pop in front of me! I start using the many emotes the game offer! The GM figured my problem(from reading my petition alone, which is a feat by GM standards) AND once it was resolve ask me to log and come back and see if I can chat. I was just back in, trying to type the GM name and I receive his tell, despite the fact I took a few moments to reload the game!
I dont say it is perfect! I wish we dont need to use CS. But in CoH, they impress me well!
But I am LOOOOVING the game more then ever, maybe it biaised my judgment!

If one were to look up idiot fanboy in the dictionary it would have a picture of Explorer in it. Dude all you do is defend SWG no matter how many people think its bad. You make statements in complete denial of the truth so I normally just ignore you. However it warmed my heart to see others here agree with me.
Want proof SOE sucks ? I've given you thousands of pieces of evidence but here's more... check out swg forums under In Live section... they have a post going that tells players if they gather for protests they will be banned LOL. What other game has ever had to post a threat to its player base telling them to stop protesting stuff ???? What other game for that matter do you see literally THOUSANDS of players on several different servers gathering to shout protests because they have no other choice (since their postings get deleted). Of course Explorer would have you believe SOE never deletes postings.
There are regular threads over at swg (before they get removed) that reach 100+ pages after each publish because things are so bad over there. But I guess you're right Explorer and thousands of players are wrong. Hell, just a week ago (before they removed it) there was a 177+ page posting complaining about publish 10 jedi revamp and the bugs that resulted from it. Of course Explorer would demand a link to said posting (even though it was common knowledge however already deleted by SOE). Its got so bad for players after pub 10 that they decided to gather at starports and protest since SOE continued to ignore their customer service tickets and deleted their posts. Now how good can SOE customer service be when players who've dedicated a year to a game have to actually stage a protest because there's no ther way to get some action from SOE. Of course, typical of SOE... they gave the players an answer to their demands for help... they told them to disperse or get banned.
I guess its pointless though with Explorer. I occasionally post links about the ridiculous things SOE is doing over there and immediately Explorer is there posting stuff againts it. I recently postyed on swg forum section about how SOE overhyped the game back before launch. Of course Explorer wanted screenies (like I keep screenies from 14 months ago and links) Also you usually misread stuff like asking where these alleged screenshots were for stormtroopers questioning cantina owners. I never said that happened, I said that in an ADVERTISEMENT SOE showed stormtroopers questioning shop owners which gave the impression (and wrong one) that npcs would be actively engaging and hunting us. (you need to read my other post closer). So even when you TRY and disagree and counterpoint my points you totally miss the point. SOE overhyped the game, misled its player base, flat out lied in most cases, you still dont see it = fanboy. We could have GOD, the president, and Albert Einstein say SOE sucks and you'd still argue against it.
Fact is SOE has awful CS and always has. Nobody else here would say SOE has good cs besides you explorer. And saying to keep screenshots so you can get items reinmbursed just shows your ignorance. SOE's policy has always been to NOT replace missing or lost items. SOE has told players it will never replace missing items no matter what repeatedly. Of course I dont have a link wth me so it must not be true right Explorer.
