The Fury EU server reached it's player limit today.
Not too shabby for a dying game - according to some here.

Judging from the research conducted by one subscriber below we can only guess as to the other populations with the high that Fury is at now. Does that mean Fury got popular all of a sudden? Or it just has a cooler name? Or was it because it's a PvP server?
July 2008 (Europe)F.decorate(_ge('button_bar'), F._photo_button_bar).bar_go_go_go(2634834704, 0); F.decorate(_ge('photo_notes'), F._photo_notes).notes_go_go_go(2634834704, 'http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3039/2634834704_2d876926ff_t.jpg', '3.1444'); The data in this graph has been polled by creating a character in each european server of Age of Conan, reaching level 5 to access the search player function and doing a search for players of levels 1-80. The pages have been counted and multiplied by 50 (there are 50 characters per page in the list) and then the characters on the last pages have been manually counted and added to the total. The polling was done between July the 1st and July the 3rd, 2008, in a timeframe included between 6.30 PM and 9 PM CET. Of course the statistical value of this graph is debatable, but should give a pretty good idea of the number of characters logged in each server during primetime, to identify which servers have an high population and which turned into ghost towns. Gathering more solid data is difficult due to the extremely small limit of characters available on each account and the fact that getting to level 5 to access player search takes at least 15 minutes. |
What do you think?

Meh..? A Euro PvP server reached capacity for some time? Not a ringing accolade, but +1 Amazing Avery!
EDIT: I'll give you AA, it's as hard evidence as the "dying" crowd can produce, so props.
What do I think?
I think that was more than a month ago.
STOP WHINING!
Wow, good point.
"The polling was done between July the 1st and July the 3rd, 2008"
I'd be interested in seeing current numbers.
Thats not the first time that happens on Fury.. Right after earlyacces launch, the server was stated at High Load, and no one could create new characters.
wow read the articles that went with that spiffy graph....

The server reached its max yesterday, and is increasing next week. The poll was done a month ago yes, but was only one I could recently find. Was looking for how popular Fury Server was in the past for comparison.
The server full notice just went up.
I'm sorry to shoot down your amazing news.
However, more than likely, what this really means is that they have lowered the server max for Fury and likely other servers.
If the server is just now showing max players would it not make sense that it should have displayed max during release when the servers were under heavy load?
If you want to dispute that then have a look at the graph you posted. This information is now over a month old and I don't think anyone here will deny that servers have fewer players than they did a month ago.
This leads to the conclusion that the server max has been lowered.
This has an obvious and straight-forward explaination.
There's two deciding factors that has made Fury maxed out.
Point 1:
Age of Conan servers count the number of total characters created on each server, not number of active accounts playing. That means if you put all your alts on Fury you'll max out Fury faster, and even if you unsubscribed after release all your characters will still count towards the server capacity.
Point 2:
Because the servers are dieing, people do forced migrations from the ghost town servers to the places where people still hang out. Fury happens to be where the EU crowd is gathering up because it's always been the "main" PvP server.
These two come together to create a funnel effect into Fury. Like someone said above, it's Auto Assault over again. AA merged all its servers and got a pretty healthy population on the one it was left with, but even that server eventually bled down to 50 active players per faction, and in the end it died.
You really should read the articles that came with the graphs by the way.
The server reached its max yesterday, and is increasing next week.
Am i missing something?? how do you know the future numbers?? Dion Warwick and her Psychic Friends?
So another amazingavery post.
so averey what is the server capasity? is it a virtual server or are they physicaly diffrent servers / blades?
in order to start boasting a server is full you need to provide the information.
hell i could set up a 32 player server and brag its full.
You can hold 32 players? DAMNNNNN. I can only hold 24
Spinning for the PR position huh?
Well lets look at a paragraph from the actual article
"As you can see from the table and the graphs there are some pretty evident conclusion to be made:
While there are a few servers that have an healthy population of over 2000 people there's only one that still surpasses the 3000 people online at the same time. the 36% of servers have a pretty average population between 1000 and 2000 concurrent players, that the ones that played lot of MMORPG will identify as pretty shaky (just to make an example that isn't the usual WoW, most Final Fantasy XI servers in the first couple years after the american release very rarely went below the 3000 players online during primetime).
The most discouraging data, though, comes from the very high percentage of servers that are plagued by a very low concurrent population (under 1000). They represent a whopping 44% of the total. Even more discouraging if we consider that the 16% of the servers (4) fail to reach 500 (actually they fail to reach even 300) people logged in at the same time: basically the gamers playing in 11 servers between the 25 available face a population problems that can make playing and finding people to actually do something quite a feat by Itself."
Oh my. The same thing everyone besides the blind fanboys have been saying for some time.
"Look Mommy, I'm a rocket scientist" the little boy said while standing on the wreckage of 1000 failed launches.
Fungerer som det skal
Fury just lost one of it's most hardcore guilds. A guild that I remember from 2005 in the forums following and looking forward to the game.

Well I still do not like the game, so I guess I will just say thankyou for sharing with us this all so interesting news and graph : /
Haha it's not Avery saying the server was full it was FC lol! or is Avery a FC administator that post patch messages and so on? lol that really tickled me how people still play it down...i have to admit i have now taken a break from the game due to boredom but it still makes me laugh how desperate people get to slam the game lol.
Come on carry this thread on its funny!
I laugh when I see people desperately trying to defend a video game. Ha ha.
Thats awesome.
Wow. AmazingAvery seems really desperate to prove this dying game is not dying.
It doesn't matter how many times you say the world is flat, it still is not flat.
I can't believe he is made correspondent and this is the way he spends his mandate?? Like a kid's post: "haha I told you". And on top of that he spreads lies and misinformation, knowing how things are.
And old graphs.
Fury server is full is an artificial thing that can be tampered with. Plus you have to take into account that Fury was the first server released in EA before the rest. Shouldn't a triple A mmo have more full servers? And aren't people going to the most popular server often?
So AmazingAvery - tell us why you want to spread Funcom propaganda! Why? You do it in post after post after post. You are now not just the number one fanboy, but also correspondent. How far will you take this? Defending a company that misleads and lies to its customer base.
Are you proud of yourself? Looked in the mirror lately?
Again, what a fanboi spinoff lol.
Learn to comprehend what you read. Server Fury has reached its player capacity, no new characters can be created on this server.
So, since launch, the amount of toons created on this server is X (we don't know).
Considering the fact the Funcom will not delete characters of those players who have already left, this news means *nothing* with BIG BOLD letters. It has zero information about the number of subscribers, for instance...
Nice try tho!
DB
Denial makes one look a lot dumber than he/she actually is.
Why would your average fan, know, research, care and post information such as this. Unless there is more to the fan's connection to Funcom than we know !
I just hope up coming releases such as Warhammer, Aion, TCoS, Stargate Worlds and such, don't use marketing tricks like Funcom, as this can cause forum's to become useless.
I laugh when I see people desperately trying to defend a video game. Ha ha.
Hmm ok friend please explain how me saying the game is boring is defending it lol....this just gets funnier and funnier! seriously though does anyone else think i was defending it? it's a game that's all, people just get so serious about trying to put up thier own fight. if only they put the effort into world peace or something lol.
Dont get me wrong i myself have argued blue about games in the past, but to be honest i always read what i posted later when i calm down and think "lol i'm just as sad as them" I mean it's one thing putting in your opinion about a game but another to shoot people down because of it.
lol@ desperate Funcom PR on these boards
That is just amazing.
thanks Mchar11 i do admit to feeling a little foolish now hehe

The rest of the graph...32254 grand total ppl in Europe playing at primetime...guessing that Americas would be close to that number as well....far cry from the 700k number we keep hearing about eh?
