All the classes have some sort of CC, but keep in mind, much like all other dots and debuffs, CC is short termed and very light. None of this CC 1 target and kill the other before a response BS. Think 3-5 sec snare, root, stuns, etc, but you don't have 15 of them, only a couple.
Trainwreckx - Is the reward you get from influence the same as the rewards dropped from the PQ?
No, drops are drops, influence rewards are totally seperate and you get them from a vendor/quest NPC of sorts.
1) Stats wise, do the items have lots of different and interesting stats? If you have LOTRO items at the bottom with very few +stats like for instance +vitality and +dexterity, say 1 and D2+Titan Quest items as 10 with lots of different stats on each item in general: how would you rate WAR item stats on this scale from 1-10?
2) How does the items interface look, I mean, how good are the items pictured and how is the lore about them? In NWN the items in the 2D interface(bags) looked like crap (aka jelly men) - hopefully they are better designed and better "lore looking"?
3) Are some items soulbound as in WoW?
And a last question:
I've been planning to lvl a wow warrior for pvp, but I'd better like to make a similar char in WAR. I like the abilities the warrior get in WoW, like charge, intercept, shield bash, execute and so on, and my question is: do WAR have similar abilities for warriors to make them just as quick and hardhitting on the battlefield? Please describe them if they have anything similar to specifically charge and intercept.
How are swordmasters with board and sheild? I cant get a sheild atm and just have a 1h so i cant really test it atm.
Hold on Snow Leopard, imma let you finish, but Windows had one of the best operating systems of all time.

1) As far as RvR gear goes, they give 1 or 2 stats (and a lot of it) along with a fairly decent amount of resistances.
2) The icons look pretty good, obviously they haven't added all of them in yet as all helmates currently look like a dwarven mask. These are obviously place holders though, as adding in the extra icons isn't needed to beta test.
3) Yes. Items that you buy from an RvR vendor are automatically bound to your character, and certain items you find are bound when you first put them on.
Extra Q) I haven't seen any class, at all with an ability such as this. So far I've really only played a swordmaster and I can say that you really do not need charge / intercept at all. As your enemy loses health, their movement speed is decreased and also, all melee careers have a skill called "throw," basically, it throws an axe at the enemy and damages them. The thing is though, if they are low on health and are turned away from you, it does around 15-20x it's normal damage, which pretty much finishes them off.
There are more than enough slow down skills / snare morales to make sure no-one escapes you with low health. Also it should be noted that, as a melee career you can effectively run and "cast" so you dont need to stand still when you attack.
each tier has a multitude of pubic quests. They are objective real time scenarios. You join them just by walking into the area. When you enter the PQ area, the system will tell you what part they are in. Then you complete the tasks given..such as chopping down trees, getting beer kegs, killing qugs, etc. Once each phase is completed (3 phases per pq) you progress until the "boss" fight. You can do these quests as many times as you like..and they count towards rvr points and your ToK story progress. Then after it is done, you roll for loot based on amount of dmg,healing/participation points you have. Then it adds this number to the roll, so everyone has a chance of getting the loot (top 3 get loot usually), but those who worked harder have a better chance.
Also you can get rewards from accumlating influence points regardless. Follow your ToK....and you can get up to 3 rewards per public quest, based on how many influence points you accumulated
"each tier has a multitude of pubic quests"
I assume you go around chopping off the finest pubis of the enemies and give them to Borat in exchange for cash?
1) Decent quality items (read: Drops, some PQ, and PVP gear) will have 2-3 stats on them and resistance, ap regen, etc. There's not a whole lot of itemization in currently, but it's setup for it.
2) The interface is smooth and clean. Honestly, reminds me alot of a cross between WoW and EQ2. It's not overly cluttered and you can customize it. Still, I'll get a custom UI at release.
3) Yes, some items are. BOP, BOE, but not as bad as WOW but it is there.
4) Tanks are vicious. You never know what type you're going against, 2h vs 1h/shield is all you get to go off of and they can put out some serious hurting. I checked out the swordmaster mostly and they are quite flexible. It's not a matter of a few really big hits, it's a TON of little ones, dots, and a few decent sized crits. It's very easy to underestimate one in the first 3-5 seconds only to look up and have 3-5 things ticking on you, you're snared, and still getting pounded on. Now throw in hold the line and guard and the flexibility just gets even worse. All in all, Tanks are my #2 choice for killer classes in scenarios or large scale PVP/sieges. In reguards to upping damage, that's what tactics are for. +25% damage -20% defense and hate generation is all in 1 tactic, fairly low level too.
Thanks for the replies to my questions. It seems like they did put some thought into the public quest reward system so, uh, +1 Neanderthal faction for them for that. I'm sure that'll be the highlight of their day.
Originally posted by Arndur Ok my question got skipped over. How are swordmasters with board and sheild? I cant get a sheild atm and just have a 1h so i cant really test it atm.
Sword and Board is pretty useless if you ask me. They dont add extra armor, they just give you the ability to block melee attacks. I prefer the damage from the 2 hander, and it usually adds better stats than having a shield.
Arndur - Do more Scenarios, you can get a full suit of gear by level 10, RR6. You can pickup some decent shields at levels 2 and 4 as well. As far as 2h vs 1h/shield, it's a matter of choice. If built correctly, there's not a huge difference for swordmaster between the two in terms of DPS. Centuries of training with a 2.2 speed sword, 50% proc rate on sword enchantments, etc...it makes up for it quickly.
are black orcs viable in rvr as sword and board specced?
dude i play a Zealot and Black orcs are welcome to tank for me anyday they can run over ppl and have so much armor and life i love healing them cause with 5+ ppl on them i can keep them alive with ease thats why i enjoy doing the senarios greenskin/darf cause you know your gunna get alot of BO's haha and btw with me and a sham we can keep a party of 6 alive in pvp and never run out of mana <ap in war>
Originally posted by TrainwreckX Is the reward you get from influence the same as the rewards dropped from the PQ?
No. Influence is like an exp bar split into 3 sections, once you hit the bar in a section, you can choose 1 item.
In tier 1 & 2, influence rewards for the first section are pots / elixers. The second section is mediocre equipment, and the third section (elite) consists of powerful gear.
There are 3-6 area's within each half-tier that offer these influence rewards and it's safe to say that once you get the "max ranked" rvr gear for that tier, the first half-tier's worth of influence rewards are pretty much redundant.
(By half tier I mean, each tier is split into 2 areas)
EDIT: And the items you get from a PQ are different to what you get through influence, the top PQ item is generally better than the best influence item, or on par.

1. How are tanks overpowered? (Mainly only needing the Order side) 2. Keep sieges, about how many people does it take to take one down? 3. Guild structure? Like it? Love it? Hate it? 4. Average time to get to level cap for casual player? 5. How hard to get from one racial starter zone to another? Dwarf player playing with Human friend? 6. Trophies easily aquired? Look cool? Thanks!
1. tanks are a force to be reckoned with i hate order so never played them but my black orc was pvp'n with ppl lvl 1-11. i was no where near getting 1 shotted and was doing very good damage i thought. with crap armor and weps lol and was lvl 6 to start
2. we took one today with 1 group 6 ppl there was a few defenders but not many like 4 i think. how many ppl you need really depends on how many ppl are there defending. hell we took one lastnight with alot of defenders and took us longer with 24 ppl
3. i like it alot your guild lvl's up can have alliance's alot of cool things on the guild tab
4. dunno havent hit it but i got into beta like 2 weeks ago and i work 12 hours a day and have a fam so i dont get alot of time but i have 2 lvl 14's lol and 8 alts <had to test them all out>
5. it's really easy you go to your war camp right on the edge of zones open world rvr zone. and fly there it's pretty cheap too
6. lvl 14 2 trophies so dunno what that tells ya. lill small imo but im low lvl so maby they get bigger later on
Question: I was able to play a quick shot of beta for prolly till lv 11 then my friend wanted his account back, hehe. My question is has the attack average speed increased? I really enjoyed the attack sounds and all that but sometimes I just didn't feel like using a bunch of abilities and just watching him fight, I know I wont do that in PvP but in PvE I did.
So I'll just get right to the point: Has the average attack speed increased, and if not when Tier 4 hits is it pretty fast? I'm rolling Chosen and I want a claymore (2h Sword)
Did anyone play the Witch Hunter career? If so is it fun to play and is it good in RvR?
Thanks for the answers
The Witch Hunter is a fun class to play. You can do really well in PvE going solo. In RvR its a bit harder seeing as for some reason I think destruction likes to gang up on our class
The problem with RvR atm is the whole WoW-Blitz way of thinking. Squishies seem to run out past the tanks and end up getting spanked hard. I was in a really great team while in a scenario. I stayed behind the tanks with our healer and nukes. When the tanks cornered someone I would swoop in, nail them a few times and fall back. We managed to hold our position for the length of battle with only 2 deaths for myself.
Most annoying thing in RvR is when you try to fall back to healers only to run into a wall of on coming players. It was like when you are in a narrow hall way and you walk into someone. You both end up moving the same direction a few times and then you get killed by the squig you were trying to run from :P
There are 3 types of people in the world. 1.) Those who make things happen 2.) Those who watch things happen 3.) And those who wonder "What the %#*& just happened?!"
Chosen attack speed - About the same, damage isn't from auto attacks it's from abilities.
Witch Hunter's like other melee DPS, gotta get in close and the game is tilted to ranged due to the missing 4 classes.
Best classes for RVR right now, ranged DPS, Tanks, and Healers. But that's all my opinion.
Keep in mind, what works well for scenarios may be utter trash for sieges. Tanks and Melee DPS, you should prolly bring a healthy stock of siege weapons.

One thing that concerned me the most during my entire time beta testing was the usefullness of Tanks in RvR. I haven't played much beta recently, so I don't know how their current state is now, but as of early to mid summer they were totally gimed in PvP/RvR. They needed way more utility and Crowd Control. From what I am hearing tanks are getting a lot better but I am still questionable about it.
I will start of by saying, I love WAR and will be playing it at release. Now to get into the nitty gritty. Alundre does have a few good points. Buildings of the same faction do have very similar layouts just decorated differently. Some of the character animations are stiff and need some refining but this can be tweaked over time. I found that "time to kill" NPCs was very short especially based on DPS classes. With a sorceress it took two spells to kill a mob of equal level. Scenarios are based on a capture the flag type combat sense, but to me this is not where the PvP shines. You need to spend time in the RvR lakes for the true RvR to come to fruition.
Like I said, I didn't get tooo deeply into the RvR but I did play quite a few scenarios so it may get better but unfortunately for me, the PvE was just entirely too boring for me to continue so I will probably never find out.
To each their own.
Ah ok dude thats all you had to say!!!
Your a pve guy thats cool, everyone knows this is a rvr (pvp) game and World rvr is the meat of it.
