Sorry if this has already been asked. I haven't read the enitre thread (most of it, though).

Is there any kind of kill-to-death ratio ranking system? ie, is there any way for another player to see what "rank" you are?

    Thanks

so2404 - Warpriest is a melee healer, don't melee, can't really heal.  Now, they are very durable and one of the harder targets to take down.  Now granted, the seperation of divine pool vs ap makes them resistant to AP damaging moves, but at a range, they have issues.

Alioth - Cross faction, level only from what I've seen.  You can always eyeball the person's gear and after a while, get a feel for how much RVR they've done.

And do I have access to it, my mythic account says:
    Account description
    XoREHABoX
    Enabled
    Open Beta
    Head Start
    Gamestop Preorder
    WAR preview

Think of it like a weekend long demo of the game.

Do I have access to it? Do any of those enabled things give me access.

If you have the war preview enabled on your account, you should have recieved an email with the new download location. I think the preview begins friday (ill have to look again)

There are 3 types of people in the world.
1.) Those who make things happen
2.) Those who watch things happen
3.) And those who wonder "What the %#*& just happened?!"

Concerning the WAR Preview weekend, if you have that in your account management u will have access to the Preview weekend starting this friday. They said though they just began sending out email notifications so you might not have an email about the even till wed or thurs.

i have one question though, can anyone tell me what they think the best tanking career is on the Order side? Thanks

  • DloreDlore Member UncommonPosts: 462

Alright another question even though mine has not been answered yet!

What is the social aspects of the game? I really liked how SWG was social with making buildings cities etc. Is WAR social like that even if its not I'm ok with that. And if not can you atleast make guild keeps/

As i said in my previous post, mythic just started sending out emails concerning the event. You might not get one until wed or thurs. I havent recieved one yet either, alot of people haven't.

If someone could still answer my question though about the best tanking career on the Order side. Thanks!

For order, you have the Ironbreaker on the dwarven side and the elven side you have the Swordmaster. The one you play depends on your playstyle. The dwarven ironbreaker depends on taking hits to be most effective, so in essence, he is probably the epitomy of the tank.

Very social with public quests and the crafting is very interesting.  I have met a lot of neat people in closed beta and am sure when the game goes live there will be even more!

You take a flight master, and it's a loading screen - teleport.

I really enjoyed the attack sounds and all that but sometimes I just didn't feel like using a bunch of abilities and just watching him fight, I know I wont do that in PvP but in PvE I did.

So I'll just get right to the point: Has the average attack speed increased, and if not when Tier 4 hits is it pretty fast? I'm rolling Chosen and I want a claymore (2h Sword)

I'm not sure I know what you are asking.  People do complain about slugish combat.  Devs are aware of this.  There has been one patch to fix this.  There may be more.

You walk in a an area with a PQ and you get a notice and the stage (most quests have 3 or more stages).  So you can start helping and in the end, depending on how much you contributed you will get a bonus to the loot roll.  if you win loot it will tell you an you go and pick up the loot bag, each bag has a lot of things to choose from.  Armor, weapons, crafting items, gold... so you can choose the one you like the best.

Most of them are really fun,  they take about 5-10 minutes to complete depending of the skill or level of the ones involved and there are a lot of them

Let me add a note here..There are groups you can join for PQ's. There is an icon near the bottom left of your portrait that opens a window with all the Open Groups/Raids you can join in the zone. Open groups/raids are open to any and you can join in and leave at any time.

Joining a open group/raid in PQ's or open RvR zones is the smartest thing you can do because you have a better chance at getting a heal or gaining buffs from doing so. This is especially true if you start receiving damage and need help. In fact you can earn more money by doing so since money drops are split by the open raid/group and you get a chance to roll for more loot then you would if you were killing stuff by yourself. As a whole PQ's and the "Open Group" concept is a brilliant idea that allows everyone to get involved with very little hassle.

Games I've played/tried out:WAR, LOTRO, Tabula Rasa, AoC, EQ1, EQ2, WoW, Vangaurd, FFXI, D&DO, Lineage 2, Saga Of Ryzom, EvE Online, DAoC, Guild Wars,Star Wars Galaxies, Hell Gate London, Auto Assault, Grando Espada ( AKA SoTNW ), Archlord, CoV/H, Star Trek Online, APB, Champions Online, FFXIV, Rift Online, GW2.

    Game(s) I Am Currently Playing:

    GW2 (+LoL and BF3)

How are swordmasters with board and sheild? I cant get a sheild atm and just have a 1h so i cant really test it atm.

Sword and Board is pretty useless if you ask me. They dont add extra armor, they just give you the ability to block melee attacks. I prefer the damage from the 2 hander, and it usually adds better stats than having a shield.

Shields give no armor, but they give you a % chance to block.

Block counters all types of damage including spells!

At 40 you will have between a 20-30% block rate depending on gear, class and spec.

There are also several moves that require a shield that grant bonuses to block, like hold the line which is a channeled move that adds somethin like 50% block chance for 1o secs or so for you and anyone behind you, so you can turn it on and charge forward. This moves animation has you sort of hunkering behind your shield which is cool.

Shields are awesome in this game.

I currently play CoH, and they allow you to have a party with up to 8 people.

What is the maximum party size in WAR?

    Thanks,

6 in a party...but you can form a huge group via warband.....i think you can have up to 24 people? if i remember correctly...sort of like a raid group...but they can be done anywhere, at any time, and count as a group

    6. After that it turns into a Warband (raid group).

    Cool.

What are the differences for a warband vs. a party?

Are there restrictions in what a warband can do that that aren't present for a party?  And vice-versa.

None so far as I have seen. You'll still get credit for kills, loot chances, etc. that you get in a regular party. Some abilities that affect only party members will not affect members of the warband outside of your party, but other than that, not really.

Spells that affect your group are still limited to your sub-group in a warband. So if you cast your group heal your not going to affect your entire warband just your subgroup of 6.

There have also been alot of Public Quest questions and I just have to link this You Tube video as I think the creator did a nice overview:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ipFfT3RiNKs

For the Mount questions here is a good one that showcases the various mounts:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sa6zafw0x8c

And a nice RvR video that really captures the feel:

    http://media.curse.com/dl2/WHATrailer-1280x800.wmv

Oh... and a previous post was asking about last names. They were not in beta however a last name "vendor" was... so its likely you will have access to a last name later on as you level up.

    LAST NAMES ARE POSSIBLE!!!

If you click the little square by the mini map there is an option to show 'Last Name Registrar' (or similar) so although I haven't registered a last name, nor do I know the requirements for it - If that NPC is there, what does it tell you?

  • NogginNoggin Member Posts: 808

Miagisan, how can you tell what your FPS is in game please?

  • GreenfeenGreenfeen Member UncommonPosts: 47

Can someone please comment on crowd control in pvp.

Is it designed more just to throw a wench into the other guy  or is it more like the chain mezz gang gank hell of lotro?

As well any comments on stealth.

    Cheers
