Maplestory run problems?

I sent an email to their tech support, but I wanted to see if anyone else ran into this problem as well. I downloaded and installed the game. Then, I went to open it up and I get an hourglass, then nothing. ctrl+alt+del shows it's running yet I have nothing on the screen other than my windows crap. I'm running an AMD Athlon 2000+ with 256 megs of ram and a Radeon 9200 vid card with win98SE. Anyone else have this problem or have a solution?

SOE makes decent games that appeal to nerds. Their customer service is run by jocks who bully nerds. Wonder why SOE sucks so bad...

    Hrm, I installed on 2 systems as well. I hope someone else contacted CS and got a responce and can share it with me. My wife seems to love these asian MMORPGs, so it's about the only thing we can play together :/ In anycase, thanks for letting me know I'm not the only one with the problem :)

    I had a thought. Should I install the zipped version, even though it's in korean? I'm thinking maybe it'll work?

    You guys might want to try this: In the Maple Story directory, there is a file called setup.exe. Run it, then answer no to it's question. Let us know what happens.

    ok i got kinda same problem...

    when i run the "can u see this file alt+h" thingy it works good..

    but when i press patch or the .exe nothing happens..

    i formatted my pc yesterday cause more games werent running which i could play before..

    after the format those games worked well again but maplestory didntimage

    Already tried it. 5 times to be exact. Didn't work. No responce from tech support yet either. To those with the same problem, what OS are you using? Perhaps there's a common thread here?

    First off, there's no translation error in the game. The name, I assume, is derived from the name of the lands your in, "Maple World". Secondly, if you're not going to contribute to the solution for this problem, post somewhere else please.

    I have to ask, whats maplestory? I searched it and it only came up in a language I couldn't read (you guys said it was translated somewhere?).

    http://www.mapleglobal.com  that's the english version of the site where you can get info and downloads.

    Now, on to the errors. I have been having a different problem lately. I installed, patched and played the game most of yesterday. At one point I went to log in and accidentally put in my password in caps. Of course I got an error message and then tried again. I now get the following pop up when I go to log in.

    "We're still processing your request at this time, so you don't have access to this game for now."

     

    and a e-mail address to contact.

     

    Now, my theory is that the game servers are down. I'm thinking since you guys have never installed and patched before that the game is trying to connect and patch but can't reach home ???

     

    Since I was previously playing I am all patched up but can't log in ...... make any sense ??

     

    Since they don't have forums it's hard to get any information.

    That's the possibility I thought of earlier. That when I go to open the program, the patcher opens. BUT, since the server's down, the program can't connect to it, so it doesn't open. That's what I'm thinking anyways. Hopefully in the next 24 hours I'll get an email back from tech support telling me what the hell the problem is. Once I get it, I'll copy cut and paste it over here in this thread for everyone.

    Same here. I haven't gotten word from tech support and it's been 2 days. Even those idiots over at CiB got back to me faster than that. As for the moron trying to flame me AGAIN, get a friggen life man. Or take some ecstacy or something. If you're not gonna be part of the solution, stop posting in this damn thread.     Ok so I got the game, but it says I'm unable to login? Is that their problem or mine... I think their login server is down right now.

    Day 3, and still no reply from CS. Begining to wonder if they are nixing the idea of bringing the game here at all. Their website has 3 messages on it, 1 saying there's a new version, 1 saying welcome to the game, and the other says whereever the game has already been released cannot log into this service. Frustrating.

    Man...what the hell? i wanna play this game already......and its still not frigging working , and nobody heres gotten any info back from the CS....this sucks.

    It's back up! There's a notice on their page about changing from a closed beta format to an open beta. I guess people being able to get in right away a few days ago was just a fluke.
