    Nice screens thanks for sharing.

Out of every 100 men, 10 should not be there,
80 are nothing but targets, 9 are the real fighters.
Ah, but one, ONE of them is a warrior,
and he will bring the others home.

You mean from a technical perspective I assume?  If you can't see beauty in those screenshots you must be dead inside, they're amazing.

Still waiting for your Holy Grail MMORPG? Interesting...

"The graphics haven't improved i see."

Always has to be at least one.

    Those screens are pretty sweet.

That Guild Wars 2 login screen knocked up my wife. Must be the second coming!

Graphic was never close to the top of my list, but if one thinks these shots are pretty, one must had not seen much beauties lately. In fact, some of the old world of WOW can easily best these shots. Also, still that same big, fat, detail less way of art that they are using. It's getting old. Like Recant said, no improvement can be verified. Yawning!

Actually, if i look out my window right now I've got the ocean expanse as far as the eye can see. So yeah. Pretty dead inside when i see these images.

    Why must you tempt me to start playing WoW again? ;_;

The skies and the lighting effects look nice, I suppose, but nothing better than what it's competitors have to offer. I've never been a fan of the exaggerated proportions and child-like cartoonishness that WoW uses, so I wouldn't say that they look "sweet" to me at all, just more of the same. If you want to look at some impressive graphics, try AoC.

For example, the distance shot of the first "castle" reminds me much more of something made with childrens' building blocks than a stunning location like Angkor Wat.

here are some I took while enjoying the beta. I'll make and post a HD video when the EU server sorts its self out.

  • WotLK looks amazing, Azeroth but a thousand times better. Most of the 'official' screenshots are early-Alpha. Look at fansites for updated ones.

This looks great! even better when TBC came out.

But I don't think I buy WOTLK after release as i did with TBC

I gonna wait a while before paying for wow again

I totally love those exaggerated models and child like aesthetics, it always reminds me of how much more fun you can have when you stop taking yourself too seriously. They are really gorgeous in their simplicity, thanks for posting.

I'm so buying this the first day!

Well id say the graphics have improved big time from the original WoW. The level of artistic detail in the Nexus is better  than any instance in WoW.

But i guess to each their own.

Ugh sorry. Some would call it "art style" but sadly those screens just don't appeal to me, why? because it's MORE OF THE SAME JUNK. My god, nothing changes with this game and the "artists" need to be removed and get some fresh talent in. Expansions are meant to be a change, not more of the same. This engine gets old so fast it sickens me. Not to mention most of the raid content will still be designed for the unemployed, so why even continue to pay thees guys when they design content for those who have no life? it's beyond me.

I used to love this game, heck I was the biggest Blizztard fan for ages. Considering how long it took for their expansions they should've been epic, it's so slow and all the same. Just more retarded reps. People who have a life or jobs/careers already grind enough as it is. That's why people like Jeff Kaplan ( lead designer) are designing crap like constant rep grinds, that's why you don't hire previously unemployed hardcore raiders as a game designer for your project. I think game designers should have to work for 10-12 hrs, then come home and try to progress in their "casually claimed" game. By progression I don't mean just geting to 70, I mean getting equipped once you get there.

The first batch of screenshots look great, but then coffee put it all back into perspective by including a purple haired Night Elf guy in the second batch... I'm not sure that I should be thankful for that or not.

Really nice looking shots. Will see if I restart my account just to explore Northrend or not at release.

  • McwallenMcwallen Member UncommonPosts: 70

I dont think many people get the style that World of Warcraft goes for, if they were to change graphics to try and make it look more realistic, they would lose some fans, plus, i dont know what you are thinking if you expect MMOs to look like the ocean out the window... you mean so three/quarters of WoW players can't play becuz stupid people like you wanted to make the game more graphically intensive? Not that it would matter with my computer but since the vast majority of WoW subscribers dont have 8800s, there is a good reason for having a less intensive (graphically) game.

Looking at these shots, its good to see they are actually adding some real shadows to the game. i know its not much but its one of the fews things that really doesn't have any affect on the style of the game, but still makes it look better. I am tired of having a darkened dot under my character.

On a side note do these shadows only exist in Northrend or are they being added globally

Hype is my nemesis. i will fight it til the day i die whether i take it down or it takes me down. So depressing, Yes?
