I never liked this argument..   IF you can link where mythic said this is a game primarily for north america I will accept it.

I havent tryed war yet but intend to when the official release comes around not open beta. How can you say i game is a flop before its even released properly.People are complaining like mad that they screwed up but at least they admit it and apologised after playing wow for 2 years

I never saw blizz do this they just ignor people.Problems are going to happen in beta what did you exspect a perfectly running game if you did youre an idiot sorry to say.

I dont belive war will overtake wow but thats only because war just seems like another mmorpg to me and nothing in it that hasent been done before or makes it stand out from the crowed but i do belive war will do well.

And this is why Americans have a terrible global image. Why do so many people fit the stereotype?

Wait a minute I have a terrible global image because MMO companies in America can't figure out how to properly host games in Europe?

Here I thought it was something else..

Actually as far as I think I remember... I read that the market in Europe was considered larger (tho mostly untapped) than the one in the US... for MMO's anyway.

I really don't know but GOA is a european operation and since they failed with DAoC yes Mythic should have used someone else.. but I could also say.. that GOA gives a certain image of what they must be trying to work with.. in Euro areas...

I probably should have touched the subject a little more thoroughly. I wasn't talking about EA/Mythic - I was referring to Paki's ignorance. Just that typical American haughtiness - that touch of "games made by American companies are for Americans, so if you have a problem with that go **** yourself - or make your own games." Ridiculous. That's no excuse for any failure by a company to deliver on its promises or provide its product hitch-free, whether in the US or in EU.

Well I really dont care what non-americans think about me. I am fine as I am dont need your opinions..

Frankly the title of this thread is quite misleading. Maybe state the game as failure in europe but not a blanket failure like he states. People in north america hasn't had a single issues and again since they are located 1000's miles from you cut them some slack. I hope one day some local european company can produce a good mmo for you but until than learn to be little bit patient.

Hmm the odd thing is the first month of WoW is really the only month I played.. and I never saw this.

There was the stuck in the "looting position" due to database lag.. but never the mob issue.

I do remember hearing about the mob issue later (I have friends that still play WoW) but I never saw it at launch.  Vanguard was probably the worst...  Of course this is easy to say simply because it also had the bug where you could log out... log back in Dead... 3 levels lower and in the middle of an ocean you were never near  (then again you could fall through the boat and take 10,000+ dmg as well).

Never saw this in LoTRO either.. tho again I only played the first month.

    Regardless...

    Your point is ..

Game A, B or C had this issue so its ok for WAR to have it?

Personally I would think at some point... it wouldn't be an issue.  I guess I just don't follow the logic of why its ok or to be accepted... Do we need another 2 decades of MMO's before its not ok?

    And...

Someone in this thread said Mythic is a small company with little resources?  I must have missed something because I believe that's why they sold to EA... to have the resources..

This Boreil obviously never played wow in beta. wow was polished anf functiional in beta unlike war. I was in closed beta for both games. And all these people stating they have fun in war ??  How...  i must be missing somthing.  " You cant attack this"  ..."this whatever is retreating".... " Target is to far away"...and its standin on your toes eating your face...thats fun ?  Now add pvp into the mix.  You need to kill all the mobs around a flag, then click the flag to take a location.  So you have an epic battle and defeat the oposing players....but wait ...the npc bugs and you cant attack it...so you cant take your objective. So you run all around trying to reset the npc.  Woot now all the oposing players have respawned and roflstomped your face ftl. Beyond that combat consists of pressing 3 buttons over and over.  War to me falls flat on its face in evry way. In its current state its a bugridden disaster. i could go on forever.

    Fanboys may flame away.

Where NA and Asia are the primary cash providers for developers. there isnt alot of  games that have sold more in Europe then over NA and Asia. So you get  the Shaft. Europe is where games go to Die =P

You guys are lame.. giving bad reviews on the game that hasn't been launched yet.. I've been playing the OB.. and I don't see there's anything to complain about. Some lag in certain areas are to be expected but other than that, it's a fucking neat game. RvR is so much fun. I'm not one to compare a game to another.. cuz it's frankly simple; if I don't like it.. I wouldn't play it. If you don't like it, just shut up about it and delete the game.. and play what you like best. Isn't that fairly easy? Gee, I think so.

True but England Companies would crumble if they relied on British Revenue.  They target NA and Asian markets to boost revenue for England. Worrying about a few angry Europeans and Worrying about pleasing a Multi-Million Dollar Market in NA and Asia i think they will choose us over there european breathren any day wouldn't you agree?

People need to learn what a Beta is. Stop crying the sky is falling because you can't play a Beta. Who cares really. If this happens on release, then you have a valid argument. Do not bring up you paid to get into Beta, yada yada yada...you paid for a preorder, it is money that is put towards the purchase of the final product. the open Beta, Head Start, and Items, are just incentives to get in and pre order. If you read the fine print actually, Beta access is not guaranteed to anyone.

Oh well they have some bugs and are working on it. Open betas up and you can not play. cry cry cry. Damn, get out of your house and find a real problem. Life just suck.

I've visited a friend of mine who's currently playing the WAR OB. Unlike myself he was able to start playing on sunday as the OB commenced. My first impressions where pretty good really. The game ran smoothly, Quest system, rewards the RvR, it all looked like I expected and appeared to run without any single problem. All the nice features of the "Questbook" etc etc. I could go on and on about all the stuff the game holds. Main thing is after seeing and playing for a little while, I liked it!

Biggest downside is that I can't get it into my big head why GOA hasn't opened up his accountservers a week or so before launch? They're messing up the start of a game that feels like it got a lot of potential in several areas I found other mmo's lacking. Why doesn't every other CE pre-order buyer get in at the same time... As in real life first impressions count, ... having to wait over 2 days in order to get a mail returned weither to tell you you entered one code correctly or not to gain acces to something they promote as a sales pitch (yes, they did ;)) but can't present it at the time the buyer wants to redeem it .... that I do agree is failure. If something like this would happen at the company I work for heads would roll, real life ganking would occur :D

Anyways hopefully I'll be getting the email sometime soon and i'll be able to enjoy the game that I really long for. And for gods sake, kick GOA out of the deal and find a new partner, they're not up for it, as they've proven the past 72 hours.

IMO, WAR was the last hope against WoW, and it has completely failed. Looks like there will be no big changes in the MMO world any time soon.

Its about release at the end of the day and the game cannot fail till its released. im playing on EU servers and having a blast..the game is awesome, so it wont fail.

Someone tried..... unfortunatley. It was the other major MMoRPG released this year that 'fail'ed 'com'pletely.

This isn't about the USA vs Rest of the World, its about money. GOA were cheaper than setting up a Mythic Europe office. In the end it will cost them a lot in cancelled subscriptions. Maybe if Mythic release a third major MMO they will have learnt the lesson.

Be paid for Beta Testing, don't pay to Beta Test.

Right.  And people like you will plunk down hard earned $$ on a game that isnt finished yet. Which makes you an enabler to unaceptable business practices that seem to be the norm in the mmo market. This game will release on the 18th.  Its 1/2 a game to start wirth. Classes are repeats of other classes. I mean change the icon.....rename the ability...its the same damn ability..not just some abilities, the entire class/tree. They created mirror immages of classes to make it look like thers more there than there is. Im sorry if i bash the game before its released.  I KNOW there is now way to make this a presentable finished product by the 18th.  And im angry because it has so much potential. They need to push back release...go back to closed beta and make it work. But they wont..and you all will buy it anyways in hopes that eventually they will work out the kinks.

I agree, no one gets that point either. it's liek if they complain enough they will have people join them and together they will own the company and say whats what without paying any money at all....  And it's like the people who disagree with OP actually want him to play. Just ignore 'em, don't try judging him wrong and make him play. We don't need anybody playing and saying zomg this game sucks. Then delete that char and become the biggest fanboi ever.

but ya. Also to add. It's funny also, there's a thread called WAR has failed and WAR will fail.....hmm...maybe this guy is a gypsy

  • ChannceChannce Member CommonPosts: 570

lol, do you think anyone ever listens to the OP?

Obviously, 12pages of people complaining sure got someones attention :p but ya.....it's like the fanbois are flamers themselves, I'm no fanboi but I love this game. And like I said, fanbois are basically flamers/haters themselves....which screws up every game... Shame, awhile back people took games for granted, now all the 12yr olds expect everything from them.

But ya, like above me, lets jst let this thing bury :)

Sorry but I dissagree there mate, the IP is a British property and its main fan base is in Europe. The game may have been made in the US but its a much bigger deal over here than in the US. People in europe grew up with Warhammer and Warhammer 40k. The fan base over here with all Europeans combined is bigger than the US market. If it fails here it fails in the US, simple as that. With only prob half the subscriber base in the US if it dont take here then it fades away to be another almost WoW killer.

Personally I'm having a blast and think the game will be a big hit, no WoW killer but amongst the top 5 MMO's out there. Everyone needs to hope that the games launch over here goes well because there are a lot of Warhammer fans over here waiting to see how this pans out.

Random thought, though yes Games Workshop is based in the UK... you realize... us "stupid" americans have been playing just as long, and the manufacturing/production for most of the models comes out of Memphis here in the US... right?
