I really REALLY hope they don't do that. That would be cruel. I'd rather not know it's coming than have an "It's almost here" message, and then find out by almost they meant several weeks.

by far the best news i've heard all month. Now all I need is to share the experience with my friend so I can give him the 'i told you so' speech about how little this game is different from other MMORPG's currently on the market. But hey, at least how good of a game WoW is, is debatable. Cant say the same for EQ2.

You may not like it, but he's 100% right. There are some pretty major issues with server crashes {I'm talking every 5 minutes for the last several days} and bugged quests since the last patch. Fishing has been completely obliterated. There's bugs in the new loot system. It is simply not ready for open yet. Judging by the stress test, it certainly looked ready, but a lot of things were *majorly* borked with the lastest patch.
And it should be noted that there's still going to be a wait before open starts. There's at least one more patch before open starts :
