There's only 11% who voted a 10, compared to 27% who voted a 1. How is that counter balancing anything? A five would be fair, hell thats what my rating on this site came out as, 5.6 to be exact. I have no problem with voting a one if that's how you feel about the game, but I knew people were doing it just for the reaction. This just shows how screwed everything is on this site, and why ratings mean nothing. To many people vote based on an agenda, that's not fair to those who seek reliable information in the slightest bit. You say you're here to inform people of the state of the game, yet admittedly give false information. You don't see the irony in that?
I think you take these forum polls a bit too seriously..

I gave it a 1 to balance out all the fanboy 10/10. Otherwise I would have given it a 5/10. AoC has some good things but if you look past the graphics, it's just a bugged, mediocre game that gets old really fast. In the bad shape it is now, I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.
You haven't played since august your opinion is no longer valid.
Its a 9 at the moment. And verging on a 10.. few more bugs to work out.. new content and original promises coming in...

Actually I played it day before yesterday with my friends account. There are some improvements, but nothing substantial. The game still sucks.
People need to realize that a change in MMO's don't come in one or two patches. You need months and months of coding and recoding to make make a real change. So don't wait for that miracle patch, it's not coming.

Are you saying the PvE, PvP, Crafting, Economy is near perfect and the game has no bugs or missing content?
AoC is worth no more than a 7/10 currently. And its definately not worth below a 5/10. I gave it a 6/10 which happens to be what the Eurogamer review gave.
Would of been nice for people to give marks based on reality rather than biased.
I'm going to give Guild Wars 2 solid 10/10 when it comes out. I know it will be worth it even though I haven't even seen it yet But I'm a GW fanboi so I probably lack the objectivity to give a fair review.
I actually went back to GW1 after I was disappointed with AoC and I'm loving it. I really believe GW has the best, most complex skill based pvp in any MMO today.
Why ? Becaus i like it, i have a very good time playing AOC.
I like the grafic, music, combat, the community, the mature content etc.
AOC is not perfect, it has its problems and stuff missing, but i think its still a very good and cool game, and you can definitely have a very good and fun time playing it !
Since lunch AOC has improved ALOT and it will improve way way more ! New stuff coming, new fixes etc.
I really have high hopes for the next big patch !
It will be a very big patch with ALOT of stuff
I play AOC with 4 irl friens and we have a very good time ! my friend jonas father even started playing AOC 3 weeks ago with 2 of his friends.
Well i really like AOC and hope more people will play it !
I recommend people to try AOC and see if you like it or not, but all i can say is that AOC is a very fun and cool game and it will improve alot
Hope to see you all in game !

I find it funny that 25% of 126 voters gave AoC 1/10 . Clearly it's not as bad as 1/10 but I think this shows how much people dislike FC and their business practices.
I gave it 6/10. I would have given it 5/10 if not for the quest with the cooked human head in the pot.

Yes, I'm sure that's the reason why most people said 1/10, just to see the results. Also I'm sure all of them were WAR fans who haven't even played the game. Because it just couldn't be that someone actually hated the game, now could it?
I give it 6/10. I would give it more if they made pvp meaningful.

No see I gave it a 1/10. Below is why.
I was playing LOTRO at the time that I heard that CONAN was about to launch. Being that LOTRO was damn family oriented and that you could be banned at the drop of a hat, or stalked by a creepy GM sending you whispers saying you borke the rules out of the blue, I was looking for something a little more ADULT oriented.
So I heard about Conan and this is what I did :
I built two brand new PC's to handle the VISTA ( CRAPPY ) OS so that I could run this game in DX10( A feature touted and promised since before launch that has yet to make it in the game today). That cost me about 2500$, maybe 2750 now that I think about my video card being upgraded, and some time. I then pre-ordered the game - 2 copies of the collectors edition - with tax and shipping that came to over 200$. 2 (6) months subscriptions that ran almost 160$ total with tax and all that.
When the game arrived we were under the impression that we were assured access to the preview. I logged on and registered my account on a tuesday and was able to download the client which took about 39 hours to download, even though I pay for 8mbs and can download even free games like ryzom at about 1MB/sec. My housemate didnt have time to register her copy until thursday and so found herself locked out of the preview access, something that was not explained to anyone clearly as being a possibility.
Then when that ended we were in the game and playing. We had CTD,OOM, instancing problems, grouping issues, sound issues etc etc etc..... Shortly after she began playing, my housemate began to notice that her dps as a female assasin sucked. She went to the forums and began to ask questions about the attack speed issue. When she asked questions, she was openly flamed by fanbois and then when attempting to respond to these people telling her she couldnt play her class etc, a fanboi moderator came around and aggreed with the fanbois and sanctioned her account.
As we progressed through the game she continued to post about this issue only to have her posts closed just after 18 fanbois jumped in to insult her and call her crazy at one point. Now in August they finally admitted they had a problem and that it would take a long time to fix.
Add in the nightly 17 crash to desktop, the refusal of FUNCOM to admit that there was a MEMORY error and their intentional unleashing of fanbois on the forums to silence people bringing to light VERY REAL issues with the game, we decided to leave game....
So if I post here or anywhere else and I dont sound happy, maybe this explains SOME of what we went through with this game. PROBLEM ARISES : POST : Ignored delete or denied. POST AGAIN : BANNED. Come back to the forums a month later: Funcom has finally admitted you were right all along but will only say a fix is COMING somewhere down the road.
The PVP patch was promised in June and delivered in the latter half of september and that was only HALF of a hastily assembled system, the other half IS NOT IN THE GAME YET. This game was marketed as a GROUNDBREAKING PVP Experience at launch!!! What doesnt anyone understand about people being pissed at Funcom? Ive read other people posting almost identical situations and they too have every right to be pissed.
I might add that this is ONLY THE VERY SURFACE of the issues I had with this company.

Possible but not probable. I give it 10/10. Best game I have tried since lost planet on Xbox 360.

You can't really blame this on anyone though, you made that decision. I spent 50$ to play AOC in it's first month played a little over actually and quit just into my second (that's when I started falling through terrain a lot). A month later while playing eve, my gfx card fried. I figured what the heck build a new PC, did so. Got the parts a few days later in the mail.
Figured I'd give AOC another shot at least to see the gfx in action this time. To my surprise the game was actually pretty stable.Running at 50-70+ fps. Looked great as well, played from that point until last month with hardly any issues , that's when I decided it was best to wait for merges or free transfers.
I still have a decent rig now to play what ever comes along at least for a while, Far cry 2 seems interesting as an example. So I can't really see why you'd be upset you bought a new PC, no reason to purchase a PC for one game. I'm sure you'll put it to good use.
On a side note were you dissappointed in the Dx10 features in lotro as well? Considering you played it after purchasing a new PC.

Sure he can blame them. He made that decision based on what FC promised would be in the game. I would be pissed too.
FC knowingly held back information that the DX10 would not be in launch just to get more boxes sold. I believe they made official announcement about this 2 days before the launch. It was like: " bla bla bla-- oh yeah and DX10 won't be in launch". I mean wtf?
I know a lot of people who bought a new PC just for AoC and DX10. I was going to do that myself but thatnk God I didn't. I saved a lot of money since I don't need a better comp for anything other than Vista and DX10.
Of course people can blame FC. They trusted FC and FC lied to their face. If you guys really think DX10 was even CLOSE of being ready, then why haven't they implemented it yet?

What ever happened to self responsibility? You may have bought a pc because you wanted pretty graphics, but to imply someone forced you to go out and do so is ridiculous. Sorry no one but yourself is to blame for actions like that, you act as though you need dx10 to play the game, it's not a requirement.
You buy a new PC because you want a new PC, not because you want a video game. Buying two PC's on top of two CE's and 6 month subscriptions sorry those are luxuries. You make that call no one else is responsible for it.
Take responsibility for your own actions, the bad man didn't make you do it.

You're right that it was his choice to upgrade/build his systems to play Age of Conan. I think however Lumache's post focuses more around having built those system in response to the expectation set from Funcom; which came on May 19th if I remember correctly at the bottom of their press release.
If you weren't heavily vested in the day to day internal updates/information; and in the know, you'd have run of the information provided to you as did much of the public. You'd have found out right before the game launched a few days later, and I think for many; that really was sore point when they'd built around what they perceived to be reliable information at the time.
Their argument stands in my view. This type of enhancement is not something easily done in single player games, and especially so in MMO's. LOTRO had issues with it when they first implemented it; and many developers are still a little gun shy of DX10 in their games. It's something you know and have communicated early on, and coordinate its release very carefully. At the time of the press release, they already knew they were unveiling at Leipzig; so it's clear it wasn't a last minute decision.
As to whether this was shady or intentional, I can't really speak to; but I can understand where Lumache and others come from if this was their expectation based on the most current information they had available to them/friends/retail at the time.

Maybe you're right, It's just in my upbringing to feel that way I guess. I'd get swift kick in the ass for making that kind of statement, even at this age. I just can't seem to find the reasoning behind such a claim. I understand if he's feeling let down, felt he wasted money over nothing etc... but saying they're responsible is a tad different in my book. Responsible for the state of their product, yes of course. Responsible for him spending so much money? Not so much, IMO of course.
Spending thousands of dollars just for a game is beyond the necassary means of having an enjoyable experience, I view it as a luxury to even be able to afford such frivolous activities.
Everything else in his post has a legitimate gripe IMO. Which they are responsible for, and deserve every bit of angst they receive over it. In this case alone, again IMO no one else is responsible but him.

Rated it 3. I could have rated it 1 cos of the lies and the support, but I think the game has elements that makes it fun for a small while. However the game is build on a bad soil, and can not ever get 7-10 score. It might get 6 if they fix everything and add stuff and fix support.
funny i see nothing but rants raves how you hate but what ever you all are playing now must not be to good cause your HERE typing about game you dont play or if you do shouldnt Warhammer is -----------> good ridderns this game has so much potentale but kinds and nowdays have patents of of a firecracker if any thoguht back far enough funcom launched AO harrible launch same thing thye seem have rough starts but things even out and ill be laughing when you all are coming back from wow clones to your lvl 40's in a few months.

I think it show the same as any other poll, that people want to see the results and just answer what ever (certainly 1 if you are a WAR fan and have not even tested the game ).
