A lot of games have a lot of push backs, better pushed back then released total trash.
yea anyone with half a brain would agree with you.
I made a thread not too long ago about this.
Funny how trolls bash DF for pushing things back but also bash companies for releasing too early. Add that to the irony that they call them amateur developers because its their first mmo...but then dont cut them slack because of delays.

Most of us skeptics aren't all that concerned if DF has to push back and release at a later date.
What we are constantly emphasising though is that very possibility. It's the ardent supporters that are continually saying that Tasos "promised" this and Tasos said that. Those are the ones that are guaranteeing it will release in 2008... NOT the skeptics.
We are the ones saying that the evidence supports it being pushed back.... again.
Nice way to try and dump the guarantees of the faithful off on us though.

I am a skeptic but still think the game will likely release in 2008. I dont think there is any way it will be thoroughly tested, but I think it will release. You just dont give out a hard date for the end of beta, nor do you commit to releasing within the year without a good reason, especially with Aventurine's track record. I tend to think that reason is a "management decision". 6 weeks or less to find out!
No evidence of beta, fake game, move along... nothing to see here.
However... doesn't that make all the previos times they didn't deliver kinda pointless then? Why push it back again and again starting back in 2003... and then still release an unfinished product? That would expose them for lying; as they have said many, many times that it is feature complete.
I agree with you though. They may have backed themselves into a corner and not have a choice this time if they want to save face.
That being said, I still think that it would be an easier thing to recover from with pushing it back yet again, and missing the 2008 deadline. Sure they will have a bit of egg on their face for missing the "guaranteed" 2008 deadline, but they could still maintain their "we'll release it when it's ready" legacy.
If they do release and it's not feature complete and in a very stable condition (as Tasos has been promising for quite some time now); they will not be able to recover from that. They have staked their reputation on NOT releasing the game until it is ready. If they go back on that now... it will be a very quick ride.

until i am actually playing this 'great game' i shall retain my view that it is infact a poorly made/implemented game
MMO wish list:
-Changeable worlds
-Solid non level based game
-Sharks with lasers attached to their heads
checking my mail again for beta invite.....
And it was subsequently proven to be a fake. Background. Another poster posted an image of a game from which the bow was taken.
I am a skeptical supporter of DF. I am not a fanboi nor a troll. I seek the truth in every discussion, and I am truly sorry if I mistakenly state a fallacy.
