Funny I thought numerous people bailed on Shadowbane thanks to the poor coding of the game which fell victim to numerous server hacks, bugs, and exploits...I mean I remember people talking about 1 time in particular when all of a sudden the NPC's starting to attack and ganking everyone everywhere. As for the game being good I would hardly call it that, I mean if 80's graphics and poor game play and a gank fest is good to you then I guess so then...

WOW is fine if you ask me and as people have said before the lvling has been artificially increased for testing purposes.

You spread to an area, and you multiply, and you multiply, until every natural resource is consumed. The only way you can survive is to spread to another area. There is another organism on this planet that follows the same pattern. Do you know what it is? A virus. Human beings are a disease, a cancer of this planet.-Mr.Smith

I still follow horizons ( yeah I know the game is a lost cause, but I had hope).  Once Tazoon cracked down on what could be posted a few players from Horizons formed thier own board.  I look at that just to keep up with what is happening in the game.  Thier link is

I found a post talking about WOW players which had the previous link on it.

At one time our small guild was going to WOW.  After time we realized it just wasnt the game for us.  We are powergamers and like to put in alot of time.  Hitting max lvl to partake in the zerg (aka pvp) just didnt appeal to us.  We did get a good laugh out of that link, even though we decided by then to go to EQ2.

I still think the best idea would to make a server where leveling is about 2x harder. Problem solved. Maybe this server would award more epic items and such to balance it out

This is an alternative to the alternate server:

The game I've been playing for about 3 years now(I'm only 67:241 but I spent about 2 years at lvl 60 just enjoying the simple life), Materia Magica, imho has one of the best leveling curves/max levels I've ever seen.

You get a choice between 4 fighter classes, 4 mage classes, 3 cleric classes, and 2 thief classes.

When you get to class lvl 60 you get to chose a new class from one of the other types. (class level:total level)
This carries on untill lvl 240 when you become a "hero" (4 classes, one of each type) in which you may then undergo an epic quest to become an archon(lvl 241).
Archons start at level 60:241, and can climb up to 241:241. The game has been going strong for about 6+ years and I belive the highest archon is about 241:138. (keep in mind archon level are little more then bragging rights and all archons are pretty much equal.)

But the point I'm trying to make is IF there are hero classes, can they make it near-impossible to make it to the absolute final level. That way the grinders are happy forever, and when someone finnaly makes it to the final hero level, he is legendary, instead of one of 50 other people at the max level aswell. And keep in mind a high-level hero shouldn't be all powerfull over low-level heros.

I know alot of people are going to disagree with this, but the mian thing to keep in mind is "High-level heros wont have too much more of an advantage over lower-level heros"

    Commence flaming...

there's a difference between making leveling harder, and making level take longer!  Noone wants it to take longer (I presume) but who would want it to be harder (/me raises hand)

Leveling is actually fine in beta.

Regardless of the speed, there will always be those that play more frequently than others.

So the point that leveling is too fast is nonsense I think.

Though I dont have statistics, Blizzard will need to balance leveling speed against their intentions for new content additions for greater levels (expansions) and the timing of the expansions.

Keep in mind also that with any game that employs PvP (which I agree with) leveling and how different level ranges can interact and get engaged is very important. . .there is more to game-play with WoW than a number and that is another reason why WoW has more going for it than other mmorpgs imho.

Yes but to make leveling harder would either:

    1) Make leveling LONGER.

    2) Require a major revamp of the whole system, something Blizzard isn't going to do at this point.
