NDA Dropping and Open Beta start
Well I'm pretty skeptical about this game. It promisses a lot and is gonna try to be a Quake MMO for hard core PvP. Based on recent releases of games that have disappointed I'm seeing a common tactic in games.
No open beta and no NDA dropping till the day the game is released or an Open beta that is very controlled and limited.
So from the people in the know, when does the NDA drop and When is open beta? I did some searching on the net and couldn't find a lot of beta leaked info which makes me concerned that the game is running a pretty small closed beta. Another area for concern.

There is a good chance there won't be an open beta. They are confident that they have fully tested the game and that open beta is unecessary. The only reason that there is the closed beta in the first place is to test different hardware specs utilized by gamers.

They have been evasively dropping bread crumbs and dangling carrots in front of everyone since about October.
Don't be terrorized! You're more likely to die of a car accident, drowning, fire, or murder! More people die every year from prescription drugs than terrorism LOL!

Running virtual testers is by no means a TEST. There are millions of different scenarios possible. You can't stress test with AI. Generally, open beta will act as a stress test and program interaction test. This has yet to be performed (the only way to test to see if your program will run 10,000 users, is to have 10,000 users access it.)

I would just called Tasos' GF or cousin or best friend or neighbour or even the "Hall 2000" as they are the ONLY ones currently testing the game, so besides "srcipted" previews from the "Inn crowd" you won't find anyting new except delay and delay and delay and yet another delay and so on...............I will believe it when I see it.................
Its worse to actually think about doing something then actually doing it!!!

Nice, way to go back on what you said with a little edit and double talk. You and Tasos would be great pals. Perhaps if you get in good, he'll trust you enough to let you release ahalf assed review that doesnt really tell us anything.
No AI in the world will find the exploits, bugs, or anything like confusion in text or usability of systems. None. You can only get that with thousands of players trying to find anything wrong, by intention or accident.
The only thing AI could potential do is stress connections and server load, this is not what an open beta is for, and open beta, or a beta for that matter is for what I said into he first line.
I have no faith this game will be any sort of ready for the real world live situation other than the severs may not crash.
They have essentially created this game in a vacuum.

Doesn't stop the fact that your argument just got steam rolled? And wave your release '08 flag all you want, but your grasping for straws if you're saying delaying the game a month is a cut feature. Not to mention, only about 30% of the community (based on the forum poll) believed it would release in 08

they are going to let you do a trial before you buy the game. so trolls, calm the fuck out on the responses.
there's no profit in lying about a game, then letting someone have a trial run before purchasing it.

It's funny how all these failgamers from the war and aoc boards suddenly know so much about how to make a good game. They must have had some kind relevation, shame they didn't have it a few months earlier.
Darkfall's friends and family Alpha testing plods on past the early December mark where the open beta testing was supposed to end. Their pushback of the release date to January 2009 and change to a limited europe-only release with no information at all forthcoming about actually having an open beta or information regarding distribution is just more anti-hype making gamers even more wary of this shady development.
