I would. I was financially ignorant for buying the PotBS Box, Tabula Rasa Box, AoC Box based on their false promotions. Those afformentioned games turned out to be nothing more than re-skinned PvE centric games with very poorly integrated player influence. With all the game-play information out on DF, and there is tons of it. . .this game is shaping up to be that player-driven centric and influenced mmorpg that I'd been hoping for for the past 10 years or so.
So, yea...I'd pay to pre-order and get an opportunity to participate sooner than later, and if it turns out to be crappy...I'll say the same thing about it that I say about WoW, WAR, AoC, PotBS, LotRO....they are nothing more than overly-hyped single-player rpgs that are developer, npc, and computer-code PvE driven where the content you pay for is nothing more than being able to play cooperatively against the machine with more than 8-16 players at a time.
The publishing is done by another company called Visual Enterprises SA. I think you know this.

darkfall is a non-factor atm, unless you have no life and nothing to do but sit inside their forums day in and day out waiting for scraps. it will open eventually ( i beleive 2/25/09 ) and ppl will subscribe ( like me, because i do have money and would like to see what they have or have not succeeded in ), but their 9 year evolution will be their downfall. i give darkfall 4-6 months, after release, then most will move to another sandbox game like mortal or what have you. i give credit to aventurines attempt, but they have failed in making their real pvp followers happy. unless darkfall has so much to offer in order to keep the base in game, most will move on soon after release, when other pvp games emerge.
go darkfall, please succeed. you have enriched the nich that is the pvp crowd. too bad it was way too late for yourselves to benefit long term.

LOL I'm just gonna say the same thing I've been saying about Darkfall since about a year or so ago now:
1) I would love to see it come out and be awesome. I've been dying for a really good skill based fantasy MMORPG for years. Right now the only one is UO.
2) While 1 above is entirely true... I'll believe Darkfall is a real game when it releases. It's got very little to do with this delay, which is pretty benign as far as delays go... It has everything to do with Adventurine's track record (or lack thereof)
Oh.. and my new add-on since they're now talking pre-order: They can dream on. There is no bloody way I'd pre-order this game. Free trial or free play period before purchase is the only way they're getting my money.

Wrong wrong wrong MMO PVP'ers are not a 'niche by any stretch. Most MMO's have a very sizeable PVP community. WoW, for example, has a huge PVP community (and I don't even like WoW). EVE Online has over 200,000 players and the game is 100% based on PVP. That's not a 'niche' anymore. That's mainstream.
Yes there are fewer PVP'ers than PVE'ers in most MMORPG's but you can't really call them a 'niche' so much as a 'smaller playerbase'. A "niche" is a couple thousand players tops. Pretty much a proven fact that there are a lot more than that.
I won't even go into how many people play Guild Wars, which is another PVP oriented game with a semi-decent PVE system tacked on.

Heck yeas! Live on old man. The main thing I liked about this game was no lvls. One of the major things I liked about SWG. As i have gotten older and have a great job, obviously I have less and less time to play. Though the kid in me lingers daily, so I must feed this hunger. However, the problem for me was that most MMO's now have these lvl caps and gear essential instances. I don't have the anymore to spend 20-40 hrs a week in some raid. At least with this game, I can go hang out with friends and not worry about lvls. Just like in SWG pre-cu I could run around with a pack of dudes hunting shit and still work on my skillz, even thought I know I couldn't kill the beasts.
