I tend not to understand the people most of the time... what incentive is there for the devs to improve the game alot mroe before the release if +90% (as claimed) will preorder before ven trying out the game?
It's prectically a "carde blanche" for the devs to do whatever they want, however they want, for as long as they want it. Whether they want the beta to be released openly or not, whether they will postpone the release date or not, whether they will be satisifed with the game features as they are or not...etc etc.
At the next dev meeting they hold, someone will say: "Hey guys, i have this new feature that my kid told me about, its about..." when another dev jumps in and interrupts him "dont worry about, we've already met our preorder quota. Save it for the expansion".
Ah it was supposed to come not as a rant, but as something more constructive. Nonetheless.. soz.

People that made their vote in that poll had played the game and were so satified with their ingame experience they decided they will indeed pre order the game.
Looks like after a brief hiatus Aragon really is going down with the ship on this one, I salute you sir!
90% of Tasos's friends and supporters in Beta polled say they will pre order Darkfall, no surprise really considering 90% of Tasos's friends and supporters have been telling us how awesome, revolutionary and wonderful Darkfall is for years, and how awesome, revolutionary and wonderfall Darkfall beta is.
Well that's a definitive end to the debate and the only reassurance I need, where or when can I pre order too?
Interesting to see the return of some people after Tasos's complete U-turn on his entire self professed development and testing philosophy.
Not to mention an end to 6 years of his lies and the revelation (to some) that Aventurine have a real stinker they want to dump in a month after taking preorders.
I can only envy the amount of cognitive dissonance some people must be experiencing.
I'm eagerly anticipating your next zinger that will conclusively disprove all the troll haters and their erroneous skepticism once and for all.
Its not the numbers. Its the % that is interesting here my friend.
Yes, and 90% of the people tested = 290 which isn't really all that interesting.
I know you don't listen to any opinion that isn't filtered through rose colored glasses, but I think that this thread is a bit wacky. I mean the poll CLEARLY says 290 where the 90% bar is, meaning that 90% of the testers polled is equal to 290 people. 290 people is a REALLY low number.
Think of it this way if their closed beta is currently hosting 10k players (which is kinda lowish even for a closed beta) then 290 is actually 2.9% of the beta. Now, of course I'm not pretending to know for sure that there are 10k testers, thats just a guess.
290 people out of 323 is actually a really high number.
So what this poll inform us is that the game is really good and 90% of the ones that actually tried it out will pre order it.
That is an amazingly high number.
Seems DF is a smashing hit.
Um what this poll tells me is they only have maybe 500 POSSIBLY testing their game.
With a release date less than a month away. For a game that is suppose to house 10k players a server.
So we got 323 players who took the time to go vote, which I would wager is prolly close to all that is really testing.
AND
We got 290 of those that said they would pre-order....
hmmmm, fail.
Please stop making up numbers of beta testers you have no clue of.
Lets stick to what this thread is about.
90% of the testers will pre order the game.
Thats amazingly high if you ask me.
No, 90% of the testers who VOTED will pre-order the game. And 323 ( 290 saying yes ) total votes out of 1000k plus testers ( Gianna the shill claims they have over 1500 testers now as of TheNoob number 8 ) means over 3/4 of the testers couldn't be bothered to vote. So, really, where do you come up with this crap? Noone can really be that blind.

Keep in mind the game is in beta, the beta testers so far isn't doing stress tests, but still testing the actual game. Things can change 100% when the game launches, once you fill up a server the server can see all kind of problems a small amount of beta testers never saw. So far the praise for DF seems to be extremely high, if we should trust all the testers that praise the game this game is super awesome. That makes me suspicious, and a few of the beta leaks I have seen does raise the alarm in my head. Some are constructive and can see both good and bad sides, others do noting but praise the game. Who would you trust to be most accurate?
It's kind of like the hype that Funcom did with AoC, except here you have players that seems to be hardcore fanbois of DF praising the game, Adventurine posting quotes from the forums that are only positive as a beta testers review.
Time will tell if DF succeeds or not, I know personally that I won't be buying the game straight away. Did that with AoC so I will prefer to wait a bit now and see how things settles in the world of DF.

Tasos probably has about 300 friends and family in the beta . So 90% of Tasos's friends and family will preorder the game. That doesn't tell us anything
It tells us plenty. It tells us that of the 300 or so friends and family of the developers (who make up the vast majority of the Beta testing team, it seems), there are still 10% who refuse to help out their nearest and dearest by preordering. That's a pretty sad indictment of the state of the game really... hell, if one of my friends or family was developing a game I'd be preordering it without question, without even having seen it.
Sorry AragonkoffTasoskoff, but your dubious statistics have only made me feel sadder about Darkfall than ever before. And we still don't know if the thing will ever actually release, or whether it will mercifully sink back below the waves of mediocrity and ineptitude from whence it came, unable to adapt from its primitive state.
Aventurine have lifted my NDA obligations to allow me to post screenshots and comments as a preview of the game. I've been playing in beta for the last couple of weeks. This NDA lift is limited exclusively to what is posted here and I cannot otherwise give additional information, discuss the game, etc. etc.
- Don't email me with questions, requests or comments - I can't answer (NDA, my mom saying that I shouldn't talk to strangers, etc.).
- I haven't followed the evolution of the game before beta, so don't expect any deep insight. The skinny goth dudes are called Alfar and I'm catching up on the rest.
- I've been a good friend of Claus and Tasos for many years and we've often played MMOs together in the past.
- They've hosted The Noob since 2005, which is great or I'd have to sell my furniture to pay for bandwidth. I've reciprocated the favour by asking them "wtf, when's beta starting?" no more than twice a week for the last nine years. "

Everyone knows this. This has nothing to do with a forum post open to all beta testers which is a poll where the vast majority are going to preorder, or buy the boxed version.
As far as her report if you follow leaks at all almost everything she said was already talked about by numerous leakers prior, and they had the same general excitement.
This whole thread is ridiculous with conspiracy theories, assumptions, etc. Just take it for what it is: a forum poll. They are not usually that accurate, and how many people would still be on the forums if they hated the game. I am sure they would have probably stopped playing and going to the forums. So there you guys win. It is a conspiracy. No one actually likes Darkfall. None of the majority of leakers who have said they would preorder are real. Everyone hates the game. Now can we move along and find the next game to hate?

Cool. Now that this is all over, can we have pie?
I like pie.
MMmmmm the choices are the killer. Fudgey pie, apple pie, cheesey pie, egg and sausage pie, chicken pot pie. I could have pondered them since 2001 when DF started and still be deciding today.

lol, youve REALLY got your blinders on dont you, this VOLUNTARY incomplete polling of the "beta testers" is hardly even a viable standard in terms of real world statistics. Stop the flameing fanboyism and save your energy for when you need ot defend the games crippleing launch, just like that of every other mmo launch in recent memory.
"Well let me just quote the late-great Colonel Sanders, who said…’I’m too drunk to taste this chicken." - Ricky Bobby
I am more curious as to way nine of the beta tester said that the game was horrible. To have an opinion about a game that you are testing and come out of it with total distaste worries me. Moreover, in previous beta that I have participated, the forums were always skewed in light of the game and I suspect that people who are on the forums are on them because they enjoy the testing process and the community that they have. Not to mention there is difference between beta and released communities.
Probably the answer why only 323 of the claimed 1500 testers voted, is that the rest stay online and play the game. If Tasos has 323 friends (as claimed above), and the others have 323 friends too each, then they can fill up few servers, and be happy.
I do have few hundred that we will get the game, no matter what. We are waiting for 8 years after all. (and Dragon Empires flopped one day before release arghhh).
What's the problem after that? Nobody ask you to buy the game either. No marketing, PR or mass emailing to the forum subscribers either.
Few posts from a blogger and here-and-there an interview.
DF targets a specific category of players after all. The hard core UOers, 30+ age, who haven't played an MMO since EA broke UO (nearly a decade), because the rest of the market is completely shite. EVE is an exception, when they get rid the Empire first.
It's matter of opinion, we do have freedom of speech, so.......
What an absolutely ludicrous thread, especially since the game is still in closed beta under an NDA. You can't survey the beta testers because they are not allowed to talk about the game.
Next time just think a second before starting a thread that even you know is way out there in nether nether land.
That's the problem though, this guy doesn't know that that poll is totally and completely irrelevant, he really thinks b/c 90% of the totally random sampling of people that took the poll voted "yes", that means that 90% of testers are going to buy the game. Forget the fact that any joker could log into that poll, which btw is hosted by Aventurine so mostly only people that are fans of the game and enjoying it are going to find it, and that people that don't enjoy the game aren't going to go looking for some silly poll on the DF site to say "no, I'm not going to buy".
The fact is, that poll is totally skewed, and in no way can possibly represent a fair sampling of the people that actually tested the game. The MOST that poll says is that 90% of the jokers that bothered to respond said that they would buy the game. It doesn't mean 90% of testers will be buying, or anything else really. The ONLY reliable way to get an accurate sampling of how the testers are feeling would be for Aventurine to force exit-polls when people log out of the game, and then give us those numbers...which we know will never happen.
Read the thread name and then read the question in that poll that lead to the 90 % answer rate.
Its all logic and you're wrong.
Only beta testers could enter this poll since the ones that isnt in beta cant enter beta theads.
Not your day is it?
Yeah, ok. So only testers could vote in this poll. The rest of my statement still stands, logic is not your friend, especially when you make a thread like this and try to say that the game "rocks" b/c 90% of the testers that responded to this silly poll said the game "rocks" and that they will be pre-ordering. The fact is that 323 is a TINY sampling of people, especially when we don't know how many people are in the beta. But we can assume that it's a small number based on the facts available to us, and the reality is that most likely the large majority of the people that are in beta AND responded to this poll are either friends and family or the hardest of the hardcore fanboys.
The bottom line is that this poll is completely irrelevant and doesn't prove a damned thing, least of all that the game is decent, and the poll in no way shows that 90% of beta testers are going to pre-order/buy the game. ALL it means is that 90% of the 323 testers (a TINY number) said that the game "rocks", and they'll be pre-ordering. Your "logic" is highly flawed.

3° and you say this has nothing to do with the subject
Many leaks, specially during this "closed-beta-trial-whatever" period. These "leaks" were promising. But same leakers started to say "dont pre-order" ( which were having fun a lot and posting positive leaks ).
Negative impressions from "leakers" rising somehow !
If these "leaks" are real, then no frackin "beta tester" will pre order. "Leaks" and "Leakers" is not my problem at all. I don't give a damn.
At that point, which I may be wrong ( because of leakers ??? ) , I will not pre-order nor even try it until I see some "First impression" thread/news made by mmorpg.com or another thrustable site.
I always wanted DF to succeed. I will return to my old MMO as soon as possible ( won't tell you which MMO, cause you'll address me as a trooll ). I lost faith on DF. Beta testers too, maybe not all of them, who knows. I see disabled/unaccessable DF forums on some guilds web sites. I'm just sorry for the community ( and me ) about another heart-breaking failure that about to come.
PS: English is not my main, sorry if I failed to .... whatever

I like pie.
Cool. Now that this is all over, can we have pie?
I like pie.
MMmmmm the choices are the killer. Fudgey pie, apple pie, cheesey pie, egg and sausage pie, chicken pot pie. I could have pondered them since 2001 when DF started and still be deciding today.
290 ppl = "really high number"?? really?
Its not the numbers. Its the % that is interesting here my friend.
What about this one, then?
Wil you preorder this game?
Yes
27.6%
No
72.4%
Based on 163 votes.

Obviously because mmorpg.com is a cesspool of irrational "haters" and "trolls" whereas the official forum is a beacon of unbiased integrity.
Thnx for the lolz jy88902
To the OP of the thread:
were do u guys get those pic from?
290 ppl = "really high number"?? really?
Its not the numbers. Its the % that is interesting here my friend.
Thats amazingly high if you ask me.
lol, youve REALLY got your blinders on dont you, this VOLUNTARY incomplete polling of the "beta testers" is hardly even a viable standard in terms of real world statistics. Stop the flameing fanboyism and save your energy for when you need ot defend the games crippleing launch, just like that of every other mmo launch in recent memory.
You're kidding, right? Judging by the way the choices are written, that looks like a fan poll, not an official one by Aventurine.
Self-selection bias. Learn it, understand it, realize why it completely invalidates your thread.
90 % thats a lie
darkfall will fall before comes out
i will not try this game at all
So WTF are you doing here?

1° subject THREAD
Thats a really high number if you ask me.

2° FACTS
paste/copy from betanoobcomic: "Darkfall preview - Introduction
3° and you say this has nothing to do with the subject
paste copy LOLCAT etc etc etc
Whoever coined the phrase "buyer beware" must have been bleeding from the ass hole.
The evidence is there, ladies and gentleman. There's little room for debate anymore.
PS: English is not my main, sorry if I failed to .... whatever
Apology accepted.
