Did anyone else catch the OP say that his GUILD actually considers jumping in front of someone an ACTUAL TACTIC. I must say your guild is a bunch of Douchebags if all day they devise a strategy run into another person's sword just so you can kill them without having the penalty.
That my friend is something that you and your guild should look at and say
"Wow, we really are just lowlife Pieces of Dung, who want to practice exploiting a flawed system. Then complain when the devs actually do something that will make tactics we have of douchebagging all of those around us obselete"
I am sorry, when I read that I could be battling someone else and someone can run right into my combat cone, take some damage and make me go grey, I was like, bye Darkfall. That is the stupidest thing I have ever heard of in a game.
Add into that the game is all about hitting someone from the back, because you cannot see behind you at all in this game, and I am like, why would I ever want to play this game.
Their are some things I like about this game, but this game looks like it will be a cess pool of a holes.

I am in beta and have pre-ordered Darkfall. Whats getting me is they put the pre-orders up then after everyone buys the game. They throw this patch out their completely changing some fundamentals of the game, wasting many hours of guilds teamwork working on tactics and formations to overcome the zergs. Now every yahoo can toggle on a visual and know exactly who to attack and who not to attack. Seriously WTF is this bs, now zerg guilds and arac guilds will have even more of an edge against smaller tatical guilds.

The rogue system wasn't broke at all, it rewarded players who paid attention and not the ones blindly auto attacking mobs while IM'n and watching youtube.

why is it that hardcore always has to be defined as "super-hardcore"? the first thing I do in game if someone boasts in chat about how they uber-pwn n00bs who can't play their class, I use /ignore. If I want to interact with stuck-up people who think they are better than others, I can go to work.
When it comes to darkfall, It is not the carebears that turn me off from trying this game, it is the uber-wanna-bes that I can live without.
That means if you hit somone that jumped in front of you, you have to stay put and being beaten for 10 seconds to not be rogue for 2 minutes? And after the 10 seconds, the one that jumped you will turn grey and then you can attack him? But you will be lower in health and will die anyway. I don't see this is a solution.
I dont think this change actually "fix" anything, people will work around the system constantly.
Imagine this now: 5-6 "douchebags" (and there will be plenty of them in a FFA-PvP-with-full-loot-game) all shoot an arrow in the back of a poor sod whos trying to kill a goblin. Just one arrow each, then they take off for 10 seconds, and then repeat again.
Now how is this better than the old system? Its actually gotten worse, since they dont have to care about flagging their victim grey, they can just flag themselfs grey, for an outstanding 10 seconds...
The worst thing is that the devs doesnt seem to see this coming.

Currently if someone else loots the mob you just killed they dont get penalised for stealing, but if you attack them you go rogue. So you can't defend your hard earned loot without being penalised.

Hmm, good observation. Hadn't thought of it that way. Though it is a lot better than it was.
Previously to see an exploit of this system result in a kill you needed:
- 1 twat jumping infront of you
Now you need:
- Multiple twats having the patience to attack once in 10 seconds for a long time and since it takes quite a while to kill anyone and that person might have pots on him, it gets a lot more tedious and harder to do.

True, but at the same time, saying something to them or sacrificing some alignment works for me. And i hate mob tagging and a lot other people too i suppose. Alignment penalty for looting blues should be in though. (maybe with the exclusion of party members so that they can save your gear?)

Maybe you are the carebear afraid of fighting players without using a broken part of the game. Some of us play for the PvP part of Darkfall, not to exploit every flaws the game has. You will probably whine if they chose to make the UI, magic, siege and animation better...or more carebear as you would call it.
I agree, you're overreacting. The rogue system was seriopusly broken. People were constantly jumping in front of others to intercept their attack, that way they could kill and loot them with no penalty. That's not hardcare, is complete douchebaggery. The idea is that you're not supposed to kill your race without some penalty. If you exploit a game mechanic it doesn't add to the immersion and reality factor, it makes you a piece of garbage. Also, don't turn on the teammate visuals if you don't want them. It doesn't have to affect your precious fog of war. From the notes I've read I only want the game more. The devs seem to have a very good idea of how to correct the seemingly major issues of the game. It gives me more hope for the future of the game.

There has to be a willing intention to attack another in order to become a rogue, and if I am attacking a mob and you get in front of me so i accidentally hit you and become a rogue, that to me is a fucking exploit of the game mechanics.
Alignment Rogue handling has been tweaked: * If you have positive alignment and attack another player with positive alignment, you will go rogue for 10 seconds
* Every subsequent attack towards a good player while on the 10 second rogue mode will make you go rogue for at least 2 minutes
Carebears have already started their dumbing down of the rogue system.
Players in the same clan will now have a visual marker to identify each other. This can be toggled by /clan_toggle_display

Carebears don't know who to attack now have have nice shiney visual floatey's above their friendly's. Nice to have fog of the war thrown out of the game just before launch.
Next patch will probably remove friendly fire and add guard towers to all wilderness banks, and if were lucky we can get insurance's on all our gear so if we die we just lose some money.
If you had played the game you may have a clue but you don't , the rogue changes will be interesting and the starter areas it really effect constitute0.01% of the Game World at most.
The changes actually make it more hardcore as people will not get free kills you obviously don't understand this.... they can kill anytime but will have to take the hit. Thats if they really want shoddy goblin loot.

Hes a 29 year old adult using the word carebear.If thats not enough evidence to sway you into realising how much of a tool he is,then look at his 'tactic' of using an exploit to gain an advantage.
He doesnt want pvp,he wants a game where he can grief and gank to his hearts content to fill the empty void that is hie life.Hes probably one of those people who join friendly fire fps games and then shoots his teammates whilst calling them 'noob' or some other childlike insult and thinks hes really awesome doing it.
The rogue system overhaul is needed, and there should have been a few more changes done. However, I can agree with the OP on the Teamate issues. I think that probably was a bad decision to implement it that way.
