customer service should. It pertains to everything for the game. If the game launches poorly, lags, is missing features, etc. thats all customer service issues. along with last minute updates to the community, if im paying monthly all that should be top knotch. Im not saying DF has all those issues but it does have some. I love the idea of DF but i just dont see how this company has given any reason to pre-order it with everything thats happened thus far
The company has extremely limited resources with which to launch. The ideal situation is that they get enough pre-orders to allow them to purchase more equipment with which they can take even more pre-orders and buy more equipment, so on and so forth. It's not an uncommon business practice, especially for companies with situations such as Aventurines.

you make it sound like a pyramid scheme. those normally dont work out well
im not gonna call you fanbois cause im not trying to be mean, but after all the questionable history of this game and the disaster that is todays "launch" how can you honestly justify giving money to this company. good mmos focus on communicating with the customers which AV makes gautes funcom look great. Imagine how bad this company is gonna be at patching the game and delivering new content. if new content takes as long as the release its gonna be a couple years before that happens lol. I once was a fanbois of aoc preordered it stood up for it and then got screwed by it. I wont vouch for a game like that ever again and I hope no one else will. so many red flags with this game its not even funny, this game has tons of potential but sadly i dont see it reaching it until some company buys the IP and handles it correctly. we gamers deserve games to launch better. the trial run for launches is over and companies need to see that. Please tell me though how you can justify giving money to this company

Nah I was only relating it to darkfall because that was the topic on hand.
That does not say anything about the EU release -NOT- being a finished product. It says they are limiting pre-order access, which is a given, but this comment that the -REAL- game will only be launched when it comes to the US...that's news to me.

Like every mmo df will expand over time. Did daoc have . . well much of anything at launch? No housing, mounts, pvp serves, frontiers . .. .
Wow had no arena or battlegrounds. Probably not 90% of the stuff you guys are playing with now after several years.
War has been scaling up classes and those fake cities people play fight over right?
every mmo develops after release and maybe we are just missing something in the translation of that guys intent.

My mistake, I thought you were referring to the bit about a limited release.

and thus you and many others continue to pay for poor service from an unproven company with an unproven game. which continues to let companies think half ass releases are ok. its been the case for years and hasnt changed and has had many IPs with tons of potential never reach that i.e. AOC, VAN, WAR, to name a few

Nah, there's no need to take pot shots at Adventurine for that. It's called leverage. You need some investment to turn more profit. In this case, AV used up all their traditional investments, so they need to rely on their customer investments to build their infrastructure, so that they can get more customers. It will work just fine if they keep their initial customers happy and deliver a good product.
An online game I play - GoalLineBlitz.com - uses that formula, and it's working out just fine for them.

no. I just wont pay for anything that is very "hit or miss". I want solid proof that the game is worth my money. I want good communication about launch, pre-orders, where/ how to get the game, how the beta is going, solid beta reviews post nda ( which i have not scene one detailed review on the game, the one on mmorpg is alright but nothing close to that from regular beta testers). even then I still would probably wait until after launch since very few companies can get that right

I tihkn you need to find something better to do with your time until the day finally comes when you get what you want!

Simply put, I think AV has proven that they are exceptional game developers.
Only their business skills are pretty lacking, but this will be easily remedied once they start rolling in the cake because of the substantial hype this game is producing.
I've played a lot of MMOs, and when I watch videos of the gameplay (which I have spent probably over 2-3 hours doing now), I can tell it's going places.
While Darkfall may never appeal to a huge subscription base, it probably won't ever break more than 300,000 subscribers. But you know what? I have a feeling that there will definately be a solid baseline of players that will create a very niche and tight community for a long time.
This game was made for a certain crowd, and I think it's done very well to meet that crowd's standards + more!
im not gonna call you fanbois cause im not trying to be mean, but after all the questionable history of this game and the disaster that is todays "launch" how can you honestly justify giving money to this company. good mmos focus on communicating with the customers which AV makes gautes funcom look great. My expections are probbly lower for this game then any reccent MMORPG I have played. I have followed it for the past two years and pre-ordered for many reasons.
1. I am a fan of both MMOs and FPS. This game marks the first time of a true attempt at a hybrid. (games like Planet Side had sense of accoplishment or character development. It just lacked the rpg aspect).
2. I am pumped up for for a unique MMORPG. This game breaks free of standard game-play aspects that most games on the market follow. I know my experience playing the game will be unique and will not be a cookie cutter game, modeled off the success of EQ and WOW(I played both, enjoyed both, and ended up hatting and quitting both). I feel if nothing more I am funding a unique game and showing developers there is a market for outside of following the [ mimic * (EQ/wow) = success ]formula.
Unique aspects I look forward to playing
A. Death penalties: Death in RL=ultimate failure. Death should be avoided at all cost . This means penalties should be in place to ensure players fear death. This creates a sense of danger any time you travel alone outside of civilization.
B. No auto target: Auto targeting has certain aspects that i understand like being able to focus on strategy over twitch. But in the end just creates a mindless formula that allows one user to play 3 different accounts at once. The twitch game-style adds a level of chaos, that will result in unique battle experiences with too many factors to calculate. Players must react not only to other players an monsters, but chaotic aspects(environments, dodging, not being able to tab to closest enemy, and many more.)
C. Safe Zones: While there are guard towers in the game you can still atack any player, any alliance, any where, I hate game mechanics not allowing me to take a swing at anyone I chose. Players should be able to enforce justice in any way they see fit( knowing there may be sevre consiquences for their actions). This creates a true world experience.
D.Screw levels: A level 30 will almost never beat a lv 40. 5 level 20s will almost never beat a lv 40... (and so on and so on). I want a system based on skills, character development, and team work. not a level/gear dominated formula.
This are some of the main reasons why I am giving Darkfall a shot. You may agree or dissagree with me. In the end my money agrees with me. It is well worth my $50+ dollars to play this game for a month.

Nah I was only relating it to darkfall because that was the topic on hand.
i know. i said you make it sound like one. big dif

That does not say anything about the EU release -NOT- being a finished product. It says they are limiting pre-order access, which is a given, but this comment that the -REAL- game will only be launched when it comes to the US...that's news to me.
Edit: For spelling. It's late here!
Which Final Fantasy Character Are You?
Final Fantasy 7

My mistake. Friends?
Having played every MMO out there since day jot.... And having played the Beta.
There is you're answer the game is fantastic and has more in game features than people give it credit.
This game is a must for any serious MMO player. Simple as.
Aventurine is what makes the game ... not sure you would understand that.
Oh and call people what you like you coward oh i forgot you can't it's MMORPG.com ...
(Remember this is a limited release not the finished product which is why some of us love it, the real release starts with boxed versions and USA servers)
The red part...where does this come from? It#s the first I heard of it. Could you provide a link please?
Like every mmo df will expand over time. Did daoc have . . well much of anything at launch? No housing, mounts, pvp serves, frontiers . .. .
Wow had no arena or battlegrounds. Probably not 90% of the stuff you guys are playing with now after several years.
War has been scaling up classes and those fake cities people play fight over right?
every mmo develops after release and maybe we are just missing something in the translation of that guys intent.

My mistake, I thought you were referring to the bit about a limited release.
I rather think that's the point. People are interested in Darkfall because it promises something different on the things that actually matter. Gameplay, skill development, for some it's PvP. Compared to those sorts of things, customer service just doesn't rank very highly.
customer service should.
Then don't pre-order it and don't pay for it. Problem solved.
I, on the other hand, don't care much about customer service and thus have pre-ordered it. Everyone gets what they want.
and thus you and many others continue to pay for poor service from an unproven company with an unproven game. which continues to let companies think half ass releases are ok. its been the case for years and hasnt changed and has had many IPs with tons of potential never reach that i.e. AOC, VAN, WAR, to name a few

So then basically you're not paying for anything because everything is a failure and nothing has met your standards yet?
The company has extremely limited resources with which to launch. The ideal situation is that they get enough pre-orders to allow them to purchase more equipment with which they can take even more pre-orders and buy more equipment, so on and so forth. It's not an uncommon business practice, especially for companies with situations such as Aventurines.
you make it sound like a pyramid scheme. those normally dont work out well
Nah, there's no need to take pot shots at Adventurine for that.

It is well worth my $50+ dollars to play this game for a month.
im flaming mad and im not goning to take it!!!!!!
