Wow, just....wow.  I've played about every major MMO on the market.  I've suffered through the bad, the worse, and enjoyed much of the good in games both loved and hated by gamers all around.  I thought I had seen about everything, but this is the ONLY developer that I have EVER seen CONSISTENTLY not take responsibility for their own crap.

Blaming the customers for your inadequate billing department.  Amazing.  Maybe I have really FINALLY seen it "all."

I love how all the dolts come out and blame the poor people who couldnt get in the game.

a small percentage is less than 10% even if they processed 25% of the orders. keep in mind they said only a small percentage passed thru. They left out the huge bulk of people out of the game.

So are you gonna tell me its pure codincidence that over 4k players  fucked up their billing.

    wow.

I can go anywhere to buy somthing online and be done is a few min. Doesnt most proffesional website give you a, idont know somthing like a confirmation number that your card was processed?

id be scared if i dont get crap and suddenly my card is billed.

Im going to sell you a dream.

The accounts page and the load put on the accounts page was the fault. The zip/postcode entry on the DF account site was chopping off the 7th digit for those with a 7 digit ZIP/Post code when you put the info in and hit the update Profile and billing information. Now if you don't put the exact address that your credit card is under a typo can put a spanner in the work for the transaction.

Then there are those who are victims of the sites lag which caused them to enter their billing information twice, which caused the fraud alarm systems of their credit card company's to kick in. I guess this is what happens when parents give their credit cards to their teenage kids.

hehe thats sad to hear. pity AV doesnt take any shame and they quickly blame the consumer. after all they did have a flawless launch and one impecable billing service.

Im going to sell you a dream.

I think maybe AV should look into this brand spanking new, completely untested thing called Paypal? Heck, it just might work.

That's right pre-orders. This is your fault. You forgot how to spell your name, hell you probably forgot your name altogether. This doesn't even scratch the surface of you that

    1) Forgot your address or how to spell your street name correctly,

    2) Failed to get your zip codes correct, or

    3) for the love of get your credit card numbers in correct order.

This has nothing to do with our incompetence, or poor choice in choosing/testing a billing provider.

Well, to be completly honest and fair, Aventurine never said it was their fault or the users. They simply stated that information was incorrect. They never pointed out it was the users fault or the billing so its still in the air. Anyone saying they said are just pulling what they want to hear so they can have something to tackle and talk about i guess. I have noticed that yes, the billing system is funky. I had to unselect the united states to enter my state in on second attempt after misstyping the confirmation field (the little random letters/numbers thing so bots dont spam-create accounts). Still doesnt defeat the fact they never said it was our fault.

    My two cents.

  • AlmightyXAlmightyX Member UncommonPosts: 26

Well I entered my card details, but the shop has never been online for me to purchase. I keep apparently "missing" the short windows they opened them {and believe me I tried}.

Now they have taken down the forums just to use the bullentin board to provide updates. Right now that page is saying database error, rofl.

From what i've seen of the game it looks like alot of fun. But this epic failure of a launch is really turning me off, I might wait a few weeks to see if they get their shit together. The clan I joined went out to farm gold so they could register the clan, only to fall into a black hole with +1k gold and had to re-roll.

Might be worth waiting for a US server, if that ever happens.

I would wait for a while to get into the apparently skin-tight, seam-bursting jeans that they've started putting on. I'll enjoy the game when they finally open up purchases from the store. And by the way, they only opened up preorders for a short bit. (Which to me I found to be quite funny. I was F5'ing the accounts page waiting for preorders to open up on the 23rd i think it was and went to work only to find out when i got home they opened preorders 2 minutes after i left and closed them down about an hour before i got hime xD)

Or better.. someone pressed space and everything was moved one letter to the right, which made it completely unreadable and unprocessable!

Someone on the forums posted that the last time the store was open, was only like for 1/2hr and was alot earlier than the "noon" GMT they had stated. I feel stupid now for staying up late, noon their time was around 11pm for me. I kept checking every 10-30m until 1pm before i gave up. Only to find out it was probably opened sooner, while i was at work or something.

It is going to be fun when all subscribers are going to pay the 1st month of subscribe and when some/many of them are going to try to cancel their account and sub.

How can you cancel a sub if the account's webpage is always down ? You can't

How can you contact customer's service if the official forum is always down ? You can't

People are crazy to pay these guys. We're not talking about a solo game. When you buy a solo game, you pay the product 1 time.  When you pay for a MMORPG you take a sub. Take care.

I don't know if people are going to be overcharged but I'm sure it's gonna be hard to cancel a sub. That's why I WON'T take a sub to DFO.

Paypal could be a serious and perfect choice but IMO they can't because of Paypal fees... (Too expensive for them and it's not a joke)...

One last thing: their billing system is very "special" because, even if shop is closed, you can type your name, your phone N°, your adress AND your card N°. Another RED FLAG. Maybe the most important. I don't care buying a bad game but i care about my bank account. (LOL Full loot IRL? This is common sense.

That's exactly what happened when I tried to cancel my Horizons account (after two weeks). They kept billing my CC for another 4 months until I finally got a response from the CEO, who manually cancelled it and refunded me in full.

Still, it was a real pain in the ass.

    Hope DF is better!

Meanwhile back in Greece an archaeology team made an interesting discovery, the following picture had remained inanimate until recently and more precisely until one of the students( that had recently purchased the first Greek MMORPG after missing a series of classes and other social activities in order to get a chance to pre-order it via downloading )from the team read out loud the above statement to his fellow classmates at the dig site. Then  they all saw in awe the carving slowly moving from it's original posture until it took it's current form and to this day and hour still remains like this.

Darkfall folks are probably the most thin skinned ppl I know.  I hear more complaining, over analyzing, and otherwise foolishness.  If we could only harness this stupidity into 1 mass, I think we could solve world hunger.

Oh yes, we should all be placated fools that obey our corporate masters and give them money no matter what kind of lousy products they try to sell to us.

If we all did that, then we'd still be stuck in stone age.

What world are u living in?

This happens every single day, every passing minute.

Like someone said, Alone, the individual is smart, interesting, simple and elegant. Together with other people, they're stupid. Like a herd of cows.

The world revolves around ppl buying crap they dont need and big companies shoving it down their throat insisting that they do. Its all about money and the spending of it.

I know myself, will probably buy a copy and 1mth sub JUST to see if this game is any good. With no other mmo satisfying my thirst atm I think many of us need to at least see what they have to offer.

Then we can cancel if it doesnt suit us.

I find it funny how I was telling ppl to quit WAR in t2 before i finally quit before hitting lvl 30 even. Many stayed, some even had a few chars hit 40 before realising the truth. I guess some just cling too long. Of course we can only make that call after having played for a while. Currently its just too early to tell.

Oh Jesus H Christ. Lighten up guys. Darkfall is a PvP game. Tasos is just out to peer kill us; it's a legitimate game tactic. Darkfall is full loot. FULL. He's just looting your playing ability. Seriously. Bunch o' carebears...

That said... I haven't had a single problem. Not one. lol

maybe there IS some self owning going on somewhere near here.

Let me translate your post: "Oh wow, I can't come up with anything reasonable to counter this logic, so I must change the conversation topic by mindlessly attacking the poster."

I dont know what post you are referring to, and I dont care. I used my own words and i used my own logic. The fact is, there is no specific explanation on WHY the problem existed. There was just ambiguous explanation of WHAT happened. The information was incorrect can be misinterpreted in many ways, you and I are living proof of this.

RED: I already showed you logic, but hey, if you like burrying your head in a sand not seeing anything, it is your right as an ostrich.

You are correct, they didnt say it was user fault nor did they say it was their system fault. The thing is, most people are not QA nor even have necessary logic or experience to come to the right solution. Hence why all the fury, most people assume AV tried to blame them.

I work as a programmer and QA, and I know its not users who are at fault (unless this is all one clever attack on AV by a well coordinated internet force), but most non-programmers wouldn't come to the same conclusion. Thats what people like AV and corpus failt to understand - not all people are programmers! They want specifics and detailed explanation, not some half baked lines without much of explanation. Clear communications, that is the key in good CSR.
