I have no knowledge about this game from gameplay, I am not going to spend time on it. Chatting here does not count, I am chatting b/c I am idle waiting for something else.
That said, I have only reinforced my huge skeptism about this developer. They are either crooks or downright stupid. Stupid not in the sense of inexperienced, but in the sense of lacking common sense. No one publish a game like that or communicates with their potential client base like that. From the web to the way they handle their 7 year development, to beta to billing, everything looks odd, and smells fishy.
The game might be playable, the servers might be stabilised soon. The community looks bad now, it might improve later. But the developer will be the same bunch, and this alone spells doom for me. I will have a hard time imagining that they will suddenly mature and be good. Or if the crook suspicion is right, then good luck with the product they are now trying to push out of the door.
Either way, I will stay out of it. No harm watching from a distance, no harm trying to figure out what is going on. Its a mental exercise, like puzzle, like figuring out the murdering while watching a show. But to spend 50 euro and sink time into it? Not now, not likely ever for me.
Just a note to the OP, it would help to solidify your complaint to actually play the game before you start judging it, saying how buggy it is. I've had more fun playing DF than I have any other MMO so far, and I haven't found very many bugs at all. I know of one mob spot that is bugged that clans have been exploiting, but that's just about it. The PvP is extremely fun if done with groups (My personal preference), and even more satisfying when you kill a few fully geared out people, only to gear your naked self out in 20 seconds. And then kill them again when they try to reclaim their loot. Im not saying that there aren't flaws, because there definitely are, but not quite as many as you think. Go back under your bridge, or go play console games.
Let's face it, Aventurine is shit at updating the DFO site. No one will deny that; if they do they're clearly in denial. Things like prestige classes and player housing have been announced to have been removed, those announcements just never made it onto the site, lol. It's not acceptable but it is true. Going by what the website tells you, you would expect a lot more. If you research the game and see what the devs have said about it, you'd expect what you get. At some point in time they will update their site and people will have a good idea of what they're getting if that's their only source of information about the game. Clearly, if you're on this site right now reading this, you have this as a source too. MMORPG.com will tell you all you need to know about the game to have a good idea of what to expect.
They dont get it. I wouldnt even bother with them. For some reason they dont understand the concept of false advertisment. You can tell it went over some peoples heads when they replied with there opinion on how fun the game is. lol The big question i wanna know is what are there investors thinking, do they feel DF was a scam? You know they took there cut out of the release. But was that enough to calm em down till they get the rest of there money?
Yes this is one of the reason I feel the developer is nuts, or crooks. Technically they are liable for being sued for false advertisement, or outright cheating in some sense. Its ok if the product is in development. It not so alright if they know what is no longer in delivery when the product is already launched and fully "playable".
One way or another, this means the game is done for me. I will take this developer as someone to be very weary of, and their product, heavily discounted for worthiness.

You criticise that he does not give any solid information, that he should play before telling more. Then you follow with nothing more than pure opinion. Your criticism carry just as much weight as the OP.
As for going under the bridge or play console games, is it your only way of communications? Insulting people is the best way to deliver your opinion? You ruin all your credibility in one stroke.
They ran out of money. So either they scrap eight years of hard work and file for bankruptcy being unable to pay back their investors, or they launch a crude but solid game and polish it up as much as they can as the funds come in.
I'll never understand people like you. It's not a difficult concept to comprehend. The world revolevs around money. These developers are in it to make a good game, and make money. However, to make a good game, requires that you break the mold and go outside of the box, which never involves much money to start with which is required to actually create a good game.
To me.........this game is trying hard to live up to what it promised. To little to late....but I have yet to play it. I have seen the screen shots. I am not big on graphics.......but gameplay is huge. I have watched videos on youtube of people already using hacks to run faster so on and so forth..........still wondering why people payed to play a game that in my opinion is not even out of the alpha phase.
Anyway, the global economy being the way it is caused them to release an unfinished game. Simply put, they ran out of money and needed more, so they started charging people to play what is essentially a beta (if not an alpha from what I've seen and heard).
Whether or not it's a scam is for the people actually paying to play the game to decide.
Game is working just fine and it's fun, people basing their knowledge on the amount of whine on the official forums is annoying to say the least. Stop speculating and buy the game and decide yourself.
...Ok, fine sir!

Dont buy it..The lie is from Taoes and I have proof of his saying..What Taoes did say was and I Quote>>"" and that a fully functional and stable beta build was running on remote servers""
A fully Functional beta my a$$
Some people rob you at gun point..Others will rob you at "Ball Point Pen"
Best scam i ever played for two months! And if DF is a scam....i dont know what to call AoC, WAR, WoW or any other crap that we have seen the last few years.
WoW is the MMO Market leader, like it or not it sells to masses, DarkFail cant even be compared to AoC, WAR and much less to WoW.
Those 3 games will be around way after DarkFail closes down just like TR did! and ill be right there to say .. I Told you SO!
For some reason i believe that the last two people who posted are Blizzard employees.
In all seriousness, I'd be surprised if Blizzard even knew what DF was, and if they did, I'd be even more surprised if it wasn't the current running joke around the office.
The "paid forum shill" or "game devs posing as a regular joe to bash other games" is one of the largest misconceptions I see repeated on this forum constantly.. The only game employees who try to blindly promote their game here are all asian ftp games (like the mass hype rush by the devs of that mmo you can play on your phone.. I forget the name of it now).
Large companies could care less about the very small competition that DF brings to the table.. It's a small indie produced game that appeals to a very niche group of players.. Hell, they are only letting a VERY SMALL amount of players in ATM, so it's not like any major game is going to lose a large portion of their players seeing as most of them would not be able to even buy the game at this moment.
Besides, every company has their "hardcore fanboys" who will tirelessly promote their game, and bash others, for free. Why pay someone for something that many people will do for free, anyway? Not to mention most people who have basic logic skills will dismiss the rabid fanboys, and also ignore the obvious trolls.. These troll vs fanboy posts don't really encourage or discourage people from buying a game. Usually it's the more obviously objective reviews that will hold sway with the gaming public.
Yeah Blizzard dont know darkfall u right, they only thing they know is how to make their kid customers happy and change the whole classes every 2 months,PROPABLY you one of their customers, FREE EPEX plx need etc..
Df has been great for the bigger games so far. i admit i have resubbed to Lotro and VG at the minute after finding it too diificult to even get this game.

Get it?
Really?
Did they say to you --- Hey we're launching an unfinished untested buggy game.
But you can still buy it because we need the money.
Did they?
This man ^^^ Speaks the truth.
What speaks the truth is the title of the thread.
For some reason i believe that the last two people who posted are Blizzard employees.
