They had a thread on the official forums with a link to a speedhack video, the thread was taken down but the video did pretty much speak for itself
I even think it was an advert for a company that had made the hack. Oh well, they need to stop this sort of thing really really fast. Now there is proof for its existence the real test is how fast they react against this cheating! Even for the most hardcore fans I imagine this could be a gamebreaker if not taken care of.

it's not a speedhack, it's a sync issue where it looks like someone moves quickly but really it's your client that is out of sync with the server, then correcting itself. this sync issue was fixed with the patch that came out 2 (?) days ago.
<Mod edit> are you sure looks like a speed hack to me
nah its all sync issues lol
Here we go . . .
Good thing speedhacks don't exist right?

And there are actual PvP guilds who tell you how to install the hack when joining in. Hurray! Somehow I don't regret holding my order at all.. I think the Beta months were enough.
I think that video pretty much confirms the hack and also confirms what a lot of us have said from the beginning about Darkfall's client. There's no way for them to stop this kind of hacking, and it'll just continue to get worse until there is no way to compete in the game unless you cheat.
Final judgement: Darkfall will fail as all of the cheaters drive off anyone who just wanted to play a fair, open PvP game.

Yeah. I guess I'll just have to wait for Mortal Online. At least from what I've seen, MO's creators know what they're doing.
Its funny that all the DF fanboys (I was nearly one) say its ALL about skill in DF. Your ability to hack/cheat in DF has simply replaced your amount of patience for grinding gear in other games. But, I'm probably just a troll to them.
That's the one, though I didn't dare to link it myself, thanks for doing the dirty work for me.
After watching that video, it obviously is NOT a sync issue.. There is no ruberbanding, he was sprinting around a mob, which was working fine, no ruberbanding/stuck. The attack animations were perfect speed while he was sprinting/going faster then sprinting along with absolutely no environment ruberbanding. To doubt that DF will not have numerous hack programs is pretty naive.. He was obviously sprinting with no stamina loss, along with eventually moving a hell of alot faster then sprinting with no ruberbanding/warping/stuck animations that are indicative of a sync problem.
Many in the cheating community were wetting their pants when they discovered how "clientside" the packet info is in DF.. It will enable cheaters to easily speedhack/fly/teleport, not to mention the possibility of auto-aimers. When an online game relies so heavily on the clientside, as in where the character is in relation to the environment/npcs/other players, the packets are easily hacked into and altered, allowing smart programmers to exploit the system. It's apparent the DF devs have not implemented any anti-cheating measures yet. There were threads last night on forumfall that claimed there were people speedhacking, even their locations and names. It couldn't of been the sync bug last night, since it was fixed the day before....
If you want to learn more about DF's possible "clientside problems", google clientside hacking. There are many good articles about the subject.
Packet sniffers!
This game will fall flat on its face with all this cheats and Adventurine not doing a damn thing about it. No server wipe or new servers and bans show Adventurine condones this nonsense.
He knows.
Sarcasm is sometimes hard to spot here
And to javac: Stop blindly defending. Makes you look like a real troll. A fanboy troll.
There is nothing wrong with defending the game you like, but some on this forum are taking this way to far. They are misleading the mmorpg community. Of course, the same thing is true for some of the haters.
The sad thing is people that are using these hacks will ultimately hurt the life of the game by leading to other players being frustrated and quitting. In the end they are hurting themselves because they will be only left with the other hackers to play with and that will be a much smaller population.
Yep.
Some will merely say "You know what, I know the game has issues. However, the good outweighs the bad, and it's the most fun I've had in any MMO in a long time, so I can overlook them". I can respect that. Even when they get a bit too "absolute" about it, saying "It's the best MMO out"... they're obviously only speaking for themselves there.
However... There's a big difference between acknowledging issues and accepting them anyway, and outright denying issues exist - or trying to explain or dismiss them into non-existence.
There are some on these forums who will dismiss, deny or otherwise ignore any issue brought up about the game at all, saying the game is "just fine" and "there are no issues". Those are the people who make me /facepalm.
and the cash shop selling asphalt..." - Mimzel on F2P/Cash Shops
Hmmm am I being innocent or does a speedhack coming out this quickly seem... well.. very quick ?
According to the hacker's website, they've been developing them since beta, which means they were in beta or had access to the client. Unfortunately, based on what I've read here and elswere, many of the checks are handled client-side, not server-side, which makes the game (allegedly) much easier to hack than many other MMOs.

Most of the info is client side.
any modder from single player games can easly tamper the files. now in the hand of a hacker they can tamper the files and keep it well hidden, and are capable of working around any new patch that tries to fix the problem.
Funny i remember the 1st time i saw hacks on a online rpg. that was Phantasy star online. hehe long time ago... well i remember how at 1st getting to lvl 100 and have rares was a holy shit look what he achived thing... Then the hacks came in. you can hit lvl cap in less than a few min. weps could be made ect. all becayse everything was saved client side. Then people figured out how to crash the servers ect. The sad thing about it, that game used to be free, then sega wanted to charge 10$ a month and provide protection and a hack free enviorment. Sadly since the most important data was saved client side they couldnt do nothing. whats more hummiiating this was done on a console. It took them a long time to make a good pc version (it came out 2 times on the pc, the 1st was hacked to death, the 2nd was hacked by pros.)
Anyhow, AV can easly transfer the most imp data to be server side that is if they can. If not its just a matter of time for one guild that wants to rule the game and bully others to destroy the game.
Watching Fanbois drop their soap in a prison full of desperate men.
just found and watched the video in question. Unless AV can prevent this, and prevent it now, their game WILL fail.
well i got a warning for posting the link..i dont care though people need to know its out there and they risk paying 53 bucks to a company that isnt going to be able to stop these things from happening..i was very excited and wanted to play this game til i saw that vid today...now i just feel bad for the people who did pay and are stuck with it.
Thanks for posting it anyway. It's important that people understand that this game isn't, nor will it ever be, a fair skilled based PvP environment. I feel bad for those who have been taken in by all the lies, especially those who continue to support the game despite it's obvious flaws and terrible launch.
