    Even if you bought the preorder andf they charged your account for the game, you still cant log in. The forums are down and when I try to log in it says my account is not active.

     

    Didnt see this coming, with the way they have been dealing with everything else for the past week.

    What are you implying?

    You buy an account for $40. Downloading software legally with a torrent is in use for years already.

    I am stunned. No info if you can buy it from a gamesite or if you can download it or how to get it..no links or nothing.

     

    Was in forum and see that a Moderator said. If you download it make sure to have firewalls and antivirus on so it will not infect your comp. So seems its will be ok to download it..then the other question is why don't they have any links to download it? Ofc they want to sell it to get some cash but why the heck to they even suggest that you can download it then...weird.

    the forums are ofline right now, but under the announcments/news portion of the forum you can find a link to download the game. It is via torrent so get ready for a 2 day download. :)

    Release date 25th is just a lie, release just for a few its not a release. You cant buy it at stores or download it without invite, another dissapointing release, hope this doesnt go worse in the end...
    So when the last wave of invites its done the first ones will be able to gank the new ones at pleasure.

    This game has not been released. This is a paid beta.

    When you are able to purchase the game and begin playing, then it is a release.

    This game has to go down as the biggest release joke in history.

     

    If the company had any faith in the game being good, it would be out on the 25th February and on shelves in shops.

    The mmorpg.com website stated that the release was 25th Feb and the darkfall news release on 22 January said 25th Feb - didn't say beta, said game release.  Now, their website has no updated news, it says you can sign up for the beta on the homepage, but you actually have to search through the forum for an account sign up.

    When you manage to find that and sign up, you are told that they will e-mail you a link which you must activate within 24 hours - lol, I have signed up 3 times now and each time the link arrives AFTER the 24 hours so its automatically cancelled.

    I e-mailed their support people 3 days ago and no reply yet.

    Seriously, how hard should a customer have to try and get something when the competitors make it so much easier.  I've never played the game (if indeed anyone has) and will probably not bother because of the effort involved to do so - smacks of unprofessionalism and if that's their support and capabilities on show, then the game will be crap anyway.

    They have no competitors... this you would know if you opened your mind to the fact that no MMO launches smoothly + they're a small indie company self-publishing.   Rethink it man, and give the game a shot... after my 2nd day of beta playing i sold my eq2 and lotr accounts.

    Here I am, doing my monthly check on the status of Darkfall. At this time, it seems that:

    • The main Darkfall website isn't updated to reflect current information on the game's status.
    • Players must embark on a forum scavenger hunt to learn how to subscribe to Darkfall.
    • Once this information is obtained, the system doesn't work properly in many cases.
    • The primary distribution method is BitTorrent, even though there's supposed to be a publisher.
    • No one (including fanboys) has all the facts straight.
    • The developers continue to make baffling posts about staged releases and other gibberish.
    • Non-European release date unknown.
    • Fanboys defending all of this as perfectly normal and understandable.

    Well, it's the same old Darkfall scene. I'll be checking back in on April Fool's Day to see how many people are still fooled by smoke and mirrors.

    actually i think we're all agreeing the launch got fucked.  Where people differentiate is that many people view the game's launch as a measurement of how good the game is, which is wrong.  In reality the game is awesome, the company is crap.

    They should have said that the realease would be starting at about 25 feb giving a day or 2.

    And that the releasing would take a couple of months. Exact end date of releasing yet to be determined.

    The game isnt released yet, its still in closed beta ( aoc style) which allows a few more players to play each day.

    The only people that lie better than politicians are the guys from aventurine.

    But they have to get some credit for deliver you the game you like. Think about that the past years noone wanted to give you such a game..how many company's changed even their game to not offer what you like or gone the easy level-themepark-wow clone way.

    Once they cash in on all the credit card transactions they are having to manually process, they will then drive down to the local Wal-mart and buy some more 286's. Once they have hooked them all up, they will let more people in.

     

     

    Not accurate I know, but it pretty much sums up what they are doing.



    The current subscribers are funding the next set of servers. They don't have the operating cash to open up the servers they need for a full retail release, and they didn't have the cash to properly stress test their servers. So what they have now is a paid beta with a random lottery to decide which mark gets in first.

    Like he ever stopped. Personally, I think he spikes each new batch stronger than the last. Brain cells can only take so much abuse.
