sigh* Geesh! Looks like someone needs a Xanax/Ritalin and work out some of their insecurities. I'm like "OMG.. whats with all that nerd rage ??" Nobody attacked you.. please stay on the topic. This thread isn't about you!
I agree with Jack, unless you know your systems temperment, the mini-dumb is one of the best places to start when seeking help. The BSOD itself is a self help tool and the reason Windows does this. If the OP can post the pertinent info, we'll be able to assist/debug your problem with much more acuity.
Yes posting the information on the blue screen would be the most helpful to start because not all blue screen problems can be fixed by checking the minidump but since it appears to be somewhat software based its a good place to start.
As for dreadknot, I completely agree... he needs to tone it down. He's gone way past any constructive assistance. Its one reason why I rarely post on hardware or technical help threads on this forum anymore. Regardless if my information is helpful, his over the top antics and incoherent attacks just draw away from any true help you could give the OP.
All in all it doesn't make him look like he knows whats best but moreso that he's just trying to talk over anyone who has a different way to troubleshoot and it can easily get confusing for anyone with an honest question to get it answered correctly.
Most importantly to the OP, if its a name brand PC, it would be best to just cut to the chase and contact the mindless pantheon of technical support specialists at dell (or whichever builder you purchased from). They'll run you through a number of tests and try and recreate the problem or have you read the blue screen to them --- if you've already paid for the warranty you should use it.
Every now and then you might get lucky and they will be able to quickly assess the problem (if its common) and may even have a fix ready for you. If not, save your data, and return it or exchange it. Also, before you switch out any parts.. make sure it doesn't void the warranty!!
Good luck!

Dreadknot this isn't the first thread you've done this in, and don't act like it is. I did read the whole thread, a simple disagreement does not constitute a whole thread page of arguments. I'm not going to argue about it.. its just my feeling that there are some posters that are more willing to attack others over ego issues when they could be more constructive just sticking to topic. Aside from posting mini dumps I fail to see any number of threads saying to actually post the BSOD ( I did read a few but they get muddled)
Regardless, I have no question of your ability, I just find your method questionable.

If thats how you took my post then thats fine. My original response was relating directly to the poster above me, agreeing with him on all points, so my post wasn't unfounded.
I don't think, nor have I ever though that what I say on these forums will actually be taken into consideration, especially from someone who takes as much pleasure from arguing as they do trying to "help", and again I'm not looking for an argument.
I've been working in this business for almost 9 years now, and I'm a member of a number of tech forums and help sites as well as some online assistance groups through crossloop. If I show any ego at all it would be directed towards my experience, and I would never force any professional opinion or grief on anyone that was resilient to accepting my way of troubleshooting, which is your way of "being proud".
If the user really wants technical help there are better places to go then the MMORPG forums where more qualified people can assist. I don't use the itknowledge exchange often but its a free collaborative site where you can receive help on a number of technical issues.
Dreadknot, that site is open to you, but they won't allow your bickering there. This is solely for the use of solving problems, not arguing about them.
unless this is constant, you shouldnt be bothered at all , one crash in a few weeks is norm..
shit i probably get 2-3 a week, and i dont mind myself.. i own nvidia.. who ever says nvidia doesnt cause problems is biggest retard around, oh how i am sick of my game freezing for 10s, and i already know.. that nvidia driver stopped working.. and recovered.. then if im lucky game wont crash and i can get back to it..
oh ye.. i run latest drivers.. and i use driver sweeper.. and clean reinstall everytime.. im probably far better with pcs, than some rapid fanboy who gona comment after my post, how its all my imagination and its only happening to me
crashes happen.. blue screen happens , if ur that scared off it, go to my computer/properites/advanced start up and recovery, turn off auto reboot, on crash, when it crashes, write down code blue screen gives.. and google it after, its probably gona come with some retarded micrsofot page, telling probably the same thing on all of those 50-100 error codes there are.. few of them have actuall solutions tho..
otherwise i wouldnt worry too much ..
what kind of shit is bestbuy if all you get is month warranty ? good god.. how wrong is that.. minimum you should get is a year for psu.. even if they give whole pc just a year, cuz of psu.. fuck them, untill you get atleast 2 year, for whole pcu.. or find someone who have warrancy for each part ( everyones whos not retarded if you ask me.. )

when was the last time you actually upgraded your pc, or got new.. to say it shouldnt crash.. when was the last time you overclocked anything..
i build my own computer, and if it crash i know why it does, i wont go into this whole "what i do for living, and what you do " and who is smarter here, but your statement is absurd
i have sli, i have nvidia, i have creative sound card, and i run vista. all of those things can crash pc just in a blink of an eye, + my system is heavily orverclocked + i have 3 different hdds ( yes yes.. i bought just 1.. rest just came to me.. and i couldnt say no to a free thing )
i somewhat have feeling you still running 2 years old system with 1-2 same hdd, 1 gpu, and good old xp,

False,
You are just too emotional fragile and thought I was talking about you, when I wasn't. I know it's hard to believe, but this thread is not about you.
Secondly, (as mentioned by others), your over-the-top ego trips leave a lot to be desired and you really should try a more adult approach.Temper tantrums are ugly and probably the reason people avoid you.
As for the OP's problem, Windows7 can go a long way to resolving issues. It has a more robust capture state and sometimes corrects BSOD's before they happen. I know when my budz are having issues, I reset the bios and rebuild it up from there.
Falice, where are you with this now... any headway?

Good luck!
you didnt read the whole post did you......
he came into there thread and told me that i was stupid...after that i opened fire...
so all your statements are pointless if you knew what was going on.
So with your whole post you did exactly what you frownd on...all so seeing that me and him stopped our fight.
"his over the top antics and incoherent attacks just draw away from any true help you could give the OP."
Regardless, I have no question of your ability, I just find your method questionable.
so now you have help further the derailment of this thread. Havening the last word. Just like me. You are no better and its your ego shineing through trying to prove your statements...just like me.
See you can tell someone to stop Argueing buy getting into an Argument. (which you have now started) The fact that you thought that you would just come in and Make a statement. and We were all just going to say.." you know what hes right... i will stop"? and you think that you Have no Ego..... to prove it you will post again....and if you dont its cause i told you you would either way. your OP had no merit besides coming in and talking shit about how someone was acting. (After me and the guy settled our fight) you were hopin to look like the smart kid. Your the same as all of us.
PS telling someone that they have a big ego..is an insult...welcome to the family
I dont give a shit about ego...if your good at something nothing wrong with being proud. Your backing up your statments... right.?

This is solely for the use of solving problems, not arguing about them.
unless this is constant, you shouldnt be bothered at all , one crash in a few weeks is norm..
shit i probably get 2-3 a week, and i dont mind myself.. i own nvidia.. who ever says nvidia doesnt cause problems is biggest retard around, oh how i am sick of my game freezing for 10s, and i already know.. that nvidia driver stopped working.. and recovered.. then if im lucky game wont crash and i can get back to it..
oh ye.. i run latest drivers.. and i use driver sweeper.. and clean reinstall everytime.. im probably far better with pcs, than some rapid fanboy who gona comment after my post, how its all my imagination and its only happening to me
crashes happen.. blue screen happens , if ur that scared off it, go to my computer/properites/advanced start up and recovery, turn off auto reboot, on crash, when it crashes, write down code blue screen gives.. and google it after, its probably gona come with some retarded micrsofot page, telling probably the same thing on all of those 50-100 error codes there are.. few of them have actuall solutions tho..
otherwise i wouldnt worry too much ..
what kind of shit is bestbuy if all you get is month warranty ? good god.. how wrong is that.. minimum you should get is a year for psu.. even if they give whole pc just a year, cuz of psu.. fuck them, untill you get atleast 2 year, for whole pcu.. or find someone who have warrancy for each part ( everyones whos not retarded if you ask me.. )
HUH??
You shouldn't have one crash in a year.....who builds your computers?
"This may hurt a little, but it's something you'll get used to. Relax....."
HUH??
You shouldn't have one crash in a year.....who builds your computers?
when was the last time you actually upgraded your pc, or got new.. to say it shouldnt crash.. when was the last time you overclocked anything..
i build my own computer, and if it crash i know why it does, i wont go into this whole "what i do for living, and what you do " and who is smarter here, but your statement is absurd
i have sli, i have nvidia, i have creative sound card, and i run vista. all of those things can crash pc just in a blink of an eye, + my system is heavily orverclocked + i have 3 different hdds ( yes yes.. i bought just 1.. rest just came to me.. and i couldnt say no to a free thing )
i somewhat have feeling you still running 2 years old system with 1-2 same hdd, 1 gpu, and good old xp,
am i close?

end point

False,
You are just too emotional fragile and thought I was talking about you, when I wasn't.

Let this thread die please, I returned the rig last week and opted for an ibuypower through Costco.com, which has a 90day return policy and lifetime support free of charge to Costco members. Keeping my fingers crossed and hoping it all works better than that POS from BestBuy.
