I am going to hope for the best but expect the worst. The proof is in the patching, so to speak. So far FC's track record on patches is less than stellar and it would be nice if they surprised me with this one and actually fix more than they break. Anyone who has followed the game for a while knows what I mean, I don't think I need to link back to the "gems fix" patch, or the "PvP fix patch". Although I want to think this will be the patch that draws me into the game, I look at the tea leaves and see multiple bugs and imbalances written in them and hear echos of moaning and gnashing of teeth. One thing is for sure though this patch will change the entire game design from skill based to item based and that surely will piss off a few.
In any MMO, the bigger the patch gets, the more people have issues when it goes live. Add in the 'FunCom Factor' and this is going to make a huge mess that won't be resolved for quite a while and I bet they lose a lot of already frustrated customers over it.

3 patches this weeks, shows the detirmination of the team in working with the community.
Serveral class changes are the result of direct feedback.
People with access to the test forums should check it out.
Maybe I missed it, but I didn't see the DX 10 upgrades, or the drunken brawling. Is DX10 already in the game?
It was released to the live game servers but as a test mode. Basically now there are far more many DX10 cards available they needed a wider audience to continue to optimize it. Therefore there is a choice for people to play the game in DX10 but this side of things is still a release candidate. Many people are getting good results. However, overall opinion is that it still needs tweaking such as the SSAO option which puts to much of a haze on things, grass can look weird.
Here are some 10 min youtube videos I made in DX10:
Drunken Brawling is not in this update, at the moment they are focusing on other area's deemed more important.
Well all I can say for my experience is don't even try it
Switch to DX10 mode and ran fine but a bit slow so I decided to lower a few setting which caused the game to crash taking down my PC with it. Fine its still kinda beta so switch back to DX9 and crashed again, reboot try again same issue. Gave up with AoC at this point and try another game same thing crashes out as soon as anything 3D runs.
At this point I have cleaned down and reinstalled my driver and reinstalled DX but am still getting the same issues in all games, so basicly until I can find a fix my PC is trashed
Sorry to hear you had issues. Personally over 3 PC's with multiple set up's never had the game crash.
Have you run the repair tool? Also CCleaner is good for registry fixes.
Sounds like graphics card driver issues maybe.
The update is not working and I keep getting an error code 102. It tells me to contact customer support but as far as I know funcom wont own up to a phone number so you can call them so I figured I tried here before e-mailing them.

If your using vista try deleting your preferences for AoC : C:Users[user name]AppDataLocalFuncomConanPrefs
also search for the shaders file and delete that too ( It will be replaced with new when patcher starts up) Shaders_Cache
Try launching the game from inside the folder @ Conan Patcher
Could always try fresh install with windows firewall off for the install as I think I remember some ppl having some error codes with that one time.
Kind of sad by the full plate for all soldier change, that's the only reason I rolled a guardian in the first place. Also, this overwhelming hit business sounds like I'm going to be a bit weaker. All in all it sounds like steps in the right direction, just don't like having to relearn.
Guardians are still by farthe best tank. At least the Conq really needed this, it was almost useless compared to the othertanks because they took out all the formation stuff early in the beta and didn't replace it or rebalance the class. The SK worked ok as it was but guards was a lot better.
There is a reason that people are usually looking for a guard instead of a tank in the OCC.
The patch sounds great but where is OT common? I ain't resubbing until that one is online, have several characters that I need to level the lasts levels to 80 and I hate Khesh.

It is there, it is a very cool place, lots of fighting going on and some fun quests too.
Hey Avery. In the last "Letter for the Game Director" (may 2009), we are told that update 1.05 is almost ready. Do you know when we can expect to see this update going live? Can we expect it within days, weeks or months? Thank you, and have a nice day?
Thank you for commenting.. I think we'll have to wait some time for update 1.05 too. The player raid testing is probably going to take a while to complete, but great initiative! Hopefully we will see a very polished game as a result. I have only tried the trial, but i'm going to sub once i get my new computer, AoC doesn't run all that well on a 3 year old laptop but i still enjoyed it. Have fun!
To be honest, DX10 is behaving random, and some players are complaining about massive slowdowns. Apparently it is still a test version of the DX10 stuff. It looks definitely cool though.
im waiting to resub til 1.05 comes out. but from what i saw it was pretty good. but its taking far too long, but i guess id rather them take their time, than rush it out. so i guess patience is a virtue.

Regarding ranger tweaking,
Are there any plans to be able to automatically switch hot bars with weapons?
Are there any plans to have a 1st person / 3rd person view toggle?
Playing a ranger would be really more fun with the above features.

Hi there Deewe, Switching hotbars with weapons, not to my knowledge sorry, and I know that the over the shoulder camera mode can be attained by mouse wheel, locking it in with a toggle would be nice, but it is also nice that you can scale with the mouse wheel the way it is now. I can ask around a bit more for you.

Well you need both features:
Being able to zoom in and out
Switching between 1st person view and 3rd one.
As a note I was able to set up an Xbox controller and add autohotkey on top of it. It made the game 100% more fun to play. I didn't really love console pad vs keyboards but AoC fits it very well. I even have a nostromo N52 and the game pad game play is far better
So with the above I achievedthe following:
Automatically switch hotbars when switching weapons
Emulated a mouse look toogle
Automatically switch to mouse look mode when entering in first person view
Played a 100% efficient ranger
Played with a Xbox controller
If I wanted I could have automatically switched to melee weapons while going back in 3rd peron view
And all of the above was done with a character that uses 1rst and 3rd person view and switches weapons often.
Sad thing is the devs don't even try to do the above and they have all the tools to do so. One can wonders if they aren't doing this on purpose.
I'd say let me demo AoC at any show with my configuration and I'll sell AoC boxes like hot cakes. And with FunCom help we could make Xbox players cry to see AoC work with like a charm on a PC with a controller.
* Talisman Mastery now grants the Blood Hex and Shadow Hex spells in addition to its current function. These spells are only available while the Talisman Mastery buff is active.
* Blood Hex: Inflicts damage on the target, heals the Templar, and applies the Hexed debuff. The Hexed effect can be stacked up to 3 times and increases the damage and healing done by Blood Hex and the damage dealt by Shadow Hex. The hexes stop if the Talisman Mastery buff is removed from the Templar.
* Shadow Hex: Inflicts damage on the target and applies the Hexed debuff. The Hexed effect can be stacked up to 3 times and increases the damage and healing done by Blood Hex and the damage dealt by Shadow Hex. The hexes stop if the Talisman Mastery buff is removed from the Templar.
* The amount of damage the Dread Shadow can absorb has been greatly increased.
Demonlogist
* Fixed the Circle of Magic feat to correctly increase the damage of Shockstrike.
* Shrink will now only affect the Demon pets summoned by the Demonologist.
* Incinerate Stacks: Incinerate will now only stack up for the player that casts it. If an other player casts Fires of Gehenna they will no longer start on the same stack as the other demonlogists that have already stacked up Incinerate. Detonation will now only consume the casters Incinerate stack.
Necromancer
* The feat "Spell - Corpse Detonation" has been removed and replaced with the feat "Spell - Undead Champion: Slaughter Wraith". This new spell allows the summoning of a new undead champion pet, the Slaughter Wraith. This pet costs 6 points to summon and maintain
* The following spells have changed from being point-blank AOE spells to be target AOE spells: Parasitic Soul Swarm, Decay, Soul Frost and Plagued Heart Curse.
Tempest of Set
* The cooldown on Storm Blood has been lowered to 2 minutes.
* Serpent Transmutation has been changed to have a duration of 10 seconds (up from 7), a recast time of 5 minutes (down from 15) and grants 133% invulnerability (down from 160%).
* Removed the internal 1 second cooldown on gaining Soul Prison charges. You will now gain multiple charges if you kill multiple enemies simultaneously.
COMBAT
General
* Many passive AoE effects, such as Avatar of Xotli, Gangrenous Stench, and Necrotic Leech, will no longer pulse their AoE damage while Shield of the Risen is active.
CONTENT
* The Smuggler in Old Tarantia will now offer to take players to the Tarantia Common District.
Ymirs Pass
* The Amphitheatre of Karutonia: There will be no more Degenerate Fiend invasions.
Tortage
* New item rewards added to several quests on Tortage, including: Dry Times, Path of the Pirate, The Legendary Turach, Empty Reserves, Of Rotting Flesh, The Evil that Men Do, Tailored Tasks and Letter to the King.
Raid Changes
* All raid monsters except bosses have had their health, damage and mitigation reduced. This makes it slightly less important to have all mitigation debuffs up at all times, and will generally make trash fights and add fights easier.
* Reduced the cast time and damage of Final Blow. It will no longer increase the DPS of the mob.
* Players are now able to mitigate more raid boss spells using special abilities.
ITEMS
* Stacksizes for pots and consumables have been adjusted.
MASSIVE PVP
* Attackers are no longer able to keep or get siege weapons while in the defenders raid.

Personally at the speed they are going I would think before end of the month, at best middle of June (ish). I can't say for sure, this new approach they have is quite thorough, no one expects a perfect patch release, just that it is as close as perfectly possible from which we have seen before with Ymir's. This time around there is so much extra stuff, even tweaks to Tortage and across the spectrum of classes.
Notice the last update has some of the raid feedback garnered recently from event on test server very happy to see that.
All of what you see here further strengthens the fact they are listening and also have focus on endgame STILL.

This is gonna be the patch that the game needs.
I'm comming back to AOC for sure. The worst thing about AOC was the itemization for me, but it seems this wont be a concern anymore (after 1.05).
What class can u suggest guys (that will be good for pvp in 1.05)?

It was released to the live game servers but as a test mode. Basically now there are far more many DX10 cards available they needed a wider audience to continue to optimize it. Therefore there is a choice for people to play the game in DX10 but this side of things is still a release candidate. Many people are getting good results. However, overall opinion is that it still needs tweaking such as the SSAO option which puts to much of a haze on things, grass can look weird.
Here are some 10 min youtube videos I made in DX10:
www.youtube.com/watch Jan
www.youtube.com/watch March + Siege
www.youtube.com/watch Tarantia Commons New Playfield (part of patch 1.05 )

Crows Nest dungeon is quite hard and packed full of bad guys. The 3 way faction system for the zone is real time and does add a bit extra too.
Towards the end of the zone NPCs are level 80 and there are lots again too + with some nice repeatable quests.

MASSIVE PVP
* Attackers are no longer able to keep or get siege weapons while in the defenders raid.
when is this patch coming out?? is there an inkling of a date being proposed?
3.4ghz Phenom II X4 965, 8GB PC12800 DDR3 GSKILL, EVGA 560GTX 2GB OC, 640GB HD SATA II, BFG 1000WATT PSU. MSI NF980-G65 TRI-SLI MOBO.
