As someone said before, this proves that they don't test their shit, and if they do, they don't care enough to fix it before throwing it at the community
You are absolutely correct. Darkfall is not the game for me and I will keep playing my cool games and I'll let you keep contributing to the "Let's keep Tasos in beer" charity known as Aventurine.

although it does happen sometimes with great effort on my part as well as some other but in general its very rare for people to use the name of an actual game when making comparisions.
could you please do the favor of listing a few of these "cool games"?
Thanks
(p.s. No this is not "bait" nor is it trying to start a fitght I just want a point of reference)
Please do not respond to me, even if I ask you a question, its rhetorical.

How about... oh I don't know... like every single video game ever made with the exception of E.T. for the Atari 2600?
Can't the weather be turned off? If it can, then it really doesn't matter I guess. Most people that love PvP will turn off anything and everything to squeeze 1 or 2 fps more out of their system. (At least during big fights)
You can't turn it off no and its no lag issue but rain is just awfull plus fact that one standing next to you have sunshining or the rain suddenly stop its rediculous:(
Its not a gamebreaker for me and some weather elements are nice the nighttime looks very nice but this weather is just a after thought fastly implemented for US launch:(
Actually, they had weather for the beginning of beta ( I didn't see it towards the last month of the beta ) and they decided not to release with it.
Yeah the weather system was fixed but it's still kind of bugged, (Most people see the weather, but a small few don't). They also fixed the rain so instead of it looking like you're being pelted with a machine gun, it looks like real rain.

It looks like some kind of effect like when you open a magic box and light is emitted from it. I never would have thought that was rain. Even in the context that the picture shows.
I don't know what's up with the dude who took that picture, but rain doesn't look like that at all for me (or in any of the other screenshots of it). It actually looks more like water and goes in front of, on, and behind the character. That picture makes it look pretty shitty.
The problem with the rain isn't how it looks, it's that it doesn't seem to rain for everyone even if they're standing next to one another - which is pretty retarded. It's not entirely client-side, though because it will rain for a bunch of people at the same time... so some sort of lag issue must happen where another player doesn't see the rain.
Either way, it's bugged. But it's not as ugly as that picture makes it look.
can you show us a better pic of it then please? i am curious how it looks for you
The last patch fixed most of the problems with the system. Supposedly people are still out of sync with the server, but most people get the same weather affects in the same area.
Supposedly people are still out of sync with the server
Yup, it's our fault.
Did I say it was. Absolutely not. Stop trolling and read what I said in context of the post. Its not the player's fault that the server only sends the command for rain once and the client doesn't recieve it. Next time you troll do better. K thanks bye.

Message recieved, next time I get killed because of things out of my control, I will subdue my need to 'troll' a thread about the weather in Darkfall doing exactly what you just said it does.
Originally posted by Evasia Its just awefull and client side, so one sees rainand other next to him see sunshine WTF? Clauds suddenly 2D and when night comes in the starry night sky is infront of passing clouds lol who program this must a super nub:( And rain man thats so terible even a lowest budget game have better rain then this crap:(
Wow, seems like the DFO weather system was designed by someone who probably spells a lot like you do, lol.

I don't get why this is such a big deal. Why would you care if you're fighting in a giant battle while it's "raining" but your friend doesn't see rain? It's too trivial compared to the other flaws of this game.
Because this:
makes it so that you can't see crap while the other guy can.
Holy shit, what kind of POS system do you have that makes rain look like that? Rain on my system looks so much nicer.
What's stopping those who complain about the pic showed here to show the marvelous droplets of angelic dew appearing on their screen, then?
People will comment on what's posted. And the pic posted here shows a very amateurish rainfall. If it's so much better on your magic system, post it. It's not that hard.

Next time it rains for me I will. At first it looked like it sprinkled and then it got a bit harder, but doesn't have a huge affect on visability as that SS shows, which was taken before yesterday's patch.

i think they fixed the client sided issue not 100% sure
Lol.
Also, I knew it was an Evasia thread just from the title. You're the only person I know of on MMORPG.com who does this:(.
You mean client side processing? Can they fix it? Can it be fixed at all, short of rewriting everything?
It was fixed in a patch yesterday.
