Technically America refers to both South and North America. The America's so to speak. America is not a country, though often referenced to in terms of the USA. It is technically impossible to say that America = Country however. Technically.
Australia is a the only one of its kind. This means its the only Country thats considered a Continent and an Island, in the world.
