I was playing AO earlier today and man, there's a ton of noobs in Rome blue. Even the backyards had groups of people in them, I haven't even checked out the subway yet.
I think it is a smart move by funcom. The more people that try it the more that are likely to buy the expansions. Oh, and any of you noobs on the rimor server look me up if you need some nice Carb armor made, I'll hook you up.
i played the seven day free trial a few months ago and liked (but not enough to subscribe) so this is cool for me, only problem is its taken me forever to download it. bit torrent sucks....really bad. im getting like 10kbps on it and it wont go up, and i download normally at about 120-150kbps (WinMX and other downloads).

When the game started out two years ago (or was it in 2001... Bah, I forget), the storyline, environment and the gameplay attracted me to it. I've even d/l-ed the pics and start making territorial boundaries with flags to represent the Omni-who and the what-not.
At that time, I was put off by the pricings (being a pay-to-play game, and I still slogging in my high schools). But nevertheless, I was attracted to the game.
Now it seems that the inner AO-player in me has awakened. And now that it is free, I'm now going to be freaking crazy! (But, uhm.... I've long since forgot what am I supposed to do. Bah, I'll go to the website and check it out myself.)
Good news.
But it ain't stopping me from getting Guild Wars (when it came out) and WoW (when the world edition came out --> I'm not as lucky as you Europeans. ) -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
