Yes, there are many different perspectives and many different types of people play MMOs.

Fortunately, majority rules. If you found something annoying, and 9 other people found it annoying, but one person liked it, guess what? You'd all call it annoying and that one person would go find someplace where people agreed with him. I'm not saying anything about the Aion community, but if there's a general consensus, it rules out everything you just said. Because people who agree with that consensus will start treating it as fact, and they'll include it in reviews, whenever they talk about the game, whenever they recommend or condemn it, etc.

CB6 has really turned a lot of people off from the game.  I won't be playing again till release and if the problems are not fixed I will cancel my sub and move on.  The community tonight was really bad and both sides (asmos and Elyos  had their share of them) on our server (siel).  NCSoft if you want this game to be a success in NA/EU market you had better get your act together or just leave the NA/EU market and release games only for the Asian market.

    Hey Hey

First Off folks this is a Beta, and a Beta that was not really designed to fix changes , but for minor translation tweaks , and server loads.  (i would not even consider this Closed beta , since you can buy your way in).  So lets put some of this in perspective.  My second point is the PVP does not bring in psychopaths, it brings in people that are naturally a bit more competitive.  Instead of jumping to conclusions before the game goes live , relax take a breath, decide if you like the game play , and if you do play the first month and see if you like the community.  And for for Christs sake do not look at the forums to see what the community is like, Aionsource is fucking retarded, i go to aionblah, or because i play EQ2 atm , EQ2flames.

They should rename this type of testing Gamma Testing ,  the idea of what a Beta test is to me has changed over the 5+ years i have played MMO's

Why do I feel this community complain is heavily influenced by PvP happening in rift areas?

The difference is the Aion community attended a seminar put on by the Eve Online community. Pompous and petty, that pretty much sums up the Eve player base.

Well, not without good reason though, so its all good.

But Aion's in beta, and the "real' community won't develop until after players are asked to pay for the game.

We'll see if they can keep up with EVE's high standards.

In my opinion It really is too early to judge the community.

Also I suspect most people play differently when there is limited time. I'm certainly playing differently from how I will when the game starts for real.

Community in the first 2 beta's was second only to EQ because only the genuine fans of Aion where in those and the majority had been pre-ordered for months.

Then the other pre-orders where you don't have to spend money just get your key then cancel your order after beta end started to appear.

My money is half of those asshats won't even play Aion and I would be glad if they didn't although I havent witnessed it personally only the good stuff like people shouting grats when they see someone ding and random's just standing around buffing people whilst chatting.

So hopefully the majority of the asshats won't make it to live but even if they do get a good guild and /addignore is your friend

SWG I had 180 on friends list 1000+ on ignore list :)

yeah i agree, most of the bad people will not actually want to waste the money on a game, then on a sub.  All the haters will be gone in the game at release cause they won't want to pay for it....just wait it out.

So much of these people creating these threads about community in every MMO, its so stupid.

Do you not realize your community is what you make it? If you find people to be too rude or somehting, find  a guild with like minded individual and create your own community,

Geezus, its an MMORPG, it doesnt automatically mean you need to love everyone you come across, because thats impossible. Just like the real world is filled with douchebags, the online world is no different. And just like the wa you would create a social circle in real life, you do the same thing online. reading these threads youd think the bulk of MMO players never went to high school.. complaining about community.

Your going to have to learn to live with the wow type community from here on out. WoW brought to many people to this genre that have no buisness in it.

PvP games draw a certain segment of the population that can only be labled psychopaths. They live only to destroy other peoples enjoyment as a means of boosting their own egos. PvP games give these people a woody. It is giving them a liscense to engage in all the most anti-social activites that they thrive upon.
I do not imply that everyone that plays PvP falls into this category, but it does not take many to destroy a game. Once the community has been destroyed, the people who do not choose to deal with the psychopaths will leave, leaving these people behind to feed on each other until the next PvP game releases.

I agree with this comment 100% especially after playing darkfall

A lot of the people playing the game are WoW players as well so a bad community is going to be expected. Not to mention it is a PvP game which loves to breed and pull in the 'jerk' crowd since they tend to like that kind of stuff (ganking/griefing/ jump-up-and-down pewpew/etc).

Your right at least in part, the rogue type class, Assassins , in this game are not as overpowered as the WOW rogues are, in fact they nothing special from what ive seen.

Best thing you can do, is avoid high traffic areas. find likeminded individuals, and go off some place not camped or full of people. Hell, swap channels.

If you choose not to, then well.. you're choosing to deal with those elements.

This game is WoW with the only race for both sides being a fruity Blood Elf. Its a game that is going to take away the majority of the weeaboo RPers though...

Have you been to Aionsource yet?

All people on Aionsource are going to play Aion?

If you choose a game based on how people talk on some forums, then im afraid there is no hope for any game

or music or whatever for that matter

When you say Aion community people think you are talking about the in-game community.

To that, there isn't one yet!  Beta game communities are never the same as the released game community.

Post this again in 2 months and I'll let you know my feelings.

But, I see that what you actually meant was the forum community for Aion.  To that I can only laugh.  In-game communities never resemble their forum counterparts.

You should never judge a game based on the people who post on forums.  We are the minority.  We do not represent the majority of people you will meet in a game.
