SOE, not just for NGE or the cash shop lying but also all the years in EQ where they seemed to spend all their time on the "endgame" and didn't bother fixing all the little bugs in the older zones. You could start an alt in a zone and there'd be the same bugged quest that was bugged when you started your first character there six years before. It annoyed me they didn't seem to care about their game. It's a cliche but Blizzard does deserve a lot of props for how they try and make sure WoW is bug-free at all levels.
In practise:
Sometimes when you're bored you'll shell out money on something you know is going to be average just because you're a bit bored. I won't do that with anything from SOE but I'd probably crack after a while if they brought out something that i thought was going to be just my niche.
If aion was being run by any other company i would be there with brass knobs on.
But after having played Lineage II for 2 years and finally giving in to the bots and farmers and NC Soft's complete refusal to do anything about them, i think i have a pretty good idea how aion is gonna turn out.
I will NEVER buy another game from SoE, Funcom, Mythic or Aventurine

D2D --> the crap I went through with BF2041 was unbleiveable. Not to mention I rebuilt my machine and could not download the game again. Total crap stuff there.
Say hello, To the things you've left behind. They are more a part of your life now that you can't touch them.
SOE, but I think they know that gamers are jaded from their WTF did you just do mishaps so they are targeting a younger audience with F2P cash shop games.
Cryptic has joined them over the past year as a company I would never do business with. That's about it.
I think this whole "I will never buy another game from X company" is just bullshit. Companies make mistakes as often as people do. Not everything is going to live up to the hype. When approaching anything in life you have to approach it with caution and realistic expectations.
I've been burned by AoC, WAR, and many other MMOs that have boasted about how they were going to bring something new to the genre, something fun and exciting...something DIFFERENT than WoW...but they have failed.
Even after getting burned by these games and companies, I will always try out a game that seems interesting on paper, no matter who is making it. So, will I try out a new Funcom, Mythic, Aventurine, or (insert random game company name here) game ever again? Yes, as long as I think the concept seems interesting.
SOE pissed me off not only with what they did with SWG, but also how they failed so hard with EQ2...how they veered too far from the path that made EQ such a success and great game, but I will try any new game they come out with if it seems fun. To give an example, SOE has been said to be making an MMO based on the graphic Novel Ramayan 3392 AD and I will definitely try this out when/if it ever comes out.
Also, if I were to use the mentality that I'd never buy another game from a company that ingores its player base and ruined a game that I thought was great befoer certain changes and had serious potential...then I'd never buy another Blizzard game because IMO....WoW is total shit and could be so much better. However, I'm not that infantile, illogical, or irrational.
I'm going to add EA as a second to avoid mostly because I know whatever game they come out with, they'll just can it before it's time. RIP E&B, I still miss you.
I wont buy another game from the chain store "Game" in Bristol uk. They wouldn't let me return Shadowrun on the xbox 360 on acount of it beeing total shity bunch of tousers that even a syphilitic monk wouldn't touch.
I dont know if I can think of an MMO, I will still give SOE a chance, expecially if they keep the developers from EQ2. If they go....I go. I boycott EA. I cant think of anything positive to say about them.
NC Soft: No matter what they do they are still an asian based company, and that meand unimaginable greed and ignorance. I'll buy what they publish. But never anything they make. They have an F with the BBB
Frogster: Too much BS surrounding TCoS
There are probably others that can be summed up by saying Asian grinders.

The only company I would never pay any money to is Atari/Cryptic!
They have shown what shady company they are over and over and i hope no one will support their scams. Funcom is next on the list but The longest journey was a nice game
The only genuine MMO companies left are Turbine and CCP in my opinion.
If WoW = The Beatles and WAR = Led Zeppelin Then LotrO = Pink Floyd
I guess there really isn't any for me right now that I would 100% avoid.
I wasn't happy with SOE after the SWG stuff, but I bought Vanguard and EQ2.
Have been hesitant with NCSoft after getting both Auto Assault and Tabula Rasa and both being shut down. Two disasters back to back, but I've already preordered Aion and am getting ready to play that.
So, I'll guess I'll pretty much give any company another chance and look more at the game itself than the company making/publishing it.

You pretty much just said you don't learn from your mistakes. I fear for those around you lol
I'm not going to write off a game company just because it made one game I was disappointed in or made a few bad choices, but that said I will be more careful when pre-ordering from companies I've had a bad experience with. Turbine
Cryptic
SOE
Funcom
NCSoft
Mythic Blizzard isn't on the list because I never played WoW outside of the beta, while the others I've all pre-ordered games by.
lol thats pretty much the majority of big MMORPG devs then...
Blizzard believe it or not. I got quite screwed in D2 when they refused to fix the single biggest mass dupe. Blizzard also could have added so much more to WoW to make it a really complete mmo and basically sat there soaking in everyone's money. I view Blizzard as a greedy pile of trash.
However, they do make great games and despite my pure and utter loathing of them I still find myself buying their games. I'm a complete tool lol.

SOE.
Aventurine. Too shady there.
Say hello, To the things you've left behind. They are more a part of your life now that you can't touch them.
Funcom - Never ever..
Mythic managed to screw one of the best fantasy francies.. so... they are not likely to make another game... like ...ever..
So - FUncom !
Aventurine --> too shady
D2D --> the crap I went through with BF2041 was unbleiveable. Not to mention I rebuilt my machine and could not download the game again. Total crap stuff there.

SOE, hands down.
I think they have some awesome developers though (EQ2), but the management just makes me think they hate the players.
And no, I never played SWG.
i don't boycott any companies but i do take care when purchasing from SOE
MMO wish list:
-Changeable worlds
-Solid non level based game
-Sharks with lasers attached to their heads

Mythic
Warhammer lore was fubar, and the game itself was a crash/lag/glitch fest.

SOE.
Anyone who puts ingame items (not meta game services... theres a difference) for sale for RL cash in their games.
lol thats pretty much the majority of big MMORPG devs then...
Says it all about the state of this hobby.
Easy, as long as Smedley is at SOE all their game will be mediocre at best.
