Good thing aion battles last longer that makes it good for more strategies/tactics on beating your enemy/ies unlike on wow with my rogue I could kill some random cloth in 1-5 seconds c'mon, were is the skill in beating someone that fast?.

Wow classes are far from balanced else there wouldn't be those frequent nerfs.

Who said Aion was only a big zergfest? You don't have to zerg to pvp in Aion--please don't build a straw man to further your arguments. Seems like you are looking for an FPS inside an MMORPG, which helps me understand why you like WoW's pvp.

I agree. But pvp should also be more than queueing up for set-instances in pre-defined locations with fixed numbers.

I agree that WoW's pvp system isn't garbage. It's actually a lot of fun. That being said, some people find that pvp outside of a box and with a purpose besides personal gear rewards is a more enjoyable system in the long term.

WHAT IN THE HELL ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT! I play a mage. That is definitly not true. Mages granted do have probably the easiest counters to every class, but they're easily wooped by people who know how to counter our counters. Since it's not that hard really. PvPing as a mage is sadening, unless you get really skilled in pvp. I've never found WoW to be a good pvp games hence I've never really gave a hoot about pvp. It is nice to see Warlocks squeal now and then since their big nerf in 3.0

    Playing: Guild Wars and Exteel
Loved: WoW, Guild Wars, FFXI, and Lineage 2
Liked: Exteel, WAR, and Lineage 1
Hated:City of Heroes, City of Villians, Matrix Online, Runescape, and D&D Online.
Waiting For: Aion, Guild Wars 2, FFXIV, and SW:TOR

LOL.... at anyone that thinks wow has anything that can seriously be considered pvp. That game was never designed around pvp and will never be anything but a pve carrot on a stick. Every time i see some kid brag about his 2v2 wow arena rating as some kind of proof of pvp skill the words special olympian come to mind.

Many games have tried to mix pvp into a MMO and few have succeeded. This one has promise but I'm a long ways from jumping on any fanboi bandwagon yet.

He stated that FPS had the best PvP like it was FACT.

He could be repeating the opinion of his counterstrike buddies for all I know.

Now I feel strange that I had to explain something so simple.

    Why Aion PvP IS Revolutionary,

Read it and weap it, it's well documented fact about why aion pvp > most of all the other games.

Just gotta see it to believe it now. if so, then my patience has not been in vain.

You DO KNOW CC is not a major factor, but DO NOT KNOW how gear comes in to play?

Sounds to me you don't know either, only those who played beta to high levels or played a Korean version can be of some input here, if you're not one of them do not present us with "facts".

    CC :

Each class has some form of CC, some more than others.  A few of the classes get them late in the game.  CC's are not OP'd and can be cured or be resisted by using a skill at the right time.

    Gear:

Gear plays a big role in PvP in the higher lvl's (40-50).  But if your full-on into pvp and like to do fortress runs then gear should not be a problem unless your looking to be geared out with full abyss lvl50 gear, then it's gonna take you awhile (but your opponents will be in the same boat also).

Gear for PvE has less of an inpact.  This gear is for the most part easy to come by via drops, elites, bosses, quest that will give you blue or gold items.  And then there is also crafted gear which is very good for pve.

    Combat speed:

slow at the lower lvls with very few skills.  Picks up at mid-range, and is bloody fast when you are properly geared stat wise at end game.  This also applies to flight, slow and short at the begining but speed and time picks up as you upgrade your wings.

Velika: City of Wheels: Among the mortal races, the humans were the only one that never built cities or great empires; a curse laid upon them by their creator, Gidd, forced them to wander as nomads for twenty centuries...

No it's not garbage, it's probably the most balanced class-based MMORPG these days, a balance that doesn't occur after 20v20 but rather from 2v2(hell, even 1v1) to 19v19. You can pretty much do arena for weapons then organise world events with your friends, duel and do battlegrounds.

WoW pvp has never been balanced. There has always, and will always, be a FoTM class. It is my opinion that Blizzard devs keep it that way on purpose.

Vault-Tec analysts have concluded that the odds of worldwide nuclear armaggeddon this decade are 17,143,762... to 1.

LOL WOW IS NOT OR HAS IT EVER BEEN A PVP GAME.......................

  • stayontargetstayontarget Member RarePosts: 6,519

Compare PvE content all you like between the two (instances, boss, world bosses, elites). But please don't try to compare them in PvP.

That is like comparing water to wine.  Some people like bottled water and some people like fine wine.

Best way to be happy in WOW is to roll and level, one  of every class. That way when blizz spins the nerf wheel and it lands on your stongest toon you can switch to what ever class was buffed that week. Next week, rinse and repeat, park what was nerfed and play what was buffed.

This sums Aion PvP pretty much. otherwise read the link, it's pretty good fact (yes FACT) about it >.>

I love the sig lol, Xidal

As to the post there is no comparison between WoW and Aion or GW and Aion they are very diffrent types of game. I really cant understand why people try to compare MMOs there are a few that can be compared tit for tat but not many. GW is a smaller scale rapid pace PvP game, WoW's PvP (to me) is a joke but if you prefer its a zerg fest or arena style (mini game is another good discription I saw) Aion reminds me of the PvP we saw with DAoC (nothing like WAR's PvP I dont care what any one trys to tell you).

In short if you are looking for more WoW fun then your out of luck with Aion, if you after GW style game play again no luck no comparison (diffrent games) the only game I can think of that is remotely siilar in terms of PvP style is DAoC and that game is so old its difficult at best to compare them.

As to the world events, no I can not see a fesable method for runnign world events in the core game, now they could run seperate world events using a diffrent client such as a turny but no not part of the stock game. The reason is the client there are diffrences and more than a few so I understand.
