    It does look pretty cool.

Aion now = a crap derivative grinding tab-target combat MMO. Played the first month, I didn't subscribe any longer.

Aion "vision" = what it needs to be to make the game decent. I'll wait till the expansion arrives.

Yes, so our version of AION is now even completely unprotected and even more open to hacking. Wich is exactly what happened is continue to happen.
Do you really think the NC devs in Korea are going to bother or even getting resources to work on client security for our western game client, while they or at least their CEO's still firmly believe in Gameguard and continue to use it in their MAIN Asian market?
The moment NCWest removed GameGuard we already pretty much knew this game was done for and that, next to the RMT'ers and more brighter cheating idiots,.... that now every Noob on the internetz was going to be able to hack their way into AION and run a bot program or any other hack.
Wich, again, is exactly what happened and continues to happen.
    Cheers

What a bullkaka! Aion was as easy to hack with Gameguard as it is without it. Removal of Gameguard helped a lot of legitimate users, but didnt change a thing for hackers.
Once GameGuard was there removing it on your client was a matter of one google search and 2 minutes of work, so then every noob on the internet and his granny was able to circumwent this infamous "protection". Not to mention that most bots can bypass gameguard on their own.

But lets get to the point.
Any estimates of release date? Both in Korea and rest of the world.

The 1980s called and they want their anime combat animations and effects back, thanks.

Epic! QFT. When I watched the trailer I was like 'yay they changed everything to superrealistic weather and evnironment... but you can still play a BMI 17 chick in a steel bikini wielding a 500 pound hammer'. Wait a minute...

I love this kind of style, it's refreshingly different. I like TERA's even more over the board style.

i read your post its funny how you flame a game for having gameguard and then flame it for not having gameguard. So basically you're just going to hate on NCsoft for whatever they do, congrats for showing your true form troll.

oh and by the way troll they hired Lum the Mad to help with Bots and spam, banning over 16000 accounts and they pretty much did away with all the spam, so yeah they are working on it. show me a game free of bots and spam. i got mail, tells and seen many bots in WoW, EQ2 and WAR.

Until NCSoft gets serious about the cheaters and botters this game will remain another second rate game.  No amount of upgrades will fix the underlying problem that their client is far to open to the lowlifes.

Oh and Ravenos, the only troll here is you, ignoring the real facts.  Aion has more bots now then all the games out there combined.  Fixing the problem is going to be no easy task.  There are no quick fixes for Lum, I wish him the best.  It remains to be seen if NCSoft gives him the resources to be successful.

    I'm afraid you are wrong.

NCsoft is doing incredibly well in getting rid of botters and spam.  I actually play the game and can tell you now there is far less botting and spammers than there ever was, it's not the major problem trolls and haters make it out to be anymore.

Roll on Aion 3.0 - The video has refreshed my excitement for Aion which I'll admit was a little lacking, I just can't wait!

Aion is the next Juggernaut of the MMO world, mark my words.  There is a long and bright future for this game.

Yes because if there is one thing a game that is entirely based on fantasy needs, it's realism.

People like to see some actions in their combat with flashy animations and attack, rather than the whack a moll combat of WoW and Everquest.

QFT   ... lol whackamole... sooooo true, and yeah, they had to make more money to be able to pay the devs to come up with this stuff, hence it not being there at release... i am pretty sure the Richard Garriot court case drained their pockets a bit...

Well that trailer sure does make Aion look a lot more interesting than it is.  Though the new combat system "sounds" cool.  I bet the leveling is still a huge snore fest.

Another 11,000 bots were banned today... Anyone still complaining needs to go play in traffic.

More than 11.000 confirmed bot accounts were banned from our servers today in a masterful slash with the blade of punishment. (via @aion_ayase)

Okay I'm going to try and cut "some" of the misinformation the trolls are spewing out.  None of these are direct quotes.  For one thing I don't want this to be personal I just want the bad info to stop already.

"NC isn't serious about te gold sellers and the service is horrible"

I've been playing since launch and I can tell you it's a night and day difference.  As some have already said roughly 30000 accounts were banned within the last couple weeks alone.  Your argument doesn't have anything to stand on.  Myself and my guild have had there blips with the service but of late things have immensly improved.  They're at least as good as any other mmo dev right now and better than most right now.

    "the game is all pvp.."

Yes it is and even this video backs up that idea.  Much of the new content will have a pvp bent.  There is no such thing as a pve server but... you knew that when you bought the game.  What I can say about the pvp is that it's one of the best systems out right at the moment.   It does it well and I've had huge fun.  Looks like we have more to look forward to later.

On the other hand what's there isn't horrible.(though not on the level as some pure pve games)  I truly have enjoyed the raids I've gone on, there's a lot of room for improvement and this aspect will grow with time.  This game is perfect for those who enjoy a half half approach to pvp/pve such as myself.  It's not for the pure pve crowd.(perhaps some time in the future it might be though who knows?)

So why is this video so amazing?

For me, one of my main gripes of the present Aion is simply it's graphical presentation of the landscapes.  Sometime's it's great other times it's meh.  It follows the asian trend of putting a lot of effort into great chara visuals only to skimp on those said settings.  The landscape really clashed with the beautiful chara design's at times.  This update really wipes any need temptations to leave for greener pastures off my plate.  Graphics are a huge thing with me.  I will not be happy in a game that underperforms here yet this update brings Aion to at least one of, if not, THE best looking games out or coming out while obviously still allowing for older machines.

Seasons... people this is huge.  There has never been any game that impletmented anything like this as of yet.  A very nice addition to make each area dynamic and it looks fatastic.

swimming... I still remember the underwater dungion in L2 the garden of eva... I so loved that area and now this.:P Yay for adding yet another nice aspect to a great game.

Mounts-  I'll admit how annoying it's been to not have them implemented.  good choice.

Housing-  An aspect that is all too often ignored.  Awsome for rpers and good for even those who just want a place to call their own.

My question is what isn't there to like here?  Complaints against a game that is showing this much of a degree of improvement sounds an awful lot like wah wah to me.

Ok it sure looks great. One of the best trailers I have seen. But as the mantra here so often goes, graphics aren't everything. I mean, the idea of seasons is really great. I loved that the most. Also housing looks neat.

But for me the real point to quit was, the PVE levelling was BOOORING as hell. A real snoozefest. And at least for me thats what I am interested in, since I am not much a PVP nut.

On some levels, I felt as if I had played a totally different game. I stayed in Aion up to late 20ies in level, and nothing was as epic or cool as anything in the movie. Instead I was about to "kill 20 more hogwash hoodlums thank you here is a pie" trash.

I think this is probably way off - if you like the game now, the expansion will make it even better. If you don't, it's just be polishing a turd, as they say.

I don't know why people who already hate the game bother bashing the expansion, too, though. Yeah, the game has major issues, but it still needs to grow and evolve in a direction that current players who enjoy it will want to keep playing it for. Looking ahead like that is probably a much better strategy than getting bogged down trying to fix things that will probably never be entirely fixed.

    When I want a single-player story, I'll play a single-player game. When I play an MMO, I want a massively multiplayer world.
